Do we have to delete WPBakery with the new update? It’s not that I love it, I am just used to it and use it with so many other sites. I have found it easy to build pages here with it.

I am working on a temporary dev site URL, so I would prefer not to give out a URL publicly. I can private message if you like.
I do not have caching enabled (being a dev site), but anyway I disabled every single plugin except for one: “tagDiv Composer”. I even disabled “WPBakery Page Builder” and all the other plugins that come with the theme.
Next, I went in to edit the page with tagDiv Composer. I am using flex block 1. I made sure that “A to Z Sorting” was selected in the filtering tab; re-selected it again just in case, and made sure to save the page. Here’s a screenshot:

On viewing the site, there is not A to Z sorting. As you can see below, the first item starts with C, the second with L, the third with A, etc.

My guess is that there is an A to Z sorting, but it takes the names of the three levels of pages into consideration. Something like this
some-domain.com/products-hpi/allergies/cerin/
some-domain.com/products-hpi/allergies/loreen/
some-domain.com/products-hpi/cardiovascular-system/azarten
Where
allergies/cerin
allergies/loreen/
cardiovascular-system/azarten
… are actually sorted alphabetically; of course what I need is:
azarten then cerin then loreen
You can easily recreate this as follows:
– Create the following 8 PAGES (not posts) on a clean Newspaper theme:
Items
Items/Allergies
Items/Cardiovascular
Items/Dermatololgy
Items/Allergies/A item
Items/Allergies/Z item
Items/Cardiovascular/C item
Items/Dermatology/B item
Create a page with a block (I am using flex block 1 but had the same problem no matter which block I used)… and ask for A to Z sorting.
See what you get.
My guess is that you will NOT get an alphabetically sorted
A Item
B Item
C Item
Z Item
but rather
A item (Allergies/A item)
Z item (Allergies/Z item)
C item (Cardiovascular/C item)
B item (Dermatology/B item)

1) Is it necessary to create a child theme?
2) If I update my theme in future will I lose all custom CSS if I don’t have a child theme already?
3) I have added all my CSS to a theme panel custom CSS CODE field, is there any way to add that CSS directly to theme? If yes then where to add, in the parent theme, or in a child theme?
4) If a child theme is really good for safety then please guide me step by step to create a child theme of my parent theme.
5) In plugin section, there is two-page builder plugin one is td -composer another one is wp bakery page builder, Is it necessary to keep both or one is enough to build any page? If one is enough then which one should I use.
6)How to use tagDiv Multi-Purpose? And how can i take benefit from this plugin?

That would be a very old version of theme, if I understand correctly you are still using theme version 6. It is always recommended to keep both WordPress and the theme up to date. Updating just one or none when updates are available is not the best practice.

Update the theme by FTP if possible, that would be the best method to update. Make a backup before updating

A thing to note is that once you update the tagDiv composer (introduced in 8.0) will be automatically activated. Visual composer elements in pages may not display properly if the tagDiv composer is active. Deactivate it and leave Visual composer (now named WP Bakery page builder) active. Update Visual composer and there should be no issues

WPBakery is formerly known as Visual composer, they changed the name of the plugin. But that is not important if you do not use it.

1. Do you use any caching or CDN? If possible try without any of these as a quick test. How the website loads could be affected by such services. You can check the live theme demo, see how it loads

2. From what I can see you use stretched rows with blocks. The images may look blurry, the same thumbnails will be used, as in a non-stretched row.
You could use the flex block which allow you to choose a thumbnails size, this would be more suited for full width. Or use Full big grids

If you use WPBakery page builder for your website, remember to deactivate the tagDiv composer after you update. When both these page builders are active there could be problems with some elements.

Dear team,
We are managing a news website on which we need to pull in posts from other sites via rss feeds.
In order to do so, we are using CyberSyn plug-in which pulls in posts from the other sites. This plug-in has the option to send the reader to the original post once you click on the thumbnail or the title of the post.
I have noticed that this functionality only works when the posts are displayed on the search page(after performing a search for the imported posts).
However when the same posts are added within a block in the Newspaper theme, clicking on the posts directs you to the local copy of the post.
Is there a way we can make any changes to the theme to also bring this functionality to the blocks?
If not, can you probably recommend an alternative method which will bring us the same functionality?
We have also tried to use the WP RSS element from the WP Bakery builder, but we need the posts to appear as if they were part of our own site. The WP RSS element displays the posts in text only.
Last but not least, i’d like to thank you all for the effort you put into developing this wonderful theme.

