i just started making website on newspaper theme, i want to have confidence in future. How to start making changes on blog to safe all data when u relase theme update?

I have experience with another theme’s when updating some data is deleted or lost 🙁 so i want to ask right now on a starting moment to better know and make good movement for future 🙂

and by the way 1 more question: i do not especially like the social counter, i think it’s bugged, because i write facebook, twitter, instagram account and saw pinterest… 🙁

Can u recomend good social count plugin and plugin for post share & like?

Video is youtube, and youtube forces https, yet somehow the embedded widget tries to use HTTP. I’ve tried various force-https plugins and nothing works. I can’t get this thing to load the video in HTTPS.

Hi, using latest version of template (1.5) and plugins, I pasted a Soundcloud song link to a post and looks great on desktop, but on iPad portrait (768 – 1023px) it invades sidebar column.

Hi, find one problem. For example, when i create new page and write simple text, then -> sidebar is showing, but if i write text + add contact form 7 (use visual composer) to page layout, then sidebar is not showing and my text + contact form showing on 100% wide site content

Some of theme’s strings missed from i18n support. For example, post meta boxes http://cl.ly/image/2g371y1e312H

Can you add these string to translation ready? I just checked and can’t find in default.po file.

I know this might seem stupid, so please forgive. I’m trying to use the grid columns short code and it doesn’t seem to do anything. the “1/2 Columns” shortcode doesn’t divide anything up. I’ve tried it in text and visual. Other short codes work, like the block quote, box quote, etc. But not this one.

I’m setting up a new website and creating some posts with smart lists.

Until now I didn’t have any kind of problem, but with a longer <h3> title, I noticed that the smart list doesn’t work well.

For example:

if I write <h3>Lorem ipsum doloret sit amen, Lorem ipsum doloret sit amen</h3>

The smart lists 1 cut the title with dots.

Did you experienced this kind of problem before?
How can I solve it?

I just installed the theme and I’m getting familiar with it. Great work! I have my first (of many future) questions…

How do I remove or relocate the category listings under the title of a blog post? I have already gone into theme options/breadcrumbs and disabled all breadcrumbs (I know its not the same thing but I thought I’d try). In Post Settings, I also disabled “show tags on post” I cannot find any other place to remove or relocate category listings

What else do I have to disable (And where)??? If I cant remove them from the page, can I relocate them?

Hi, might be annoying question, but is there a cheat sheet anywhere of the pre-existing Boostrap classes which might have survived all the customizations?

E.g., Bootstrap 3 table classes? Color classes?

Normally I don’t need to deal with that for the “magazine” site, but for my ecom system I need to make a table on front page for our services for quick add to cart “chart”, and it occurred to me it was difficult to determine which classes were valid due to mix of CSS, LESS stuff. Newspaper 1.0 was pretty simple, Newsmag not as much, in this regard.

For example, to make red, or blue text in Bootstrap, the classes are easy to use; similarly the table classes have the striped, responsive options.

Also, any icon set being used, such as glyphs from Bootstrap, or a icon set list for your custom version of Fontawesome?

For instance, simply adding a shopping cart icon span manually on a custom table layout for a button, the built in Bootstrap buttons, colors, and FA cart class would be super helpful.

Seems dumb for me to hook a new version of Fontawesome to the theme since your font is being loaded, but not clear what icons are included in your version? (I guess I could open the TTF and print a spec sheet …. but that would be good to have for the theme docs, especially if Newsmag 1.6 will share some “conceptual” elements for Newspaper 5).

Basically, need to create responsive table with 5 columns, add to cart buttons and shopping cart icons on buttons, and be able to set some text red and some blue — all of that would take short time in Bootstrap (e.g., the active, info, warning, table-condensed, table-responsive classes); but not certain what of those classes carried over to the theme? Hence my query.

So, guess I’m looking for a Bootstrap 3 cheat sheet of what basic CSS elements survived, and a specimen sheet for the built in font/icons/glyphs, is such exists.

Trying to avoid ever using “shortcodes” which are against my religion, not being theme agnostic 🙂

Something to do with the new shortcodes?

Here is an example.
On Theme panel -> Theme fonts -> Post elements -> Box author description, I chose a custom font but on the post appears the default font.

I would like you to give us a recommendation for an independent Adv plugin that is compatible with the theme NewsMag, which has more options for an Ad campaigns (display options, google formats, static or animated banners, campaign tracking throw google ad sense, third party access, etc).

Or information that you may plan to improve adv plugin within NewsMag theme.
