Thanks, but I have two more questions now. First, how can I only show certain categories in the block? All my posts have multiple categories assigned to them, but I’d only like certain tags to show in that block.
Secondly, are you sure that’s the right screenshot for coloring them? I don’t see how to do that there.
Yes you are right.
I want to do this
Posts 5,4,3,2,1 are in catgeories A,B,C they belong to three categories.
I have allowed categories A, -B,-C and excluded categories B and C.
Now I want to click post 5 and to show latest post from A that are 4,3,2,1
It shows only posts from A which are not in B and C also.
Posts X which are only in category A.
The categories B and C are hidden because I use them for mobile so I dont want them to display.
Can you show me the solutions in this filter?
[td_block_16 category_ids=”‘.$rezi.’-4532,-8022″ sort=”” limit=”5″ ]
Thank you in advance!
Hi
If a post belongs to a category which it’s excluded from being displayed in block, it will not be displayed even if belongs to others categories which are set to be displayed in that specific block. For example if you want to display latest posts from category A filtered by latest posts and you have post C included in categories A and B, setting in block filter as not to be displayed will automatically remove post C from that block.
Please make sure that the post doesn’t belong to an excluded category and test again.
If this is not what you mean please provide more details.
Thanks!
Hi,
On home i have 3 blocks with categories. But sometimes latest post with that category is not showing up. Checked if i chose right category ofcourse.
I use block 16 filters as a short codes to show some posts from the some category
http://www.panorama.com.al/barcelona-nuk-i-ndahet-realit-suarez-realizon-triplete/
I want to show latest post from the same category order by Latest post.
I have problems with a post belonging to 2 categories (I have excludet 2 categories with – sign in filter but id does not show latest post from the some category but some old post that are only in one ctagery.)
Please can you send me the code like this?
here is the code that I use where $rezi are the categoriesID separated by ,.
[td_block_16 category_ids=”‘.$rezi.’-4532,-8022″ sort=”” limit=”5″ ]
I want to show 5 Latest post not old ones.
Thank youin advance!
Hi,
I have tested this and it works. Please note that using this solution it will display all post published in the last 2 days(or whatever you wish) and the sort order will be after comments counts.
Please check:

– I have only 2 post published in last 2 days – http://screencast.com/t/A9Dt8xCjTEM

Hope this helps!
Hi john80,
It can be done with custom CSS but it will maybe create other problems along the way. It was not meant do be styled like that.
Use this custom CSS:
.td_block_slide .td_module_slide{
height:650px!important
}
.td_block_slide .td-theme-slider{
height:650px!important;
}
You can adjust the height value as you want. Add the code above in Theme panel->Custom Css area like this:
http://screencast.com/t/VrMX0AJnx
The result should see here: http://screencast.com/t/TIDW2yyKUTe
Thanks!
Thanks Catalin,
would you have a similar css code for adding this additional pixel to block 6 as i have this in use on the front page of my site
http://www.mondialetest.co.uk/mondoarc/
Thanks
Hi
To exclude some specific categories from mega menu add this line of code 'exclude' => '31, 32' in td_block_mega_menu.php like here: http://screencast.com/t/gLk8sgvLA and replace the initial numbers with the category’s id which you want to exclude from menu.
To get the category id please follow this link: http://screencast.com/t/fKn2qrSQ
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

After updating the Newsmag-file and the files of js_composer and td-speed-booster I get a long list of errors like the following example in the head of the page – and also in the backend:
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_block_1 is not set.
/var/www/vhosts/domain/httpdocs/data-directory/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
The complete header of the page incl. the menu and backgroud-image is no more visible.
And all used blocks in the page are invalid (the tags are visible instead of the block-heads)
[td_block_text_with_title custom_title=“My Headline“ border_top=“no_border_top“] ... [/td_block_text_with_title]
In the backend I can’t see the td_blocks in the visual composer menu – the rest of the visual composer works normal.
What can I do to fix the problem.
Thanks
Ralf
Hello,
Please make sure your images are big enough to fit the container. You will have to upload bigger images and with an aspect ratio according to the block you wish your image to be displayed in. For example a big grid 1 uses a thumbnail of 534 X 462. If your image has any dimension smaller than this one, your image will not fit inside the big grid and it will display a grey strip to fill the container. You can also try a plugin if you want to stretch your thumbnails called thumbnail upscale.
If this is not what you mean, please provide more details so we can better understand the problem.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please try to clear your cache and purge your CDN files if you use it. Normally our blocks were not meant to support sticky posts. If you have made any modification to the code, please remove that also.
Let us know how it goes!
Thank you!
Hello,
I have some code created with visual composer inside a page, adding some CSS, custom bg etc. This part works very well, but I want to transfer this code inside a widget that will be placed on the main theme sidebar so it works for the whole site. Unfortunately this isn’t plain html so it is not working.
How can I achieve that?
The code I have from the visual composer is:
—————————–
[vc_column_text css=".vc_custom_1447174742994{padding-top: 90px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;background-image: url(http://www.projectbebest.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/sidebar-form-optin_plain.jpg?id=1151) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"]