Check if the tagDiv composer is active. Deactivate it if that is the case. Then clear all caching and check if the WPBakery element is displaying properly.

That would mean that you have purchased the WPBakery plugin, that is why it is premium. We provide a bundled version of the plugin in the theme package as well.
The newsletter element we provide can only be used with the tagDiv composer. This element will simply provide some design for the form you use, nothing else. So you could simply not use it, embed your form in text elements and display it where you want with the WPBakery plugin.

This is added by the multi-purpose plugin. This plugin will add more elements to the tagDiv composer list

Since the tagDiv composer is now the main page builder of our theme, the multi-purpose plugin and newsletter plugin will only work with it, not WPBakery. So deactivate and remove them if you use WPBakery, there is no point for them being active.
There are many newsletter plugins online, simply search for them and try some. Choose the one you like best.

You can’t add custom row layouts in the tagDiv composer, this is not an option with the current plugin. Maybe in the future it will be, I am not aware of such plans however.
If none of the existing row/inner row layouts are useful for your website, the only option would be to deactivate the tagDiv composer and use WPBakery page builder. I believe this has options to add custom row layouts.

Seems that could be a possible layout issue. Similar problems happened when both composers are active at the same time and WPBakery page builder was used on posts.
Posts that were built with the WPBakery page builder will not look properly in terms of layout when the tagDiv composer plugin is active as well. Deactivate it and check if this has any effect.

In some cases when 500 messages are displayed it is caused by low WP memory. The minimum recommended value would be 96M but it should be as high as possible. Many users have resolved similar issues by increasing the memory

Gradually he memory is depleted, as plugins will consume most of it. That could be why there is no problem with WPBakery disabled, and a problem with it enabled.

You can only add tabs in our thee using the wpbakery page builder. But it can only be used on pages. Our theme does not have any options to add tab elements on posts.

Managed to fix the 404 error…but I am still unable to resolve the conflict between the Bakery Page Builder. I still get the 500 Internal Server Error whenever I clicked on “Edit page”. Homepage blocks completely missing. The inner pages do appear but have the following text in the description box:

I am facing a major problem with my site.
At first, I was just getting a 500 Internal Server Error whenever I clicked on “Edit page”. When I deactivate WP Bakery Page Builder this issue is resolved (but I, of course, want to be able to use this).
However, I’m now also receiving 404 Not Found error whenever I try to navigate to a page URL on my site. So I am utterly confused about what’s causing these issues.
I am attempted to reinstall the theme, reinstall the plugin and still no fix. I have also contacted my hosting and they instructed me to provide the following info to yourselves: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method td_util::get_post_meta_array() in /wp-content/themes/Newspaper/page.php on line 21
Which I assume relates to the following:

Hello, I have several questions/bugs to solve. Better to ask everything at once. I’m using newspaper 8.7.3 with the demo nature.
1 – When I use an anchor in a post, it causes a shift of the whole page, as if a negative margin-top was applied to the body. The main menu is cut, and a blank space appears in the footer. See there : https://www.screencast.com/t/mZg5LxvxI

I’m reaching you today for something that looks simple said like that, but actually isn’t (I guess like most requests people are asking) :
– In fact, I’d like my Homepage post block on my homepage to be fully clickable (like the Big Grid Full 1).
It doesn’t matter if the Homepage post block becomes clickable everywhere else on my website, since I can use the css pointer-events trick to bypass it.
I guess it’s “just” an html copy-paste matter, but what to copy and where to past is my question.
– Lastly, how can I make the Big Grid Full blocks go true fullwidth ? I didn’t find any way in hell to do so yet.
Even with the force content stretching function of WPBakery (I know I should use tagDiv composer, but hey, old habits die hard), every blocks are boxed.
By the way, I use the same template (almost) everywhere : td-post-template-8-box. Is there a causality link ?

after installing the theme, additional plugins were added Revolution Slider and WPBakery Page Bulder.
plugins were taken from the archive with the theme, now the plugins require activation. how to do it???
