Hello,

We do not use any modified version of wpbakery. We simply deactivated the front-end editor, so i;m not sure how you can access it. Please only use the version of wpbakery included in the theme package.
The image issues you face are because you also have td composer active. Please remove td composer if you want to use wpbakery as they will conflict with one another.
As a quick note, you will not be abel to use the cloud library templates if you choose wpbakery as that implementation is tagdiv composer only.

Thank you!

I have thousands of pages on my different websites using WPBakery Page Builder and your Newspaper themes. How do I use both WPBakery Page Builder and tagDiv Composer at the same time while I switch all the necessary pages?

Also I bought plugins for WPBakery Page Builder including the Visual Composer YouTube Channel with Carousel. If I switch to TagDiv Composer, will these plugin work or are there plugins included I can use instead?

We just migrated our site to the Newspaper theme. Our pages were previously built using a highly customized page builder, but with this move I opted to use WP Bakery page builder. I’ve used it on other sites and really like the ease of it.

Once our site was moved, I quickly saw that WP Bakery wasn’t working as expected. I can edit the page builder elements that were migrated from our site, but I have issues when I add a new element or start from scratch, building a new page. The full width elements seem to be working fine, but if I have an image that is less (1/2 page, 1/3 page etc) the image is blown up large, but you can only see a skinny tall rectangle portion of the image. I’ve tried importing different size images and indicating in the page builder what size I’d like it to be, but it always turns out the same. A full page image looks fine, but anything less that than is strangely cropped.

Also the front end editor isn’t working as it should. I can’t drag and drop rows … visually it’s not previewing how the page will look in live editor because the elements aren’t previewing to size (they’re much smaller than they should be).

This is what WP Bakery support is saying: “The newspaper theme used at your end uses a highly modified version of WPBakery Page Builder which in-turn can cause an issue if the site is migrated from a standard page builder version. You can get in touch with the theme author and get rid of the customization code used by the theme author to modify he page builder via theme, so that there is no such issue.”

Any help here?

Thanks!

Hi Catalin,
Thanks for your reply. Regrets, I’m a little confused…
When unpack my theme, I get the following bundled plugins:
https://ibb.co/kAAFJU

When I install the theme, I see the theme plugin page with Visual Composer and TD Composer image as your image shows:
https://ibb.co/mjNedU

In the WordPress plugin page, I see the installations but js-composer(?) shows as WP Bakery with the Nag Notice:
https://ibb.co/cEQMsp

Did I do something wrong? I just figured there was a branding change on WP Bakery. Where does WP Bakery come from?
Thanks again.

Hi,
How can we permanently disable the nag notice:
“Please activate your copy of WPBakery Page Builder.”
I’m activated my theme but don’t want to see this notice for a bundled plugin every time I log into Admin.
Is there a line we can add to functions.php or somewhere else to turn it off?
Thanks!!

I switched the theme from Kalium theme to Newspaper9 theme for my blog ( https://wisehairstyles.com/ ) a few days ago.
I check my blog homepage is broken.
The page should be displayed on masonry blog style of an excerpt with a featured image along with sidebar.
If you click my blog homepage link that you will know that display all 11 posts in 2 pages with no sidebar.
This is the first issue I need a help to fix it.
The second issue is one of my blog post ( https://wisehairstyles.com/100-short-hairstyles/ ) is displaying not properly.
If you click it that you know that the images display incompletely.
I created the post page with the WPBakery Page Builder.
Here, I need a help to fix this problem.

The tagDiv composer has options of it’s own for this. Simply select the viewport and hide the element
https://www.screencast.com/t/fkuD2GDafe
https://www.screencast.com/t/F1uHjs926oO
I am not sure if those classes worked before without WPBakery active, never tried that. If you say that they worked, maybe recent changes in updates affected them.

Hi,

1. Do you use the tagDiv composer or WPBakery? Both have options to hide elements by viewport. But most important, if you have both active the hide element may not work. So if you use WPBakery for example, deactivate the tagDiv composer and check again.

2. Same here, if you use WPBakery to set an animation, deactivate the tagDiv composer.

3. Same here, now it is quite clear you use WPBakery. If so, deactivate the tagDiv composer.

When both are active there will be problems with some elements, which will not work properly.

Thanks

Hi,

No, Wpbakery is not active and yes those classes are for WPBakery but they also works in previous versions of td composer. They are pretty good you can hide any element/row/column according to screen sizes and page size remains the same. I think you should include those classes in newer version of td composer and also tabs in td composer.

