I’ve activated the main Newspaper theme instead of the child-theme and the problem is the same.
Hi thanks. The point is that I’ve not moved my website to https. It’s been working in https for more than 2 years correctly with Jarida theme.
I moved to Newspaper theme last summer. I think it was working also fine at first. But in the last months I’ve noticed this error.
Not sure if they caused by some plugin or by the theme, or a mix of all. I am just checking it. I am using a child-theme, which could be here also the problem. I will continue searching for the problem.

If for some reason your option is not there anymore, please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also switch to the main theme if you sue a child theme.

2. There is no simple way of adding an image inside the block titles, sorry. You cna add a font awesome icon, but we have not tested an image inside that field:

Hi, I didn’t ask for any optimization or customization. I just wrote whatever i faced while playing with this theme, also this is the first time i use this theme.

The Speed Booster is an optional plugin and it works only with the tested plugins.If you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled and I suggest to check this first in System Status. I was having the problem in “Live Preview.” I didn’t want to activate the Child Theme until I resolved the issue. Your information was very helpful though. I didn’t realize that all I had to do was check the box inside “menus” on the left side panel. That should have been obvious. This worked perfectly to get the footer menu, but since we had this chat, now I no longer have any black header menu at all. Checking the header boxes on the left-side panel doesn’t bring it back. Before it had a “customize” message. Now it’s gone. Any ideas? If not, it’s not a big deal.

Also, the booster plugin is not compatible with most useful plugins like akismet, all-in-one seo and so.
Hello: I’m sure this has been asked many times, and I know there is a tutorial available on Child Themes.
I made a child theme and all the CSS is working fine. The only issue is that the black header bar doesn’t have my category menu. It simply has an non-working link to customize it. Is there a simple way to import my header menu from the parent theme, or does this involve a lot of steps and rewriting of PHP files? Thank you. — Larry

1. I have created a child theme and had been working in that. Does this mean that I must delete that and create another with the new install?
2. Will the new install have any impact on my content? Will my content still be there?
3. Does this mean I will have to redo all of my settings?
Also wanted to let you know that my plugins had been deactivated when I noticed the layout issues. I activated the plugins afterwards. Therefore, I don’t think they were the issue.

I would also like to include some text after the title from the content not from subtitle, or excerpt. I know how to strip html tags so it won’t include an image or anything funky, but when I try to put the following code:

$buffy .= $this->get_content();inside the td_module_slide.php I’m getting an error saying:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method td_module_slide::get_content() in /home/site/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/includes/modules/td_module_slide.php on line 47
Is there anything I’m missing? I mean, if some modules can support text from content, why td_module_slide can’t?

I found that code in the theme files and if there is no other option for now I will have to remove the comment from that code until a future update enables this override.
If I may suggest, in this scenario (and others like it) where a methods are being called statically and by design not overridable in via the child theme, you could add some custom action/filter hooks (via do_action/apply_filter) to allow for customization of the content. That way threads like mine would be more easily responded to since I found quite a few around.

We did not implemented yet, but the tested code is there. We will try to make more test in this regard.

I’m using version 7.5 and I just purchased and downloaded it within the week. I’m using the child theme provided by you guys, though haven’t made any modifications to it yet. Longtime WordPress developer and I tried everything. Switched to the normal theme, turned off all plugins, turned them on one-by-one, cleared cache, etc. Nothing.
Problem occurs with Heading styles 9, 10, and 11. I just put that up there as a placeholder but client seems to really like it.

We are using your NewsPaper theme (v7) in our news website and we noted that when a youtube link is inserted that gets auto embedded (via the WordPress oEmbed) that the link stays in the generated excerpt.
I’m the developer responsible for the site and I noticed that you have a function called “excerpt” – inside td_utils that is responsible for generating the excerpt and I also noted that inside that function that you are already removing any variation of the link.
Is there any way for me to access/override/hook to that function or the excerpt creation itself without having to edit parent theme file? I’m using your provided child theme and all edits are being done that way.
My end end goal is to override that function with something like
$post_content = strip_tags(strip_shortcodes($post_content));
# ... rest of the code that trims the excerpt already in your function ...

Noticing that when selecting a 3 column layout as a global category setting, every 4th row contains only 1 module.
Not sure if this is an issue that can be solved by adjusting theme setting configuration or if its a bug, but please see the following example:

- Theme has been updated to version 7.5
- Can confirm that this behavior occurs consistently through at least 27 rows
- No child theme is currently being used

- This issue can be reproduced with every Article Display View that uses multiple columns (M1-M9)
Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
The theme was designed and it works with default post types. For custom types you will need to make changes in the code and unfortunately the td_module.php file cannot be overwritten via child theme.
