Hi,

You seem to have a custom ad 1 block that is empty right above the grid. Please remove the block https://www.screencast.com/t/2c16f2zgf50

Thanks.

Hi! I notice that when I use one of the blocks in Visual Composer, the page title disappears. For example, here is a page that has no blocks…http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/connect/…the page title “Connect” is still there. But on this page, where I have used a text block, the page title has disappeared…http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/about/. How can I KEEP the page title while still using the blocks? Thanks!

Hello,

I am trying to reproduce this part from the gadgets demo. Sadly, I couldn’t figure out how it’s done. I got this far using the “block 17” with “block header 12” for the title.
Obviously, the blocks look quite different.

The first image should have no excerpt
The secondary posts should start with a dot
The category label should not be visible.

Any suggestions one how to reproduce this?

I’ve published a couple of articles on a website that is currently protected with a login page (.htaccess + .htpasswd), and they all work wonderful. On the frontpage it shows the short version of the article, an image with around 25 words, and in the article itself it shows nice blocks of text.

And today I’ve received my Chromebook and published the first article on it. And then I noticed something weird. On that same frontpage where other articles have images + around 25 words, the article that I’ve published from the Chromebook shows 40 words on the frontpage, which looks a bit silly next to others with less words. Also in the articles themselves, lines just break off when there is still enough space for other words.

I’ve checked the text-version of the article and it doesn’t show any HTML-code that might be responsible, nor does it show any break-offs. It’s just the visual designer and the frontpage that show discrepancies.

To make it even more weird, I went as far as to check the ‘published’ (so not the ‘inherit’) article under de ‘wp_posts’ table in the database to see if there’s anything spooky going on that WordPress doesn’t show. You guessed it, nothing to find there either. I think that it’s meta-posts information, but I can’t be sure. Weird thing is that articles published on a Windows 10 article work just fine.

What am I missing here?

Hello seikology,

You should check and the block settings, because from there you can set your limit post number, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/oJulzrVz

Thanks for the message!

Hello ALM2000,

Please notice that the theme update should not break your website, sorry! Please check our change log here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/JCS5R2TzT because there you will see what kind of changes were made in this update. Most likely, you are using some untested plugins which might interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues which can break your website. Try to make a full backup to your database and make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard and check the results.
Also, if you cannot access your dashboard, you should contact your hosting provider, tell the problem because it is possible to be a problem from your hosting provider/firewall which blocks you to access it.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

The Big grids as well as blocks have options to filter the posts by category/categories
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
You can specify category Id’s from which the posts will be picked, or exclude categories. Also choosing a primary category for the posts gives you control of the category tags displayed on the modules. This is useful when a post has multiple categories and you want a specific category to represent it on blocks
https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/

Thanks

Hello Catalin,

Thank you so much for your reply. However, the result is not what I desired. And it is not your fault. I just re-read my original post and I did not state clearly what I was looking for.

I need the featured image to be on the left side of the page and I need the ad block (ad block post template style 1) to be on the right side of the page. They both need to be right next to each other. With featured image and ad block in the same row… I would like the rest of the post (text, images etc) to show up right below them. Please note that the featured image size on my site is 300px wide and the ad size is 300px wide as well. How can I get the featured image and ad block to show up right next to each other without the ad block to scroll down?

I hope that you can help.

Thank you so much!

I wanted to say that images make up to more page speed than render blocking js and css. I meant to leave them for last and figure out all other implications. If everything else is in chack I can only recommend speedbooster if you say you know how to use it. However speedbooster will not be able top move ALL of the js and css to the footer. It has not been tested with every plugin out there.
Plaese rad the page speed guide again as all the info regarding speedbooster is there as to how to use it. Also please check your system status screen to see if it;s even active dues to plugins: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/

Please know that page speed is not covered by the thee support. We try to help out where we can but please note that page speed customizaion is not covered in the support policy: https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/

Thank you!

Hello,
This happens because of the custom nature of your infinite loading block. The css does not apply properly as the css code was created for pages not posts. In ordewr to replicate the design on posts you should reoplicate this css: https://www.screencast.com/t/jQLkhngrjWnc
Thanks.

Hello,

Unfortunatly as you mentione yourself:

just one simple ( or may be not?) part of it.

We tried to help people implement this and we soon abandoned the idea because of the implications that arose and the complexity of the implementation. That is the reason we do not want to tackle it again via the support until our dev. team decide to implement it officially. There were no simple solutions found. Sorry for the inconvenience but infinite loading is beyond what the support team can offer you at the moment.

Thanks

Hi,

You have said to do two things that are the opposite of each other.

