Our theme displays the featured image on the post itself so there is no need to add the image again in the post content itself.

I know, but the issue is that in my previous theme there were no such support of the thumbnail featured image, so I was forced to add the first image of the post. So there are more than 20.000 posts with the images which are displayed below the featured image. To remove them manually it will take ages.

unfortunately there is no automatic way of doing this

I found the following code for functions.php that make it automatic
function remove_first_image ($content) {
if (!is_page() && !is_feed() && !is_feed() && !is_home()) {
$content = preg_replace("/<img[^>]+\>/i", "", $content, 1);
} return $content;
}
add_filter('the_content', 'remove_first_image');
This removes the first image from displaying on the front-end, but
– it leaves it in the Editor
– it also doesn’t remove the caption

Probably you may advise on some other way of removing the first picture when it is removed from the editor and when it is also removes the capture?

Its clear that header styles are different. My question was which part of code in Styles sheet or elsewhere changes the MENU TEXT ACTIVE & HOVER COLOR in meny style 11. As in theme settings as you showed also for 11 there is no button controlling it. I will try to apply it for 5.

I am also experiencing the same issue as above (no images load unless LazyLoad is disabled) and I am using the latest theme and Visual Composer versions. Using WordPress 4.5.2.

This is on a new development website without any other plugins (only Theme & Visual Composer).

And despite the last versions, I am still seeing the jQuery issue:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘init’ of undefined in wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.js?ver=7.1.1

Not sure if you could help?

Extra information: Also tried with server level caching disabled and issue remains. Disabling LazyLoad makes images show but the jQuery error is still present.

The above error appear when someone type http://www.example.com/index.php This request will return an error because some of the required function are not loaded properly. The solution would be a redirect to the homepage and yes you can do it like this.

The requests number can’t be the same from one site to another. The browser make a request for each resource loaded on the page. For example if you have 10 images on that page the browsers send 10 requests only for the images. Also there are other scripts which must be loaded. On your site are loaded lots of scripts and many of them are not requested by the theme but by your plugins: http://screencast.com/t/L00mASdMI To have fewer queries try to use only the required plugins and also load a very simple version of the page.

Sorry I won’t use any inline css as the Newspaper theme is providing all the features and styles which I need, almost all of them are like that. Also I would like to clearly mention that I won’t use any plugins other than what Newspaper provide. I am not saying that we need a support or anything like that. I just only requested and mentioned the latest trends to achieve more downloads to the best news theme. As News is initially considered by Google for AMP in Rich Cards format, so there is a vast chance to help the theme developers to generate more leads. Right now what i am seeing is that those who correctly fixed AMP is not even interested to share the methods, just to reduce competition with them. 😉 That’s why i shared here the videos and some links! Hope it will be helpful for someone.

Most of the errors from post content that cause errors in AMP plugin can’t be fixed by a theme.

For example, if you use the “center” element in WordPress, that is an inline style, which should never be used in modern HTML, and only done with a class like <p class='mycenter">Sub Head</p> and not <p align="center"></p> … similarly, bad plugins which inject javascript into the AMP endpoint or “all templates” can’t be solved by theme, or AMP plugin, or cache plugins which minify the AMP endpoint template … these are all site issues unrelated to theme typically or the AMP plugin — only you can resolve that.

So, fault of AMP plugin “not working” is not the fault of plugin, but the content and OTHER plugins you’re using.

But again, most theme devs will *not* be adding AMP support as that won’t fix inherent problems with OTHER issues, like the ones you experienced and they don’t have time to help people fix their content for a $50 theme.

I tried about two times on the AMP plugin, but on Search Console I got a lot of errors. 😀 So I removed it, I think after the update of Newspaper mobile theme their needs some more coding to fetch AMP pages by error free fetching.
As Google announce the next future of website as AMP, a lot of persons (including me) are looking for themes that supports AMP plugin without any error. If Newspaper provides it then Tagdiv team will hit another milestone as on Theme forest.

Most of us have been using AMP plugin from Automattic with TagDiv themes since Nov. 2015; and with roll out of the AMP protocol. So, my pages are being served in AMP for several months now since it officially launched mid-Feb.

SO, why wait? You can enable AMP support “right now” with couple of clicks.

The official WordPress AMP plugin is working on 50,000+ WordPress websites NOW including WP VIP clients.

Since this is made by Automattic, who make WordPress, it’s the safest route to doing this and doing it correctly, to support WP posts.

This is why most theme devs are not adding separate AMP supportll just like it’s not necessary to replicate ecommerce or forums, when there are already WordPress-funded agnostic solutions out there, including things like a beta Facebook articles plugin, etc.

Just food for thought.
