In order for 7 days popular to work you must have active posts with views so the Newspaper theme can filter the MOST POPULAR posts. If you want to remove all the filters you can do that by selecting ALL Categories in category filter: https://www.screencast.com/t/f4c9GvX9Y

From Newspaper 9.8 there are 5 Custom font tabs. You can update to 9.8 and benefit from them. At the moment adding any more will require modifications in the code.

Please provide a link to your website in order to inspect. You can try and remove the file if you are certain that the icons wich the font contains are no longer needed. Just make sure that you create a backup first.

That file is loaded from the stylesheet and the font is loaded by the browsers after the stylesheet loads.