“Please make all other optimization besides the render blocking js and css”

“As for the render blocking js and css you will have to use speedbooster and make the proper code changes”

I know I have to use speed booster… that’s why I just showed you the code it displayed when I activated the speed booster plugin…

Not sure what “ignore google’s position in the list” means.

I asked you a question but it has been ignored.

It was:

In CPanel should I be adding “.css” or not? So: $this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘demo_style’) or $this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘demo_style.css’)

This is a question about your own guide on page speed. 🙂

Images are optimised before they have been uploaded. Google says the biggest is 21kb – small.

Yes, I have already checked other speed guides and done things like going through Cloudflare. I have tested other heavy themes on this same hosting and they work fine. It is just your Newspaper theme.

Thank you

Hello,
It is a style coming from the voice report demo.
Here is the code used to style it:
.td-voice .td_block_template_12 .td-block-title{
text-align: center;
margin-bottom: 40px;
font-family: “Lora”,serif;
font-size: 24px;
}

I’m not sure how you want to change it though.

Thanks.

I replaced the archive, and know I can see only this error:

Fatal error: Class ‘td_block_widget’ not found in /var/www/vhosts/comboz.es/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/newspaper/includes/widgets/td_page_builder_widgets.php on line 3

🙁

Hi,

Each theme module has it’s own required thumbnail size. These thumbnails are automatically created from your featured images
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Here you can see how all the blocks look in different layouts
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
Blocks may change the module used, depending on the layout of the row
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-blocks-modules/
If you have a problem with the thumbnails displayed in modules, please provide a link to your website pointing to the issue, so we can take a look.

Thanks

Hi, Bogdan, thanks for your reply and the concern about the various other cases that can come afterward.

But as you said, there are a lot of things to consider to make these fully compatible. I currently am not looking for the full solution.
I only want to make it work for the single template that I use by default for most of my posts ( no smart lists, isolated templates etc. )

You have written above that:

…. and then the other one grabbed for the next post.

In case you are confusing this infinite scrolling with Auto load next post thing, the both things are totally different. We have discussed separately about auto load next post thing here- https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/need-little-help-with-most-demanded-auto-load-next-post-thing/ but this is a sperate case.

And I noticed that you guys have already helped a lot to make us be able to use the infinite scroll here- https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/implement-infinite-scroll-on-single-posts/

Everything is working already. You just need to help us stop ‘smart sidebar’ once the ‘Visual composer’ based tag for ‘infinite loading’ starts.

One look at the code of http://darnkid.com/illustrations-show-the-unique-bond-between-dads-and-daughters/ or http://www.storypick.com/success-is-the-best-revenge/ ( both using infinite scrolling with TagDiv Newspaper theme along with proper use of smart sidebar) may solve this issue.

If you don’t want to help, I will surely hire someone to do so, but since you guys have already done a lot about this ( https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/implement-infinite-scroll-on-single-posts/ ), I don’t see much point to hire someone else for just one simple ( or may be not?) part of it.

So, please reconsider this post.

PS: Has Probably Andrei L. left the TagDiv team? He has worked a lot on this under this thread -https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/implement-infinite-scroll-on-single-posts/ .

Thank you.

Hello keithrirwin,

Notice that the style of pagination at the bottom of a block can be found here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xjfWp4PLYP From here you can change it. If is not what you mean, provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Please make all other optimization besides the render blocking js and css and ignore google’s position in the list. Image optimization has a pretty big impact.
https://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/speeding-up-wordpress-image-optimization–cms-22057
As for the render blocking js and css you will have to use speedbooster and make the proper code changes as instructed in the page speed guide.
Page speed is a very personal thing and is different from one host to another. Lots of factors kick in and it cannot be a one click job. This is something each user has to do on their own install and figure out what works best for them. There are literally TONS of page speed guides online. Please also check with them as our guide is not a definitive guide on what to do and what not to do. We simply pointed out a few obvious things to improve but there is a lot more to be made if you want to have top loading speeds.

Thank you!

Hello,

The fonts in our blocks are changed from the theme fonts section for each module in particular. Please use these settings: https://www.screencast.com/t/F4Y5mlMQ
You can check this list to see which module is used on which block:

Thank you!

Hi,

I see that you have modified most of the theme elements headings (block titles, article titles) I don’t know what other headings you would like to modify now. If you could provide more information, I will try to point you in the right direction.

Thanks

Have a look at this:

These blocks are place at the bottom of post as an infinite scrolling blocks using tutorial mentioned here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/help-with-infinite-post-blocks-scrolling-in-a-single-post/

Kindly notice the style/design of the title of this block ( shown with the arrow). How can I assign it some other header design amongst 10 such header designs available with us. Also, why this design isn’t the global header design set for my website. Help me design it a bit. Thank you.
