I can’t get the mobile page which is associated with my home page to load. Rather it appears to be just the responsive version of the web page which is showing. Is there a setting that I’ve missed? Here are the actions I’ve taken so far:
– Created a mobile page (through the “+” method at top of page.) My current home page is connected to it <img src="https://i70west.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/mobile.png" /><img src="https://i70west.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/mobile-set.png" />
– I do not have Amp or Newspaper Mobile plugin installed.
– I emptied all caches I could think of (W2 Supercache, server, laptop and safari on iphone)
– I deactivated plugins, but that wasn’t the issue.
– Here is the mobile page as it should appear (and as it appears under the TagDiv edit page. Notice it has a “Button” to identify it as the correct version.) <img src="https://i70west.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/mobile-view-e1665434613554.png" />
Could it be some strange caching problem? I’d appreciate any suggestions you have for a fix…Can’t get it up and running until mobile is straightened out.

Sorry Anamaria. I have taken advantage of this problem to remove the AMP version of my website. The AMP versions no longer contribute much and it is more important to focus on the Core Web Vitals.
The only problem I would have now is the header. Instead of my logo, the name of the blog would appear. I also get this message. “We have detected new content type(s) tdc-review, tdc-review-email, you might want to check the settings of the title and meta page and the sitemap”. Could you help me to solve the problem so that the logo appears in the header? Thanks

I just tested the NP12 update and that does fix the flyout menu problem we were seeing that you couldn’t replicate earlier so that is good. We are still seeing the problem regarding mobile theme/AMP. Do you have an update on this?

• WordPress 6.0.2
• Child theme enabled (blank from the plugin core with no modifications)
• A page that has the mobile theme manually turned off. This page should default to use the responsive theme but is broken.

We have a nespaper theme site and using WPML for translation.
We use the default pro template for our site.
Now when we activated WPML for several languages the header and footer jump back to a standard template but not the default we have put in with the general settings.
We have checked in general theme settings the default post template as well as all other default templates are set up correctly. Can you please advise what we are doing wrongly?
Also you can see from the example below that it takes ages until the language page opens.

The problem I see is that the Official AMP plugin for WP is activated but when I go to the theme panel, the mobile version menu does not appear at the bottom in the “plugins’ settings” section

The strange thing is that the problem is not on all categories. for example here https://extrasportz.com/category/gaming/ I see them to be ok, only on this category -> https://extrasportz.com/category/codes/ something is changed.
Did you did a test using only the theme plugins?

I agree with him there really is nothing special in this version 12. Even the review system is mediocre and quite difficult and strange.
I mean see, you/admin can change someone’s review comment. It does look good to edit a review with a rant but if there are a lot of reviews it will be a hassle and the review will need to be approved first every time there is a new one, that’s very inconvenient.
It’s better for the development team to focus more on developing features that are pastes on a blog and news website because basically people buy this theme because of that.
It features light-dark website mode, content tables and many others which are interesting if we take a look at the new developer theme.
Developers should also seriously work on the appearance of AMP Plugins & Mobile Themes, because internet users now use mobile more to visit websites than desktops.
The AMP plugin & mobile theme belonging to the newspaper tagdiv theme looks very classic and old-fashioned, it doesn’t have any interesting features or a slightly modern look, I even look like it’s been abandoned.
If the developers don’t take this seriously I think many of your customers will be willing to waste their money to leave this theme and buy a more modern theme and according to current state/demand conditions.

Some additional information that may, or may not be helpful:
1 – I’ve turned off the AMP plugin. I have having serious problems getting the configuration right and I finally dropped it for the time being until I can understand how to get the plugin working correctly.
2 – I have logo images loaded both in the Newspaper Theme Panel page for the mobile header, and on the theme itself. I delete one the other disappears also.
Please help if you can.
The new version 12 has conflicted with my AMP plugin and wrecked the entire AMP version. I would like to be able to go back to a previous version, but when I try to go back to the previous version, the problems are not fixed.
Hi, I just updated Newspaper to version 12, and two of the four required plugins have failed to install and are no longer updated. Only the tagdivd composer and tagdiv clud library plugins are updated. This has caused my website to lose the header logo, and in the AMP version the photographs do not appear and everything appears out of square. I have tried to go back to version 11.5.1 and those two plugins are still not updated. I am very worried and I don’t know what to do. Thanks.

