I am having some problem setting up the sidebar for the Newspaper 8.7 theme. I can’t quite figure out what I’m doing wrong. I have created the widget but I can’t find the categories to put in widget. I see widgets with block numbers but I don’t know which one to pick.
Also, how can I manually change the header logo size. The preset size is too small.
We built the theme using a demo.
https://www.the-new-englander.com/2016/10/06/book-review-surviving-raine/
In the above links, we have an example post, Posts under “Most Popular” and “Hot Topics” are random; in other words, they do not reflect what is popular or hot, in regard to the number of views.
1. How can we set Hot Topics, Editor’s Pick?
2. Most Popular (all time) doesn’t pick the most popular posts even when the view counter is active.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
I tried the 7 day posts block setting to see if that presents the last 7 day popular posts, but “most popular” category is still showing random posts.
Thanks!

How do i fix this issue?
Hi, I have a content posting software that will post to a specified category on any website it has access to. I need to understand how to make this work with the blocks. I can’t seem to find any information on this topic.
If you can provide video or docs I’ll gladly dig into them.
Also, can’t seem to rename the tags, advertising, religion, gadgets etc. my theme is located at https://fbworld.net and I couldn’t get the theme to upload correctly. Please help. Thanks!
Casey
Hi there,
By default, the block is displaying only one category. I’d like to be able to add a second one, and potentially a third one.
Any idea how I can add that? (even if it requires editing the PHP file)
Thanks guys!
T.
I also wanted to know if there were specific dimensions for each block? Sometimes they do not show up centered and instead show only part of a picture I would like to make sure that all photos are centered evenly.
Hi. I’m trying to create a mega menu item using the page id feature. I am using the icon block with button – this screenshot is shown with an alternative style using different icon sets. https://cl.ly/q3Qv
The completed menu https://cl.ly/q47M has the icons drop out.
I would appreciate some help with this. Perhaps I am using the wrong settings on the page to display as a menu. Thanks again.
And, I only have tag-div plugins installed so other plugins are not the issue.
I read that TagDiv Composer is exclusively for page building. Is there a way for you guys to make it available when creating a post? Or can we use the Blocks that are available in TagDiv composer in a post?
Hi,
Please note that 7 days sort order doesn’t work with a cache plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/7-days-post-sorting/
Note that when the “7 days” feature is used on blocks, it pulls from ALL the posts the most accessed in the last 7 days NOT the posts that are published in the last 7 days.
Try to refresh for few times an article and see if your block is getting populated.
Let us know and if you still have issues please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please try what I suggested here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/instagram-data-can-not-load/
This may be related to your server configuration, especially a firewall which might block this.
Thanks!
Hi,
Not sure, it’s possible that this issue with saving settings appears because the server security module blocks the access to admin-ajax.php file or the file it’s not found. Try to verify if this happens when you save settings in other cases in theme panel and also verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
Contact your server administrator and explain the situation, as it’s requested many times during the a save the file it’s treated as threat so it’s banned. You can report false positives to your server administrator to remove it from the banned list.
You should also check the max_input_vars directive from you php.ini file and make sure that it’s set above 5000, you can check this in system status section within theme’s panel:https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If the issue persist please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please note that the featured image must have at least the thumb size, which is used on modules/blocks, to be cropped. Please read more here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
Thanks!
Thanks!
Hi,
Try this code for the title margin:
.widget .block-title{
margin-bottom: 26px;
}
Thank you!
Hello Simi360,
You should regenerate the thumbnails using the Force Regenerate and Thumbnails Regenerate plugins. Please check the following documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
That screenshot is from the ionmag theme or you had ionmag and used the big grid red blocks. They are not available in the newspaper theme. Please remove them and use blocks that are available in the tagdiv composer.
Thank you!
Hello Catalin,
I understood thank you. So it is enough to create a sidebar for each category and use the block which my like and filter it by Popular post from a certain category.
Please is this the correct procedure?
Thank you very much!
Gabriel
Hello,
I have inspected your website and I saw that your AdSense is working fine -> https://www.screencast.com/t/pgugcsPcQG Check if you have an AdBlocker and disable it.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
You can try this code:
.home .td_block_wrap{
margin-bottom: 14px;
}
You can adjust the margin if you need bigger or smaller space.
Thank you!
How to change background color topic in block settings

Please help, Thank
Normally, I use the feature image from video file. The size of image is 1920×1080.
However, my feature image was crop to around 1920×950 and not fit perfectly.
This is my rough site.
Please check sample on post(#EP2).
Here: http://www.nana-tv.com
Please suggest some solution for sloving this.
Currently, I use layout style Block#3 on my home page.
Do you have any way to adjust default feature image size from this theme Block#3 to 1920×1080.
Thank you for your support.
Hi,
The category functionality has nothing to do with the module itself. You will need to edit the theme modules and blocks in order for them to be able to show a custom taxonomy. For that , you will need to create a custom sort order that can recognize the taxonomy. Here is an example of how a new sort order can be created:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/implemented-new-sort-most-popular-among-posts-of-last-7-days/
Thank you!
Hello gabriel79,
Notice that you should simply use a block which you like and filter it by Popular post from a certain category, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/LRYqlNub Please check our guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-block-settings-tutorial/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello StaLau17,
You should use the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.td-blog-fitness .td_block_big_grid_fl_4.td-grid-style-4 .td_module_mx21 .td-meta-info-container .td-post-category{
background-color: green;
color: red;
}
.td-blog-fitness .td_module_wrap:hover .td-post-category {
color:blue!important;
background-color:yellow!important;
}
The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/b5kIW1GzgZmg
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Please how can I remove the category link in the Block 7 widget?
Thank you very much.
Gabriel
