Hi,

When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements

Please check the post template from panel or default to other post template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/jwPm1iydc

Thank you!

Getting this error too: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cannot-access-wp-admin-from-mobile/

Disabling TagDiv Composer is a temp fix, as you can re-enable it when you log in.

The fix above, wp-login.php works as a temp.

Hi,

Not taken the chance to update to the new version yet but have a questions regarding WPBakery which I use with Newspaper.

You write that: “4.2 Existing customer previously using the WPBakery Page Builder
This update will bring a small change in the way you work with Newspaper Theme as you will need to activate the tagDiv Composer plugin and keep it enabled.

Go to your WordPress admin area > Newspaper> Plugins and click the tagDiv Composer “Install/Activate” button.”

How is this if you have WPBakery as a separate plugin? I’ve got a separate license for WpBakery and don’t use the version that comes with the theme. Do I still need to activate Tagdiv composer? Last time I activeted tagdiv composer it caused all sorts of problems (and it can’t be used on pages) so I would prefer to avoid having it activated.

Hope you can give me some good advice.

Thanks,
Lars

Very good. That should work.

I’ve been using the Live CSS from TD Composer. What is the difference on using that section?

Is it OK if Ii use for most of the modifications?

Thanks.

Hi guys!
Cannot access the Composer after the upgrade this morning.
It show me this message “Error at zones: 5(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content”.
Also cannot access or download from Cloud Templates.
Any way to fix this.
Thanks.

Never mind. I found it.

Go to your WordPress admin area > Newspaper > Welcome. Click the “Install/Activate Plugins” button. All the plugins in the list will be activated, and you are ready to create amazing content.
Then composer updated. Then problem fixed.

1. I am getting this error on some of my pages after upgrading
wp_booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: 2 is not set.
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
I saw a workaround using TagDiv composer and set new header. But I cannot active my version of composer, nor can I get the new one as it says

Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

Please advise.

Hello,
This issue comes from using a child theme in the current theme version.
Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css and the few files left in the main theme folder as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

Hello,

Please note that the child theme cannot affect plugins.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
What is the modification you made to the templates as maybe you can implement it through the tagdiv composer and cloud library.

Thank you!

Hi all, I’m totally new to this, so please excuse me if I’m just being stupid!

I want to customise the fonts in my blocks on the composer, but in the element settings there are no dropdowns available for fonts, the only font available is ‘default’ and nothing I click on allows me to see any other options.

How can I fix this?

Thank you!

Hi,

The Newspaper theme update brings a change for the customers that use WP Bakery Page Builder with our Theme:

When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements

Please note that activating the tagDiv Composer doesn’t mean that you are required to use our custom page builder on your website.
You can use the WP Bakery page builder as you did before the update
We recommended you to do not use the tagDiv Composer and WP Bakery page builders on the same page though, because you cannot edit with WP Baker blocks and shortcodes created with tagDiv Composer or vice-versa.

Please notice that your support period expired ( Supported until: 2018-06-07 ) we suggest you extend your support if you still need our help with your website.

Thank you!

On the bright side is you do not have to alter the theme code to make modifications to the header. Please read this guide to create a custom header design using the cloud library: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-customize-the-header-manager/

Hi,

Please notice that you can further use the Visual Composer if you want but you need to activate our TD Composer. So, if you want to migrate all of your elements from WPBackery to our page builder, please check the following topic from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/

Thank you!

Hi,

If you want to edit the footer section you need to edit your Footer page, using the TD Composer. After I checking your webiste I saw that you are using the Footer Page functionality for footer section. When you edit it from the composer, you will see the element which has set up the Map from where you can change it to another one, with your location. For that, please check the following useful guide from here -> https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/

Thank you!

Hi, after the update (9./), only one thing doesn’t work anymore.

If the WPBakery Page Builder is used to create a single image, the settings for the size of the image no longer work. It will be truncated and displayed in full size.

I mean these settings:
Enter image size (Example: “thumbnail”, “medium”, “large”, “full” or other sizes defined by theme). Alternatively enter size in pixels (Example: 200×100 (Width x Height)).

In all cases I use “full” and the pic fits to the column.

The problem used to exist, but only if the TagDiv Composer was activated in addition to the WPBakery Page Builder. Then I just turned off the TagDiv Composer and the problems were gone. Now the TagDiv Composer has to be activated additionally. What can I do now?

Thanks, genloc

Well, no I can’t, I’m not a theme support 🙂

I gave them and others insights how to solve a problem they’re facing with after upgrade.

Just open your header template file found here
/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/header/header-style-*.php, locate a line

require_once(‘header/ads.php’);

and replace it with

require_once(‘ads.php’);

Hi,

The problem is in bad path to ads.php

/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/header/

Some of the header-style-*.php files have a path header/ads.php instead of just ads.php

After correcting this path everythign worked like a charm.

I just checked my templates, but the problem could be persistent in other templates too.

Hope it helps.

Dear Team,

Since the 9.7 update, there is a problem with Exchange Flags.

Cheers Rick

Thanks for your reply Calin,

I followed your instructions and I found out that was a problem with WP Super Cache. I tryed to reinstall it after deleting but still get this error in tagDiv Composer.

Did you have any suggestion about caching plugins?
Thanks again!

Hi,

If you want to set some code in td_block_10.php you’ll need to go in wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/modules/td_module_10.php -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6XvDFXEQKy3

Thank you!

I forgot to mention you need to add the plugin js_composer.zip manually and you will see the social sharing icon will appear.
