Hi Folks, Visual Composer is not opening in Page Edits.
If I go to classic, its the usual gibberish. But in VC Frontend, nothing is there – a blank row.
Do I need to update? WordPress 4.5.2 Bakery say VC 4.9 welcome etc – do I need to update???
Help – I urgently need to edit some modules.

Hello,
The updated version of the plugin no longer has the visual representation of the templates. they can be found here now: http://screencast.com/t/H09uFEr8 and you can select the template you want from a drop-down list, but without the visual icons.
The new version also included this message for activation but you can ignore this message as the free version we bundle with our theme cannot be activated. They ‘omitted’ to remove the message from these versions of the plugin and we cannot hack the plugin as it will break our license agreement with wpbakery.

Where can I find the option to update the plugin to the latest version. I am trying to update the WPBakery Visual Composer, the current version I have is the 4.6.2. I want to be able to change it so I can edit my block page at the moment I am not able to see that option when I am doing my writing.

When upgrading to WordPress 4.5.2 Visual Composer WPBakery stops working.

I think they will hook in a function next time to turn that off for the bundled version. WP Bakery sneak that in every few versions. Suuuuupppppeeer annoying! 🙂

see the theme docs. You do NOT need to activate the authorization for the plugin as you have a bundled version and you can’t authorize it with WP Bakery. That nag can be ignored. 🙂
This visual composer seems to be an issue everywhere. I get this message in my admin..
Please activate your copy of the Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer to get update notifications, access to support features & other resources! And another that requires input of my Licence key, which I did, but gets error message..

Baztiano I have just fixed it.
Try deactivating WP Bakery, then delete it and its files. The go to the Newspaper tab on your dashbourd>plugns and install and activate visual composer.
It worked for me, hopefully you’ll have the same luck.

Google XML Sitemaps, OneSignal Push Notifications, Revolution Slider, Single Day Posts Export, tagDiv Social Counter, tagDiv Speed Booster, Visual Form Builder, WordPress Importer, WP Cloudy, WP Security Audit Log, WP Smush, WP Super Cache, WP-Mail-SMTP, WPBakery Visual Composer, Youtube Channel Gallery.
I dont think any of these plugins can cause this. I think may be its the google/yahoo ad we put is generating a automatic ad while in mobile browser. It will be good if you can confirm.

I bought your theme yesterday (V 6.7.2) and uploaded the file js_composer.zip (as you explained here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/), but on the last step I didn’t click on “activate plugin”. Now when I go to plugins installed what I see is the WPBakery Visual Composer (which is paid) and can’t upload the js_composer.zip file again, because it says the folder already exists.
I really need your help, because I’m supposed to have this website online on Sunday.

Please try to download the latest version of the theme because through this folder you can see the latest version of Visual Composer (4.11.2) and then try to set it according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ Also, you can update your theme to the latest version because this Visual Composer is tested with version 6.7.1 of the theme.

but as when i get to step 4, where i need to choose the file, the only window that opens up is to my desktop, where i only have the old version. how do i access the new version from this pop up window that appears when i click the ‘choose file’ button as instructed?

To solve it, just update the Visual Composer plugging as follows:
1.- download your theme from the downloads page: http://themeforest.net/downloads
2.- Follow these instructions (deactivate plugging, delete it, upload ONLY the js_composer.zip and activate it):

you should look at using WooCommerce which is likely to have the plugin for Stripe/PayPal.
WordPress themes don’t have ecommerce built in, that is handled by the top three ecommerce plugins for WordPress, like WooCommerce, etc., and then you use different payment modules inside of that solution.
You will likely have a very long wait for “built in” ecommerce capability in any WP theme (like “never”).

you would likely need to find a debug tool and figure out which CSS is not working, or perhaps create a new @media size/breakpoint specific to that phone. The web browser built into that phone might not be compliant with modern web standards like HTML5/CSS3, if its not Chrome-based.
Since the theme is responsive, that means it resizes and serves up modern HTML/CSS based on the “viewport” … so, if you figure out what the “size” your phone is using, you can adjust/create an @media query for that size/shape, assuming the browser on that phone understands modern HTML5/CSS3/etc.
Note that things like Visual Composer, and external plugins are not built by TagDiv, so you’d need to address compatibility concerns for THAT to the respective plugin developer for Visual Composer (WP Bakery).
(( I don’t work here; just lurking today re theme updates …. but above is fairly common sense and might help you with your unique situation … ))

Tried to edit the homepage….but the Visual Composer wouldn’t work. So I did what the instructions were on how to update it…..but I can’t update through WordPress. Its to big and has to be FTPed. Problem is….I think I screwed up and deleted all files when I probably shouldn’t have. Now I am unsure as to what the name of the plugin folder should be to upload it via FTP. Please let me know what the name of the folder should be so I can get the updated plugin uploaded via FTP and I can fix the site.

I fixed mine, it required a Newspaper update and a WP Bakery plugin update that is included with the download of the Newspaper update. It was a bit of a convoluted process, because the plugin was too big to be uploaded from within my WP Dashboard and I had to FTP it. And, normally I wouldn’t download the Newspaper update because I use Envato Toolkit to update the theme from within the site. The Envato Toolkit update did not update WP Bakery.
