Hi,
I understand your issue. The category page for ‘ulkomaat’ does not display the sidebar. You will need to access the theme panel here: http://screencast.com/t/LpupAEHa
If for some reason you do not have the per category settings, then please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn if you use it. Then check the theme panel again. This should rule out a plugin conflict. If your settings are still not there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-amin so we can take a look. Also include a link to this topic.
Thank you!

That is exactly the code I added when I was chatting with the MaxCDN guy the other night, but we eventually got it working by doing something else. So now something really odd is happening: Everything is working fine when I’m on the desktop version of my site, but not only mobile version. When I pull my site up on my phone, there’s no menu icon to the left of the header, no search icon to the right of the header, and no social media icons in the footer. I can’t fathom why it would be working on the desktop version and not on the mobile as I would assume both the desktop and mobile are pulling the data from the same servers. And I’ve cleared/purged all my caches too.

This technology stuff is a pain is the rear sometimes a lot of the time.

You can try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn if you use it. This will rule out a plugin conflict.
Let us know how it goes and if the issue is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can take a look. (also include a link to this topic)

Hello jaafuli1992,

Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello,
I’m not sure how your sidebars are not being displayed. Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. This shuld rule out a plugin conflict. If you want to remove sidebars from a specific post or category, you need to remove it like so:
category: http://screencast.com/t/kdiTyzzO
post: http://screencast.com/t/Lhpj5dbQv
And from the template settings in the theme panel.
Let us know how it goes.

Hello AlexaB,

Please try my workaround after you have disabled all the active plugins because if you are using some untested plugins these can interfere with our theme and could cause some errors. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, you should not use Photon by Jetpack plugins because we have bad reports about this plugin that create a lot of damage in our theme and we do not recommend to use it.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello @airlift, @ingilizcecin,

I have checked you website and saw the problem with the mobile menu. I suspect this problem that comes rather from your untested plugins which you are using to your website. These plugins interact with our theme and could cause a lot of errors. To avoid this case, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Please try this advice and after this check if your problem is still there. Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

Hi

From your screen I can see that this option is missing: https://forum.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/2015-06-15_13-51-06.png I am not sure why this happens but you can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.

Hello Navneet,

I have checked you website and saw the problem with the mobile menu. This kind of issue does not come from our tag div booster because this type of plugin is tested with our theme and works fine. I suspect this problem that comes rather from your untested plugins which you are using to your website. These plugins interact with tag div booster and our theme and could cause a lot of errors. To avoid this case, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Please try this advice and after this check if your problem is still there. Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

Hi

I am not sure what could cause the difference between the post views and 7 day count post views so if you have any specific details which might help please share it here so we can duplicate the situation on our side and inspect it closer.
Meanwhile try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer and WP Super Cache, clear the cache memory then test the site again. Also you can view a post in browser a fee times then check how both counters are incremented.

Regarding the current implementation for this feature there is a miss-configuration as it display posts from all time not only post from last 7 days. This is on our list and theme’s developers will consider changing the actual implementation in shortest time possible. This may take some time because we have a long implementation list and we take them one by one.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello kapson,

I have checked your website and I saw the problem. I suspect this issue come from your untested plugins that you use them. This type of plugins creates some interference between our theme and these plugins and could cause these errors. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. I have tested this case on my side and everything seems to work as expected.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi,
This issue is dues to the fact that your site’s body tag does not get the theme classes anymore. Please revert your modification or remove the plugin that causes this and your background will display again.
example:
default: http://screencast.com/t/Qnc6MyYiH
your site: http://screencast.com/t/Qnc6MyYiH
Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and check again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

Hello ldquocbinh,

In order to achieve best results, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. After you have done this, please consult the guide below and then check your social counter and see how it works.

1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.6.5. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

2) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.6.5 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.

3)You need to follow this guide to get the requirements from facebook:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours.

Once you followed all the above steps properly and made sure you have not missed anything, (and the social counter still does not work), then you can send an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can further inspect the issue. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can know who you are and what the issue is.

Hope this helps!

Not sure if this has to do with WordPress or Newspaper, but I noted a strange thing. While editing individual post setting https://gyazo.com/0e3d62f1f50b69054865e704547b8286 if I click on a different template and Preview changes and leave the page *without* clicking on Update, the new setting becomes permanent. To ensure it wasn’t due to cache, I went back and forth and seems like there is an issue. You may want to look into it. Thanks.

Hi,

Use the storage in the browser cache for the following cacheable resources:

/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/images/icons/newsmag.woff?10

What should I add to the .htaccess file

I await your news, good job

I’ve been chatting with MaxCDN support. They’ve checked to make sure I’ve added the right code and advised me to purge my cache pull, I guess so that it would re-cache the new code or something, but it’s still not working. I was under the impression that the social icons were tiny image files or something, and not a webfont.

I guess I wouldn’t know for sure, that’s just what I would have assumed.

Try clearing your browser cache (seriously).

Fact is, AdSense doesn’t always work, on ANY browser, or in every spot on a page. This is because a certain type of ad may be served, that fails to render.

If you Google this behavior, you will see common complaints going back to 2010 “why don’t my adsense ads load in Chrome,” “why don’t my adsense ads load in Safari” – etc.

The ONLY solution to this we found on some of our news portals (we have been using Adsense since it launched in beta, btw), is to serve up “text only” ads in certain spots.

This is because some advertisers with rich media, whether HTML5 animations, javascript animation, even old Flash ads (which I think are all gone now?), may time out, if loaded from the actual origin server (meaning they are not loading on Google’s cloud, but the actual advertiser content system/CDN). So, when it times out, nothing shows up.

Turning of ‘lazy loading’ completely for the theme, plugins, etc., can help also.

Used to annoy me to see blank ads in places.

Now I will say, I did have a day last week, where going to my own sites on Safari/iOS9/iPad Air, all the ad spots were blank, but they worked in Chrome. So, there be gremlins afoot!

But put another way, it’s NOT theme related — all the ad spots do is inject the code for Google to fetch and render the “spot” — if it times out, nothing fills the spot.

And I just noticed that the stars from Taqyeem plugin aren’t showing up. They’re appearing as boxes with Xs in them for some reason. I feel like maybe there’s something more I need to have the CDN cache, but I have no idea how to begin trying to figure that out.

Like many, I too have problems with 7 days post views in combination with cache (WP Super Cache). In my case seems to me that “post views” and “7 day count post views” are reversed. In some of my posts 7 days count is bigger than all post views. And yes, I did turn on ajax post count on theme panel.

As I could read here there are a lot of problems with this, and still no good solution. Before using WordPress i was using Joomla. They had simplier approach to this. Popular in last 7 days meant post published in last 7 days that at that time has most hits. In that way you have your newest popular posts listed nicely, and I believe that this would be easier to implement in coding theme.

Can this be done in this theme, maybe in next update?

Hello @aro_007, @sushilk,

Please ensure that you do not have any additional customizations in your child theme which may affect the theme behaviour and also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme. Since the error is encountered only in your child theme and in the main theme everything works as expected, it means that the child theme (the customizations of this files) is the culprit. I have tested on my side using a default child theme and everything seems to work as expected.
If you try my advice and then your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so I can further inspect you setup page. Also, please provide the link of this topic so I can know who you are and what the issue is.
