FYI

HTTP Error 413 Request entity too large
The Web server (running the Web site) thinks that the HTTP data stream sent by the client (e.g. your Web browser) was simply too large i.e. too many bytes. What constitutes ‘too many bytes’ depends partly upon the operation being attempted. For example a request to upload a very large file (via the HTTP PUT method) may encounter a ceiling on upload file size set by the Web server.

Hello, I have test everything but it’s not possible to make the footer 100%; width. What im missing here.

Not background image uploaded on theme. For example like the footer here: http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609

How its possible to do that in Newsmag ?

Thanks in advance.

The coma its before your site.
,<!doctype html >
<!–[if lt IE 7]> <html class=”no-js ie6 oldie” lang=”en”> <![endif]–>
<!–[if IE 7]> <html class=”no-js ie7 oldie” lang=”en”> <![endif]–>
<!–[if IE 8]> <html class=”no-js ie8 oldie” lang=”en”> <![endif]–>
<!–[if IE 9]> <html class=”no-js ie9 oldie” lang=”en”> <![endif]–>
<!–[if gt IE 8]><!–> <html class=”no-js” lang=”en-US” prefix=”og: http://ogp.me/ns# fb: http://ogp.me/ns/fb#”&gt; <!–<![endif]–>
<head>

Maybe some plugin its causing this. Example. jetpack inserts a smiley like this 😉 on top.

Try deactivating all plugins, and activate one by one.

Hi,

For performance reasons, it would be nice to let posts to be randomized in the same way for all visitors, with refresh all X hours. Currently, the random is generating differently for every post (in a widget that is displayed on all the website for instance). Why to not display once, and let the widget generate new post selection every 24h for example?

I just made this theme live on my site last night and found a pretty big incompatibility with another plugin. I use a voting plugin called WPolling System and it’s not displaying correctly on wide screens. Mobile views or smaller screens show it correctly however. I thought it was an issue between the related articles and this plugin, but disabling didn’t fix it. I then thought it was the sidebar, but I disabled that and it still doesn’t work right. I’m out of ideas.

Any help out there?

Here’s a page with an example: http://aftercredits.com/2014/11/big-hero-6-2014/

Hi,

Unfortunately adding conditional for posts title isn’t easy and you need custom work for that or a plugin as the theme doesn’t have a feature like that but you can add the category tag like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/block-4-meta-help/#post-27896
Try the example from the URL I have sent you and see if this works for you.
Hope this helps!

Thanks

How can I have conditional post title coloring? For example if a post is in category1 then the title text sitewide should be red, category2 would be green, etc.

With my old theme I used to be able to add the custom CSS “.category-stingers .entry-title a { color: green; }”. I’ve used the inspect element tool on my browser but just can’t figure out how to accomplish this.

The border around text fields is barely visible, so it’s difficult to see the text fields. I have been using custom CSS to add borders individually for each plugin, but it’s getting difficult. For example, I can’t get it to work for the Buddypress form.

Is it possible to add darker borders for all text fields across the site? Thanks!

Hi,

Have you tried using the div’s below?
If not please do so and add your banner link at the source of the images, like this: http://screencast.com/t/T42B1c8l7

<div class="td-visible-desktop">
<a href="#"><img  width="728" height="90" src="" /></a>
</div>

<div class="td-visible-tablet-l">
<a href="#"><img width="468" height="60"  src="" /></a>
</div>

<div class="td-visible-tablet-tp">
<a href="#"><img width="468" height="60"  src="" /></a>
</div>

<div class="td-visible-phone">
<a href="#"><img width="300" height="250"  src="" /></a>
</div>

Here is an example of how this should look:

Example:
<div class="td-visible-desktop">
   <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
      <img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-728.jpg">
   </a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-tablet-l">
   <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
      <img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-468.jpg">
   </a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-tablet-tp">
   <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
      <img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-468.jpg">
   </a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-phone">
   <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
      <img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-300.jpg">
   </a>
</div>

Note:
Instead of http:google.com add the link to the desired location.

Hope this helps!
Please let me know!

Thanks

Hi,

When you add an image WordPress automatically creates a thumb for each module the theme uses so, besides WordPress’s, we have added new image sizes in functions file.
So that the cropping function doesn’t affect much of your added images you need to upload an image appropriate in aspect ration to the thumb you plan to use it for.
In your case this happens because of the portrait type of the images you have added, to fix this you need to add an image with the same aspect ratio as thumbnails so it can be cropped without loosing any part of the image.
You can read more about this here:
1. http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size
2. http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
Hope this helps!

