I’ve been reviewing the demos which come with the theme, and I can’t figure out how some of the blocks of info look the way they do. Here are some examples:

Behind the big grid 6 it has a grey background, but I can’t figure out how to do the same on mine.

The block titles have a red background. Where is this set?

The big grid 4 doesn’t have any gap between the grid images and the underside of the header menu.
How is this removed?
There seems to be a whole lot built into these demos, but I cannot see any way to customise them in the way that these demos exhibit.

i have two questions:
I would love to display blocks in that new “are” design (inspired by Pinterest. I understand we would need to develop it, but could you please give me some pointers on how to do it?
At the very minimum I would like the title of the post to be on a solid strip below the image without any overlays on the image. (maybe there is something I could do in “grid” block about it?)
Ideally I would like cards to be of different sizes (pretty much like you have in the block 8) just with titles on a solid strip under the photo and with some margins between the posts.
Question about image sizes:
we would like to use “ad” options to put our own images of sponsored projects. We would like and mix them in amongst other blocks as much as we can. What are the image sizes wo that they fit with the overall design. E.g. how long is ⅔ of a screen (if i select that option in columns on the main page) or how tall is one section in block 21? – so if i place our image to the side of that block they visually line up?

Hello thanks to answer my questions. I try as you indicate me and the module 15 show below the page builder content as the template layout was made. It is possible that this module show up on top? as main post feeder?
The solution you gave me to use a text box with photo made the idea I want with big header and below the photo but must be made manually and we would like a module that feed automatically as regular module or block.
If there isn’t any solutions it is possible to modify the block 13 on visual composer to move the head on top of the photo instead of below?

Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction. I followed all of the steps and deleted the previous versions, then updated the theme, visual composer and social counter plugin.
A couple things:
– The social counter has been deleted from the sidebar. I also had “Most Popular” and “Categories” in sidebar and they are gone as well. How can I get those back?
– The text color in main nav bar went from white to black. I went into theme panel (Theme Color –> Main Menu) to edit and it won’t let me; it gives me an error message and pop up that says “Background Request Blocked – A background request to WordPress was just blocked.” It gives me the option to “Whitelist this action” or “Dismiss.” But, it won’t let me click on either. I click outside the dialogue box and the loading square just spins and spins, and I have to reload the page. This happens when I try and do almost anything in the theme panel. How can I fix so I can make these (and other) changes? What do I need to do to whitelist?
– My original issue with Visual Composer not being able to edit via pencil icon is not fixed either.
Please let me know what I can do to fix these issues.

Background color on main menu: (White) Text: (black) hover: (orange) (if I change main menu background color in theme panel to background color #eeeeee the text stays black, orange hover disappears and white blocks highlight menu links. I Would like main menu #eeeeee and links and hover to stay the same, no blocks on hover.
Mobile : share button only on mobile (green phone) want to remove.

The theme is written according with WordPress standards and it’s optimized for best performances. However there are many factors which can influence site’s load time. I’ve checked your site with google page-speed and from its reports i’ve noticed that there are a few images which slow the load time. Try to optimize the images following google’s docs: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/OptimizeImages Also you can use leverage browser cache to reduce the size of the css/js resources served by the server: https://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html
To move render-blocking resources in page’s footer you can use Speed Booster plugin. We covered in our documentation at point 5 how this plugin can be used.

Please notice that our theme has been designed to have two cases in this regard -> firstly, please notice that if you want to create a playlist, you will have to add each video ID in Playlist Youtube and secondly, if you want to import a new Youtube playlist from the Youtube, you will have to use the embed method from the Youtube or you can simply add the link of the Youtube Playlist in Youtube Player and you will bring on your site the Youtube Playlist, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/bQKMIzO8k -> http://screencast.com/t/mNttCVRmCF
For your second request, unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option for filtering the posts from the block by Videos, sorry! As a hint, please notice that you can try to create a category with just videos and then you can filter the block by this category. If you do not want this and if you want to develop the filtering system of blocks and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

1. With the YouTube video playlist block is it possible to just load the contents of one YT video playlist from one source instead of adding video ID’s separately. I’ve searched documentation and forums and cannot find a solution.
2. Is it possible to filter a page block to just show video posts, i.e. posts flagged as Video instead of Standard.

This is how the Visual Composer element works, we don’t alter the Visual Composer code or functionality, the theme was designed to support the plugin and we register our own blocks. On our blocks we use add_image size function and the thumbs are used on modules and blocks, you can read more about this – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/ so you can use tagdiv blocks if you want.

Unfortunately the author box element does not use the description only when you click on the author will the theme display the information.
As for the alphabetical order, you can filter the authors by ID in the block settings. You can use the exclude and include sections from here: http://screencast.com/t/i5BsAswEES You can use 2 author boxes and filter one part of your authors in the first and the second part in the other one. You will need the author id’s for this. You can get the id’s like so: http://screencast.com/t/kmUugYM6S so for example if you have 20 authors you would add the first 10 id;s in the first auhor box and the other 10 in the second box.

She is clinging to the blocks provided nit able to envisage any custom changes … PLEASE help!:((

At the moment, unfortunately, this is not possible using our child theme because you will have to register your block in td_page_builder_widgets.php as the widget with add_action and this type of file do not support to be overwritten in the child theme, sorry! At the moment, the only way for it is using this in the main theme.
We certainly plan to extend the theme flexibility in the future updates. I’ve added your suggestion on our list and when the time comes our developers will consider it. This may take some time because we have a long implementation list and we take them one by one.

Your problem originates from the latest version of wordpress. You use an old version of the theme and an old version of visual composer. You have visual composer 4.6.2 but for the latest version of WP you need version 4.11.2 as there were a few compatibility issues that needed fixing. Please updfate your theme to the latest version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then update your plugin by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please also make sure you update the social counter plugin as well after you update.

We get often this question regarding the differences between our themes. I can tell you that the both themes share the same core so their functionality and performances are similar. The main differences are in designs/appearances and the content area width which slightly differs from one theme to another.
