I have just used FTP to update to newspaper 8.6 and I have also updated the plugins that followed with the update, but “tagDiv Multi-Purpose” does not work at all, so I need some help getting it to work.
It is installed and active, but does not show its functions in the “tagDiv Composer!”.

If the theme is uploaded properly there should be no problem. The most recommended method in the matter is by FTP

You could try to reinstall the theme, reinstall all theme plugins from the latest theme package. The error seems to point to the tagDiv composer, deactivating it should have an effect.
If possible try deactivating all other plugins, leave only theme plugins active. Clear all caching after doing this and check the results.

your theme (newspaper) is awesome and I’m very happy I’ve purchased it. But I have a problem with the composer.
Usually I use qtranslateX for my sites and I’ve noticed that after activating qtranslate, the composer is not fully working anymore. I can’t save or delete a block.
so when i’m trying to drag a block into the red rectangle or clicking on the delete icon, nothing happens. even when I click on the X to close the composer, nothing happens.
the error in the console seems to be: “TypeError: e is undefined” in load-scripts.php:609:1538
now, i understand that the theme is compatible with WPML but I use qtranslate only for translating post titles and content (which works fine btw), so what i’d like is to get this error removed when qtranslate is enabled.
is this possible? can you guys do that?

Hi,
The composer should work properly using the latest WordPress version, there is no need to downgrade. Regarding PHP versions, the theme is tested with versions up to 7.1 anything higher may cause issues.
First steps would be deactivating plugins, child theme, also trying the composer on a new page. The system status recommended values are mentioned here, but I believe you already seen the guide

The authors box can be used on pages built with the composer, or as a widget in sidebars for example.
The team member is one of the many multi-purpose elements introduced in the 8.5 theme update. The multi-purpose plugin was made available, to be used together with the tagDiv composer. It ads many items and functionality to the builder

I just updated the newspaper theme from an older version 7.4 to the latest one, I created a new folder for that with a different name (newspaper1) and uploaded the new theme there, then activated. All good expect when I checked the website on my mobile I got this error right below the main menu and blocks are not showing :
Fatal error: Call to undefined method vc_row::set_font_settings() in /home4/u5k5z9h5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/tdc_composer_block.php on line 36
Desktop version works fine.
I tried to disactivate the tag div composer plugin but the error is still there.

i have a big problem with TD composer, it has worked 2 times and since it load to infinity,
i checked the other posts on this topic, so i increased my cache from 40MB to 128MB,
i disabled all the addons, emptied the cache, i tested with OPERA, Chrome, Firefox, with and without addons,
i tried Visual Composer it works perfectly, but i would like to use TD Composer! and it’s just impossible I have no more solutions 🙁 maybe downgrade WordPress/PHP ??
How do I change text/strings on a page? I can’t change actually everything using tagdiv composer. On example if I want to change text under logo on bottom-left of my page(http://dev.mega-media.hr/). How do I do it?

Also, do I have the option to change the date from of my posts to update date as stated below?
“I regularly change the date of posts when updating a post so the date is current, though the theme I use has an option to change the text associated with the date, so rather than it saying something like “Posted On Date” I use “Updated Date”: basically not suggesting the post is new, indicating the post was updated.”
what is the proper image size ratio for the Tagdiv composer single image element so that whether it be on mobile, tablets, or PC the image will fit and not be cut off? I have to give an image wired sizing just so that they can fit, therefore some look strange and disproportionate on the different platforms.

You will need to use a custom footer design if you want t move things around. In the current version there is a possibility to use a page as a footer if you install the new multi-purpose plugin. This way, you can create a new page with the tagdiv composer and set it up exactly as you want the footer to look and then simply set it from here: https://www.screencast.com/t/n7JKyAodDQyF

That would be the only solution. Only one page builder should be active at a time. Single image elements are affected by both composers when they are simply active, they have a different functionality in each composer.
For example the tagDiv composer uses the image as a background in the single image. Visual composer single image has a different implementation. When both are active the single image will not display properly.
You will have to eventually decide on the composer you want to use, and deactivate the other. Simple as that. The tagDiv composer is considered the main page builder in the theme and it will receive many more features in the future.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The ‘TDM’ pictures cannot be removed. They are required by the tag div multi-purpose plugin elements. They are placeholder images that are needed for the proper alignment of the elements when adding them to the tag div composer.

Seems that this option can cause problems, we will fix it as soon as possible. In the next theme update most likely. If you have used that option please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information. Or even if you did not use the option and the composer is not working for you, contact us by email for investigation.

The Revolution slider plugin as well as the Visual composer editor plugin are provided pre-activated in the theme package, and you do not have to activate either of these. You already have full access to the plugin features and you can use it without activation. Updates for the plugins bundled within the theme package will be included in the theme updates.
Please ignore any at all activation messages from Revolution slider and Visual composer.It’s just a missing condition from the plugin authors for these versions and we cannot make any changes to the plugins as it will break the license agreement we have with the plugin authors.

Our theme needs the widgets to be placed inside a widget sidebar element. Our theme does not support standard sidebars but sidebars grabbed through a tagdiv composer element. That is why it will not work from the live preview button. Please use the tagdiv composer and the widget sidebar element.
As for the social icons, please clear cache and reset cdn files.

Please do not use both visual composer and the tagdiv compose. You most likely used the visual composer page builder on posts to create your content. The new tagdiv page builder will conflict with that so you will need to disable the tagdiv composer plugin.

In the home there are only default theme placeholders displayed, that happens because the necessary thumbnail is disabled. I see you use module 18, so enable this thumb size (Theme panel->Block settings->Thumbs on modules/blocks )

I see this topic has been asked several times. I need a response with a solution, please.
1. BOTH COMPOSERS ARE NOT BEING UTILIZED ON THE PAGE – please do not tell me to deactivate one plugin or another, since the theme relies solely on TD Composer yet my content relies on Visual Composer. They’re not being used at once on the posts or pages, so this isn’t a ‘solution’.
2. Please tell me where in CSS code I can remove this custom cropping that Newspaper or TD Composer is forcing upon my pages. When I say I want to add a single image in Visual Composer and put in a custom size, I need that custom size to work. I have multiple posts and pages this is happening to.
Again, I’ve searched for this answer in the forums and while there are several threads, all have the same response: deactivate one plugin, or the other. NOT A POSSIBLE SOLUTION. Just tell us where to modify the code, please.
I need to launch this site within a few days, so a timely response is appreciated. My last requests never even got a response.
Attached is a photo of the images. They are all supposed to be 100px in height, but something is overridding it, and I can’t seem to find where/what is causing this while using Inspector.