Hello. Would like to point out some of the things I’ve found when using the new CPT functionalities.
1 – I’m using the following field https://imgur.com/Y91wMWK but it is not pulling the information from my Custom field created (here the image that shows the fields created – https://imgur.com/nG6lusk) . It does not pull any information from the custom fields inside the type “Group”. Can you help me out? I’am doing something wrong?
2- The type “Data Picker” does not show up in the “ACF Field” dropdown (but it works when placed in the “Custom field name” field (example – https://imgur.com/8RbbvVU)
3- Is there a way to use the CPT type “Date Picker” in the filter functionality? I noticed that right now it only pulls “taxonomys”. I would like this in order to filter by date of release.

I had a similar issue and resolved after discovering the lockdown of the admin area I had done was blocking access to the Ajax request. It would be nice if this was request was outside the admin area.

Hi, after the latest update the “Primary Category” field in the Post Settings area is Resetting to “Auto select a category” each time I open the post inside Wp-Admin for the editing. In short: the module is not saving my choices.
This is also reflecting in the home page: now every new post has the first category shown, ignoring my own choice for the “Primary Category” and so the label shown.
The “Primary Category” I’m talking about is this one.
Example
1) I go online with this post: “Strictly come dancing: what happens tonight on BBC One”. It has categories: “Watch Now”, “BBC”, “TV”, “Live streaming”, etc
2) I’m selecting “BBC” as Primary Category in the Post Settings, because I want that category to be shown under the post title in the homepage (using Block 14)
3) Instead, the Home Page is showing “Watch Now”
4) I go back in Wp-Admin to edit the post and I find that Primary Category is set on “Auto” (while I had selected “BBC”)
5) I select again “BBC” and save the post
6) But it’s not working. Everytime I go back to editing, the field is on “Auto”. It’s not saving.
So, what went wrong? How to resolve?
How to insert Facebook page news in the posts? I tried it from widget & there is no Facebook page from the functions.

Tagdiv composer does not work. It does not even show the delete box when I drag the row to delete.
When I try to undo it says error at zones:6(models): 0(Dom) the model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You should try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z/CTRL+SHIFT+Z)

With the new update, I tried to make a filter with plays, theater, location, schedules, genres, etc. … impossible.
I looked into the “Real Estate PRO” template to see how they made the filters.
I noticed that they don’t have the “custom post UI” plugin enabled and the only one that is enabled is “Advanced Custom Fields” I don’t know how they do to create the “Property” part where the properties are added without having “custom post UI”.
In my particular case, having enabled “advanced Custom fields” the usual “custom fields” disappear and I can not make modifications in the views x example. Disabling “advanced custom fields” the “custom fields” that come with wordpress appear again.
And not to mention that I don’t have the same format of “Real Estate PRO” when loading the post, the new fields…
Frustrating, and complicated … just to perform the loading of works and then assemble a filter.

As someone who (successfully) runs a few listing sites, I’d like to give my two cents on the new development.
First of all, I think it’s good that you’re developing in this area, and I also think the initial implementation is quite good. There is certainly still room for improvement in terms of filters and with the current design it is very difficult to check, for example, on a cell phone, where the other images of an ad are.
But the most important thing is, and here I have gained a lot of experience, that the Google APIs are absolutely unsuitable for a directory/listing site. They are simply unaffordable. For a test site to show they are ok but in live production use they don’t work.
Here is an example calculation for a site with moderate traffic:
100,000 Maps JavaScript API requests = $700
44.000 Geocoding API requests = $220
41.000 Places API requests = $697
Free Tier = -$200
Total per month = $1,417

For Large sites like Craigslist & Co the cost would be in the millions. That’s why larger sites in this space don’t use Google APIs.
If a site wants to succeed, it needs alternative APIs.
What arethe alternatives? For the Ad Single view, there are maps that cost nothing, no matter how many times they are loaded. One example is Leaflet, but there are others.
And for geocoding? Here there are providers with generous free tiers. Examples are
LocationIq with 150,000 free geocoding requests per month. Higher levels are also much cheaper than the Google API

Another alternative is ArcGis, here 20,000 requests per month are free and so 44,000 GeoCoding API requests cost just $12 per month.

A look at well-known directory themes might also help. Many use meanwhile alternatives to the Google APIs.