Unfortunately that brings us back to the sad lack of customization options, like even making a heading, on those blocks 🙁
Hi
Theme’s blocks weren’t designed to display the price tag and buy buttons. You will need lots of customizations in theme files to achieve that functionality. Instead you can use Products block from Visual Composer which have a similar layout with block 15 from the theme, also have the price tag and buy buttons integrated: http://screencast.com/t/j7J4gsuUWvl – http://screencast.com/t/gLGTgKgVpg8j
If you need a different functionalities which involve other customizations and you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you as we can’t offer customization services at the moment.
Thanks!
Hi
For the moment the theme doesn’t have an filter to display posts by oldest in blocks nut we intent to add this feature in next theme updates. Meanwhile you can add this line ‘Oldest' => 'oldest_posts', in td_config.php: http://screencast.com/t/mWt6d2nynI and this code in td_data_source.php file: http://screencast.com/t/4x14gDsyywv – http://screencast.com/t/v39rRKyufD
case 'oldest_posts':
$wp_query_args['order'] = 'ASC';
break;
Thanks!

Hi,
It’s possible to extend those classes(td_block and td_data_source) and customize their methods (td_block::render and td_data_source->shortcode_to_args) you can look for a guide on web or check the official documentation – http://php.net/manual/en/keyword.extends.php
Use the ‘td_wp_booster_loaded’ hook – http://screencast.com/t/hbykR0wS
Look how the main files are called above the hook – http://screencast.com/t/vSDjTPiD4KK
Beside this you have to add custom new fields in the block settings panel, follow the path and modify the files which handles that area. It a complicated task, a simpler way would be to modify the theme code directly. If you still want to doit from the child theme and you don’t know how i suggest that you hire a professional developer to help you with this customization. You can find one on places like – http://studio.envato.com/
We plan to add more options in the future but i cannot provide details about it yet, we have a lot of features on the list and we have to take them one by one.
Thank you!
Hello,
The problem originates from the number of posts you set to your block. It uses 3 columns so if 10 posts are set, it cannot align the 10 posts on a 3 column layout. 9 would be the best choice here. 10 or 11 will create a blank spot. It needs a x3 multiplier (3/6/9/12…etc) to display posts in every spot.
In any other column layout you would have this problem either it’s a 2 column or 3 column, if you do not set a post number according to the layout.
(The second page happens to have left exactly the number of posts required to fill the columns.)
You can edit a block to set the number of posts from block settings: http://screencast.com/t/7IQuNK1vi
You can also limit the latest articles on the homepage: http://screencast.com/t/uJc05fnQ5cp
I hope this helps
Thanks.
Hi Danijela,

Hey
I am trying to set up a woocommerce-based shop using Newspaper as theme. Now, the woocommerce elements in pagebuilder leaves a lot to be desired, so I wanted to use blocks to display products on shop page.
Any suggestions as to how I can add the price tag and buy button to block 15 output?
Also, as a bonus question, how about sorting by popularity, based on sales?
The template is with a very serious error. Anything I change, create or change the widgets, the template for work. The stop loading images and sometimes displays the following error on the site:
Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /home/olharmtc9s/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_block.php on line 131
My template is only “living” because I had backed up the Updraft.
Hi. I am using Block 4 to view my articles in my site. There are some options for the order i see these. The default is latest. I want to view it by the oldest and there is not such an option. Can I do this somehow? Thanks!
Hi Andrei,
I customized the code as you explained in the screenshots but after uploading the new ads.php my page didn’t load further than the header. Could you please be so kind to have a look at the code below?
Thank you so much!
__________
<?php
//@todo verifica daca ai ad daca nu pune clasa
$td_ad_array = td_util::get_option(‘td_ads’);
$td_no_ad_class = ”;
if(!empty($td_ad_array[‘header’])) {
if (empty($td_ad_array[‘header’][‘ad_code’])) {
$td_no_ad_class = ‘ td-ad’;
} else {
if (empty($td_ad_array[‘header’][‘disable_m’])) {
$td_no_ad_class .= ‘ td-ad-m’;
}
if (empty($td_ad_array[‘header’][‘disable_tp’])) {
$td_no_ad_class .= ‘ td-ad-tp’;
}
if (empty($td_ad_array[‘header’][‘disable_p’])) {
$td_no_ad_class .= ‘ td-ad-p’;
}
}
}
?>
<div class=”td-header-ad-wrap <?php echo $td_no_ad_class;?>”>
<?php
