Hello,

Please increase your system status parameters like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
The issue could be a memory limitation but it could also be a plugin conflict. You should check your browser console when you do not see the error and check it again when you see the error so you can see if there is an error provided that can provide a clue of why this happens.
Right now there is no error on your slider but I can see a console full of errors: https://www.screencast.com/t/Abgfkoq1z1a
please disable all plugins except visual composer and revolution slider, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme. Then check the browser console again (from the browser inspector)

Thank you!

Hello,

If these ad fields are not empty: https://www.screencast.com/t/A1J5N2TQbSz thank maybe these errors in your browser console might have something to do with the disappearing ads:

Featured Images showing small / wrong size – after latest update.

I did some research and tried running the thumbnail resizer and tested my content halfway through to see its results and realized it was creating MORE of the problem instead of fixing the problem that just started (after latest theme update). So I stopped resizer but now many of my featured images are showing as smaller/incorrect size.

I turned off all plugins, went to newspaper base theme (not child) and confirmed that the preview images do not show at full size, they are all smaller and don’t look as good now.

Can you help please? This makes the whole site look bad, it’s heavy content for a magazine publisher with many articles. Example page where most images are now small – publisher’s note still showing correct width: http://mauimagazine.net/read/

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

same as the previous reply. Disable the plugins as this sounds more and more like a plugin conflict:

I meant all these changes what you can do via Newspaper Theme panel. Anyway, actually it works as it should by default. All previous changes come through. I just had one mistake in code, once I removed it, all the main template changes I did before applied to new child theme too now.

Thank you. I use main theme, no child. I disabled all plugins,deleted custom code, cleaned cache, and did all you have told but nothing happened. I still cannot update when I put block in Visual Composer in main blog page.

Maybe there is problem because I use this options within your theme: https://s24.postimg.org/fd319zp1x/image.png (I have to choose something) My main blog “Novosti” is set as static blog page.

When I go to Visual Composer I have to add block to filter categories. So, there isn’t same as your M10 (article display) so I use this https://s23.postimg.org/wymttca57/image.png

Then I can filter categories: https://s30.postimg.org/jrcweclip/image.jpg

But when I click on update https://s30.postimg.org/41i8cof9t/image.png all what I did is deleted and I get this:
https://s28.postimg.org/ckh317yal/image.jpg (like in the beginning).

In my “second blog” I don’t have this problems, probably because it’s not set as main blog.

However, if I cannot do anything I leave as it is. Thank you one more time for patient and great help!

Please use this guide to make your wesbsite load faster: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
The general modal image should work as expected. Iran a few tests but could but could not find any issue with the general modal image. It could be a plugin conflict with one of your plugins. (untested ones are the share buttons and mailchimp)
Also a custom modification can also break the modal image or a faulty child theme.

If the option still will not work on your site, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login to your site and investigate.

Thank you!

Hello,

1. Our theme requires featured images in order to display a thumbnail on the homepage and other blocks. I’m not sure what plugin you used for this but it could not be compatible with the theme

2. Please provide a link to your site so I can inspect it

3. I’m not sure what Sppe Boasting is. Is it the speedbooster maybe? Please use this guide in order to see how speedbooster works: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/

4. Hi,
Sorry but the tested and recommended plugin to use with our theme is wp super cache. That is why we only provide settings for it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

5. In order to move the post views to the bottom of the post you must access each of the post template files and move the post view code further to the bottom of the file: https://www.screencast.com/t/XIB9wqAPY
each post style has it’s own file

6. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

7. Sorry but we have no official method for instant articles. There is this topic where some of our users discuss the issues presented using the FBIA: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/newsmag-media-elements-incompatible-with-facebook-instant-articles/

8. Yes there is. Please use this link and select the different blocks from the ‘menu’: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/

9. Unfortunately you will have to use a plugin for that.
here are a few:
https://ru.wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-social-login/

https://ru.wordpress.org/plugins/super-socializer/

https://ru.wordpress.org/plugins/nextend-facebook-connect/

Unfortunately these are not tested so they could require further customization to work properly with our theme especially our custom login modal.

10. Here is an unofficial guide I made: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/facebook-comments-2/

Hello,

A blank screen is an indication of a PHP error, so try setting WP_DEBUG to true in your wp-config.php file, to see if any error shows up

Alternatively you can disable plugins and clear cache and see if the problem is still there. There could be a plugin conflict going on.

A child theme can also provide such an error so please try to switch to the main theme.

Thank you!

Hello all,

That looks spot on like a js error that causes the theme lazyload animation to break and cause all images to get an opacity of 0 thus making them transparent. Try to disable this from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/dlNbhT0QO1 Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset CDN files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
@Chito, the latest version of the theme is Newspaper 7.6 which using the Visual Composer 5.0.1. The theme works as properly and until now, we do not have any bad reports in this regard, sorry! Try the theme in default state, without any untested plugins, additional customization and check the results.

Thank you!

The new template can have it;s own name as it needs to be registered as a new template unless you want to edit an existing template. As for the child theme, you will have to keep the folder structure intact as shown here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

I am facing few issues, listed below.

1) My site was not using Featured Images, but I added a plugin, and now all first image are added as Featured image. But some portion of my homepage still showing without images. Example

2) I check all those posts has Featured Images, and If I open those post manually once then the home page shows image. But I rechekced post had the featured image from the beginning. I triple checked from dashboard, no post is missing the Featured Images now.

3) How your Sppe Boasting API works, could this causing it? Is there a way to disable and test?

4) Do you have a guide for W3TC? I know you officially recommend WPSC.

5) If I was the post view to show in the bottom of the post instead of the top, below title what I have to do?

6) Do you have a guide for using child theme properly?

7) Do you have any good guide for using Facebook Instant Article?

8) Is there a guide or example or demo where I could see all blocks design, like right now I cant find a way to see whats the structure of Block 15 easily.

9) How to let people login via Facebook/Twitter, and could I use custom login, how to hook it.

10) Any guide to use Facebook Comments properly?

Hi,

I edited and removed your password from the first post. Of course you can use a child theme, just make sure you update it to the latest version along with the theme updates and also you can disable it if something goes wrong. For minor customizations you can use the Custom Css section in the Theme panel. More about the child theme if you want to read here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Thanks

I am not sure what you mean now. As I said earlier, I managed to get it to work by using categories for pages – with the aid of a plugin. However, as you already can loop pages from within the theme (and other custom post types for instance) – it really should be other options there as well, other than category or tag to sort them out by. For instance by using “children of” as a mechanism.

Bogdan,

Thanks for your help, i work with a child theme of newspaper so i have the folder newspaper-child, and the td_config.php are inside of newspaper/includes/td_config.php so:
– i need to copy this folder “includes” into my child theme folder?
– i can add the code for custom-template.php registration over the newspaper folder? in that case what root i need to use for “file” parameter ‘file’ => td_global::$get_template_directory . ‘/single_template_1.php’ ?

thanks again!

Disabling the child theme worked. How do I go about customizing the theme without using a child theme though? Or is there a way I can use a child theme safely?

Hi,

Try this code, remove the previous one and enter this one in Theme panel->Custom Css

@media (min-width: 1140px) {
#td-header-menu .menu-item-5976 .sub-menu .sub-menu {
width: 610px!important;
}
#td-header-menu .menu-item-5976 .sub-menu .sub-menu li:nth-child(n+2) {
width: 50%!important;
}
}

Result – https://www.screencast.com/t/BcZO3vesLwd
