Hi,
The Newspaper theme update brings a change for the customers that use WP Bakery Page Builder with our Theme:
When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements
Single image elements work differently in each of the builders, but they use the same shortcode. So there will be design loaded from each builder resulting in a conflict.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
If you want to change the category featured for mobile theme plugin you can make this from wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/front-page.php
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/nzTK270s
Just make sure that the category you set it is in your website and have some post in that category.
Thank you!
here is the link to my contact page.
https://www.thewrestlepost.com/contactus/
It doesn’t display the form correctly. If TD Composer plugin is turned off, then it does.
Hi,
Now that file can be find in -> wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_block_related_posts.php

Just as an FYI, I’ve used the TD composer to create a new header for our home page with the menu that’s broken and our logo, at least so people visiting the home page won’t see the broken menu.
I don’t know how to apply this across all our pages, however, and so anything past the home page still shows the broken menu.
I created a new page on my site and there is an option to use the TagDiv Composer. However, there is no option to use the TagDiv Composer in existing posts. Why is this? I am using the classic editor to avoid the bugs with Gutenberg.
I tried to update my website and it made a terrible mess of it. I managed to restore a backup, so right now things are ok.
I’m not planning to try updating the theme again. I don’t want (to learn) Tagdiv Composer. Every time i tried to activatie there was a lot of stress. I’m not going to do it again.
What will be the consequences when i stop updating from this point? Do i have to choose a new theme?
To be honest: WordPress is for people who want to create websites without knowledge. A website that is working and that on keeps working. You guys made a great theme but your explanation about the update is just not good enough for dummies like me.
(FIXED, I FOUND THE SOLUTION)
Hello,
I have imported and edited a header using cloud library. I configured it using TD composer, but when I scroll down the page the header menu gets sticky but logo disappears (it shows ‘NEWSPAPER’ text and subline, menu shown is different (default is header menu, but in sticky it shows footer menu) and item hover line changes color to default blue.
Sticky show/hide is not controlled from theme panel>header>main menu when I am using header imported from cloud library. But if I get back to my ‘Global Template’ all the issues are gone and logo shows correctly, menu is ok and hover underline is right
What am I missing?
thank you in advance

Hi,
Unfortunately, this issue happens due when you are using a single template default, sorry! It seems that we forget to add shortcode “<?php echo $td_mod_single
->get_social_sharing_bottom();?>” in “loop-single.php”. For example, you have style1 then you can add your custom shortcode at wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/single/loop-single-1.php
We consider fixing this issue in our future updates as soon as possible.
Hope this helps!
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi,
You can use the modified date option that provides our theme to display each date you want on blocks, you can use this option, or use the old one with publish date.
Please check the settings from theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/H7CFzAKVw7 set the option with tagDiv Composer-> https://www.screencast.com/t/OAoAK9oUu make an update on post -> https://www.screencast.com/t/vcQoLkQByxc now check the date of that post -> https://www.screencast.com/t/sKbLrp1jz also you can sort after a modified date -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VSePr63B
Also, the modified date on a post can be set with tagDiv Composer on single post template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/eYkeLqbCqV -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3qCSo9Nxtt
Thank you for your understanding!
Thank you for posting your screen shots. That is exactly what happened to my web site after I updated the Newspaper theme. After I activated TagDiv Composer the site went blank except for a few lines of code.
I restored my site from backup and am going to search for a new theme. What a PITA.

Please note that activating the tagDiv Composer doesn’t mean that you are required to use our custom page builder on your website.
You can use the WP Bakery page builder as you did before the update
We recommended you to do not use the tagDiv Composer and WP Bakery page builders on the same page though, because you cannot edit with WP Baker blocks and shortcodes created with tagDiv Composer or vice-versa.
If there is still a problem, please provide some more details, some screenshots and a link were I can inspect this problem.
Thank you!

I did activate TagDiv Composer and my site went blank after that. I am going to stick with the current version of Newspaper and start looking for a different theme.
The tagDiv Composer is active on my WP.
When I change Post Settings to another style, the share buttons are ok, but this does not solve the problem.
Yes. I got the same thing. When I activated TagDiv Composer my site went blank. I was able to restore from backup. I don’t plan on updating the Newspaper Theme anymore.
Now I am wondering if I need to start looking for a new theme.
Hi Calin,
I had already tried disabling all plugins and keeping only the tagDiv Composer active, but the error continues.
No child theme and no cache plugin.

Hi,
If you want to have a post with sidebar or without sidebar on default post templates all you need to do is to set the sidebar position in post settings -> https://www.screencast.com/t/49UX18PB4h
Or if you are using single post templates from tagDiv Cloud library, you can import some templates with sidebar and some without sidebar ( or edit theme with tagDiv Composer ).
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
Please go in wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/init.php