Hi,

So the extra classes do not work anymore, while they worked previously. Do you have WPBakery active? I am quite sure those are classes that WPBakery sets for the elements that you hide.
If you want an older theme version, contact us by email at contact@tagdiv.com and request it. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks

I am having a problem with the WP Bakery Visual Composer Plugin. My site went down, and the web server company told me that the crash was due to the WP Bakery Visual Composer Plugin. I’m assuming this was due to an update. But I need that plugin in order for this theme to work. Currently, the plugin is deactivated, but the theme is not working. This is urgent because people are coming to the site. How can I fix this? Thank you.

hello,

Please do not use 2 page builders on the same page and do not use 2 page builders at all. The theme can only accommodate 1. Choose between the tagdiv composer or WP bakery and stick to the one you choose. Do not use both as they will conflict with one another.

Thank you!

Hey Simon C
I’m not using wpbakery page builder. I have build all my pages on td composer but the catch is that before 9 version vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm used to work in td composer which is not working anymore. if have used wpbakery page builder then even after 9 update there should be nothing wrong but I love td composer and that’s why I’m using it.
Simon
could you PLEASE email me the newspaper 8.8.2 version because I have more than 35 pages on my website and building all those pages again is going to take a lot of time and my website will be down whole time.
I hope you understand my problem
Thank you

Hi,

You probably used WPBakery page builder before and it’s settings for hiding elements, try to deactivate the tagDiv composer if it’s active.
The composer will activate itself automatically after a theme update. That could solve the hidden item issue you are having.

Our composer also has options to hide elements, there could be a conflict between the two.
Let us know what you find.

Thanks

Hi,

Those are available only in the tagDiv composer, they will not appear in WPBakery anymore. That guide is quiet old and should have been removed. This is the current guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Most of the new theme features and options will be for the tagDiv composer mainly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

Hi,

I understand what you mean, but I can’t explain the shortcodes and syntax used which appears strange to you. Everything in the code is there for a reason, since the page builder has been built from the ground up.

We made it that it is compatible with Visual composer shortcodes on a level for an easier transition between the two if users decide to do it.
As I mentioned the page builder is always being improved where possible.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused, you could always use the WPBakery page builder included in the package. But with it the new features and the many ones to come will not be compatible.

Hi there,

I’ve been having an issue recently with the WPBakery Page Builder causing a Server 500 Error whenever I activate it. As soon as I deactivate that plugin, the problem goes away but then some of the site features, like the revolution slider which I am using on the home page, stop working.

I’m not sure it is also connected to another issue I am having which I posted about here.

Please can you help solve this problem.

Thanks!

I have a couple of sites using the Newspaper theme, love it!

I know that Ultimate addons isnt a plugin that has been tested by you guys but was wondering if I could get any help with an issue.

I have Ultimate Addons on two of the sites, one of which it works perfectly on. The other when I enable it, it doesnt allow me to use the WPBakery Page builder… I am getting the following error in the console log:

Uncaught ReferenceError: _ is not defined

at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (post-new.php?post_type=page:2809)

post-new.php?post_type=page:2809

When I click through to this file it takes me to this section of code :

<script>

jQuery(document).ready(function(){

// add your shortcode attribute and its default value to the
// gallery settings list; $.extend should work as well…
_.extend(wp.media.gallery.defaults, {
td_select_gallery_slide: ”, td_gallery_title_input: ”
});

// merge default gallery settings template with yours
wp.media.view.Settings.Gallery = wp.media.view.Settings.Gallery.extend({
template: function(view){
return wp.media.template(‘gallery-settings’)(view)
+ wp.media.template(‘td-custom-gallery-setting’)(view);
}
// ,initialize: function() {
// if (typeof this.model.get(‘td_select_gallery_slide’) == ‘undefined’) {
// this.model.set({td_select_gallery_slide: ‘slide’});
// }
// }
});

//console.log();
// wp.media.model.Attachments.trigger(‘change’)
});

</script>

Any ideas as why I would be getting this on one installation but not the other?

I have done the standard checks of, checking if it was the theme, and disabling all other plugins etc. Both sites have the exact same plugins installed on them as well.

Any help would be appreciated!

That seems solved, but the website still is slow. Maybe it would be time to consider to update the theme, update WPBakery and all the plugins.
Using the latest WordPress and such an old theme version would not be the best method. Conflicts may appear and some things will probably not function correctly.

If you should consider it, here is an update guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Make a backup before, to be safe.

Hi,

With WPBakery the row containing the full grid will have to be stretched in order to have a full grid, but the grid may not look as it is supposed to
https://www.screencast.com/t/9VglUHoGOdwo

The full width grids look properly when the page is built with the tagDiv composer. Drag and drop the full grid, that is all. A thing to note is that if there is a background color or image set the grid will not be full width.

Thanks

Hello,

1. The option is gone from the wpbakery page builder since a few versions back when we changed the implementation for the colors. The color settings are available on the tagdiv composer.

2. This can also be done in the tagdiv composer under the css tab where you can manually add the margins and padding for each block in particular overriding the default values.

If you do not want to use the tagdiv composer page builder, then it cna only be done with custom css modification.

Thank you!
