I’ve now received a reply. Thank you Vlad.
Hi Vlad.
Details for admin URL and credentials were sent via email on Friday. Thank you.
Thank you!
I discovered it is because I hadn’t hit the save button, sorry!
So Twitter, Facebook, Insta work great, however my YouTube code doesn’t work. I have less than 50 subscribers so am using the default YouTube user ID. Is this why?
That worked, thank you!
I think other beginners would find that useful if added into the tutorial.
Cheers!
Hi Bogdan,
Thanks for replying. The layout I already have because it’s the one that TagDiv created with the old Composer. But now I need to make in the new one.
You said ‘You can use separate rows and make the big grid it;s own row full width a then split the one underneath where you can implement the sidebar just like this layout:’ But I don’t know how to do this. I watched a TagDiv video and it just skipped over it. Is there not any instructions or solutions that explain how to do this please?
Hi.
As requested, here are two screenshots from the tech pages of a newspaper website
DailyMail.co.uk with side boxout
DailyMail.co.uk with large boxout
As you can see in these examples the boxes each have their own headline. They can be coloured. And they can be positioned on the side of the page or a full width box and include images within.
In tech, and in all other articles they are great for sharing extra supplementary information. They also make the page easier to read and attractive.
Is there is an easy way to do this with the theme, or is it a feature that could be developed? It would be amazing as it is a core design feature of magazines, and by extension, magazine & newspaper websites.
Thank you! 🙂
Style 5 did the trick and was much easier to use then typing code.
Thank you.
One follow up question please.
I am trying to replicate the look of this example page: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_video/
I have set the background colour for the grid in Visual Composer.
In Theme Panel options I have set the Header Style to Style 5 Full Dark menu with logo.
However I am seeing a white bar between the header and the grid. How do I remove this white bar? Also how do I edit the Top Bar colour? Thank you.
That did the trick, thank you!
A great product with full aftercare support is very important to buyers trying to decide. Well done!
That worked!
Thank you. 🙂
Hi Alin
I appreciate your help which I followed and with a bit of trial and error helped me resolve the problem! I incorrectly thought the homepage sidebar and default sidebar are the same. The confusion came because they are both adjusted using different methods. So I’ve explained it in simple steps for me to understand, to help any other newcomers, and to ask if you can tell me if I am wrong about anything!
The Homepage sidebar is different from the Default sidebar.
To customise the Elements/widgets in the Homepage sidebar go to the Pages – Homepage
To customise the widgets in the Default Sidebar go to Appearance – Widgets – and add remove widgets in the Newspaper default box.
To set a default sidebar go to Blog and Posts Template. In the box choose Default.
To set a universal custom sidebar go to Blog and Posts Template. In the box create a new custom sidebar, then choose it. Then go to Pages – Post Page and in the Custom Sidebar box choose the Custom Sidebar.
However some of the Elements in the Homepage sidebar (such as the Social Counter) are not available in the Widgets section. Is there away to duplicate them across so they can appear in the default sidebar?
Thank you!
Hi Alin, thanks for getting back to me.
I’ve tried both methods of trying to create the sidebar and neither is working for me.
I went to Template Settings > Blog and posts Template and in the sidebar dropdown box I created a Custom Sidebar, previously I had it set on defaut. The demo categories are not listed on mine because I haven’t installed the demo.
I then went to Appearance > Widgets.
I clicked on the Custom Side box I created and added widgets including Tag Cloud and Calendar. However nothing appears on the sidebars in post pages.
I then went to Appearance > Widgets clicked on Block 1 and added it to my Custom Sidebar and tried to customise it and add widgets but still it doesn’t appear on post pages.
I also tried the custom sidebar method but still nothing. Your instructions are what I had originally tried to do.
By no means am I an experienced web developer, but for the past few years I have been installing and setting up WordPress themes just by following the instructions. I’m so frustrated as I have spent many hours on this and can’t resolve it!
Please help me get the sidebar working.