Thanks

Hello,

Isn’t the place holder image for the featured image on an article?

Is there a way to get rid of that?

example:
http://todaychristian.net/truth-song-made-men-go-nuts-just-snorted-im-laughing-hard/

my website: http://theviralera.com/i-would-hug-this-cat-forever-but-youll-never-guess-what-makes-it-so-adorable/

On my website my featured image shows a grey in the area where my image doesn’t fit.

No, I have not tried to fix it. Probably due to the old browsers, because I open it in firefox 33 &amp; chrome 40 looks fine but in IE 8 &amp; opera 12 looks ugly. Sorry bad english.

Hi Lucian:

I’ve partially solved the problems. The plugin that what causing the strange behavior with WP Super cache so I removed it. But I still have the css problem with the aweber form that was working OK. Now on The home page and 2 more categories the CSS works fine, the others no. It seem to be some kind of cache problem.

Now about the images that were scaled instead of load as thumbnails I’ll copy some examples from the gtmetrix report:

The following images are resized in HTML or CSS. Serving scaled images could save 972.7KiB (71% reduction).
Some samples below:

http://www.mujeresdeempresa.com/wp-content/uploads/2003/08/saskia-sassen.jpg is resized in HTML or CSS from 624×351 to 198×111. Serving a scaled image could save 78.7KiB (89% reduction).
http://www.mujeresdeempresa.com/wp-content/uploads/2002/04/networking2.jpg is resized in HTML or CSS from 611×427 to 198×138. Serving a scaled image could save 68.9KiB (89% reduction).
http://www.mujeresdeempresa.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/puck_poster.jpg is resized in HTML or CSS from 640×381 to 198×117. Serving a scaled image could save 68.6KiB (90% reduction).
http://www.mujeresdeempresa.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/isabel_allende.jpg is resized in HTML or CSS from 745×483 to 198×128. Serving a scaled image could save 45.3KiB (92% reduction).

The following image(s) are missing width and/or height attributes.

http://forms.aweber.com/form/displays.htm?id=TAzsDOysDIzsHA== (Dimensions: 1 x 1)
http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/images/google-logo.png (Dimensions: 106 x 36) (3 uses)

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Lucian,

I disabled all the plugins as you requested and I still was showing the error. I have set up a temp site to see if I can replicate the error and I noticed something. When looking at the slide using inspect element there are a number of style elements that seem to be missing on my main site. The following is an example:
This is from the test site
<div class=”item” itemscope=”” itemtype=”http://schema.org/Article&#8221; style=”-webkit-backface-visibility: hidden; overflow: hidden; position: absolute; -webkit-transform: matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 2800, 0); transform: matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 2800, 0); width: 700px;”><div class=”slide-meta”><span class=”slide-meta-cat”>Uncategorized</span><span class=”slide-meta-author”><time itemprop=”dateCreated” class=”entry-date updated” datetime=”2014-11-18T16:05:56+00:00″>Nov 18, 2014</time><meta itemprop=”interactionCount” content=”UserComments:0″></span></div><div class=”td-sbig-title-wrap”><span class=”td-sbig-title”>test 2</span><span class=”td-sbig-sep”></span></div><meta itemprop=”author” content=”datashepherd”></div>

And this is from the main site
<div class=”item” itemscope=”” itemtype=”http://schema.org/Article”><div class=”thumb-wrap”></div><div class=”slide-meta”><span class=”slide-meta-cat”>Humanities</span><span class=”slide-meta-author”><time itemprop=”dateCreated” class=”entry-date updated” datetime=”2014-11-16T14:33:00+00:00″>Nov 16, 2014</time><meta itemprop=”interactionCount” content=”UserComments:0″></span></div><div class=”td-sbig-title-wrap”><span class=”td-sbig-title”>Faith &amp; Reason at Westmister</span><span class=”td-sbig-sep”></span><span class=”td-sbig-title”>Books</span><span class=”td-sbig-sep”></span></div><meta itemprop=”author” content=”editor3″></div>

The main site seems to be missing the styling required for the slide to work. This is in addition to still having the js error. I’m at a loos on how to fix this the main site is to go live by the end of the week. Any help is appreciated.
