Features not included with the advertised theme can be added by anyone, if you want to add them. That’s why there is a demo before you buy to see WHAT it can do, not what it “might do someday.” No theme does everything for everyone. For folks who want custom logins, you should use a plugin (any plugin is generally agnostic with any theme; you don’t need to wait for recommendation — go do what others do trial/error what works for YOUR USE CASE .. your site is yours, and only YOU can make such choices).

A $50 theme doesn’t include $500 of free coding and doing the hard stuff for you. You have to do that yourself — in customizing your site beyond what a theme can do. The default login for WordPress is the default WordPress login — you can change that with custom functions if you want to (google it).

There isn’t really a need for a ton of “add ons” for theme — that’s what plugins are for. For example why add ecommerce to theme when there are three giant ecommerce solutions. Why add membership plugin to theme when there are many highly rated?

Helps to have realistic expectations.

Give ME a break.

I created a folder to use it as child theme with 2 file of function.php and style.css with the code below.
function.php
<?php
add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘enqueue_parent_styles’ );
function enqueue_parent_styles() {
wp_enqueue_style( ‘parent-style’, get_template_directory_uri().’/style.css’ );
}
?>

style.css
/*
Theme Name: montreal
Theme URI: http://hafteh.ca/mtl/
Description: Newspaper child
Author: John Doe
Author URI: http://hafteh.ca/
Template: Newspaper
Version: 1.0.0
License: GNU General Public License v2 or later
License URI: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html
Tags: light, dark, two-columns, right-sidebar, responsive-layout, accessibility-ready
Text Domain: montreal
*/

But when I activated the child theme and download the demo all blocks are broken and the sidebar is not in its place, It is not possible to put two blocks beside each other and …
The URL is this: http://hafteh.ca/2017/mtl/
Please help me to find out how can I have a child theme.

Hi

I installed the newspaper theme for our magazine, and went with the world news demo.

I cant seem to remove “latest articles” from the bottom of the page – i want them on top, and then “featured, or “suggested” at the bottom, neither can i edit/remove the content in the black box at the bottom of the page just above the footer – i managed to install some weather widgets, but want the rest gone… (cant you give location based weather, or is it really so, that i have to fix the location?).

Hi,

Installing the demo with content will import the homepage structure as well. The result should be just like the live demo, only the dummy content will be different
https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
If you installed it without content this will import theme panel settings, and custom design. Please try installing the demo you want again with content, and let us know if everything worked as intended.

Thanks

Im looking at the architecture demo. I also see it my testing environment.

You will see many of the blocks have a gap between the title and author. {block 3 and 5 as an example} Its a large gap. An example is visible in sidebars which are visible on all posts. I see while inspecting it, there is no excerpt there, but the space is there via css. If I add a review to the posts, the author disappears and the gap is left there for the author.

I wonder if this is expected? If its a matter of settings, any suggestions that may point me toward the correct settings would be appreciated. I adjusted via css, but thought Id point it out in case its settings or a css booboo.

Hey Simion,
Thanks for the help.

Also, I want my site’s homepage to look exactly like the “Gadgets” demo. I have installed the demo, but the homepage has not changed. Could you guide me how to do that?

Hi,

You can change the block header style. This block header style provides a button that directs to the category page used in the filtering on the block
https://www.screencast.com/t/eUVG7CeABKjA
https://www.screencast.com/t/HGtywXB2wPe
These are the currently available block header styles, some display the ajax filter differently as it can be seen
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-1/

Thanks

Hi,

The image that the demo uses as header background can be found here
https://www.screencast.com/t/5FpdBdevD
The dimensions of this demo background image can be seen by inspecting the image
https://www.screencast.com/t/qfl8RrxCi8L
You could replace it with an image of your own, just make sure it has the same name and format.

Thanks

Hi,

Some of the demo menu links do not have demo about pages. There are a few that do
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_travel/about-2/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_cars/about/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_craft_ideas/about-me/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_baby/about/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_classic_blog/about-me/
You could use these for inspiration, and create something original.

Thanks

Hi,

Those are the styles that are available for the image box element. One style adds a border and opacity, the other adds a white box in which a custom title can be displayed
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/image-box/
https://www.screencast.com/t/d6U8PwaMJ
You could choose the white box style and this code will remove the white box, if it is not required
https://www.screencast.com/t/axZ1AbMy

.td_block_image_box .td-custom-title {
display: none;
}

Enter it in Theme panel->Custom CSS code section.

Thanks

Can you tell me what dimensions I need to replace the “images/header-bg.jpg” in the voice report header with my own image? Also I don’t see the demo image in the wordpress media library. Can you tell me where it is located? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply, Simion.

If you don’t mind me asking for your assistance once more: all the About Us links I have found in demos so far are merely empty anchor tags, not actual About Us demo pages. Are there any you know of among the demos?

I have no trouble laying such a page out if I were coding it myself; this being my first foray into a themed framework, I’m still adjusting to the elements available to me, so inspiration along this line would be quite helpful.

Thanks!

Don’t mind this. Used module 5 and styled it with css to look like the demo.

Hi to everyone,

A little qeustion for you please:
I used demo magazine on my home page;
I edited it and i noted that there is a box set 2/3 + 1/3:
inside 2/3 part there is another “box” 1/2 + 1/2

How can I do that?
See the picture:

a 2/3 + 1/3 structure
and the partciular of 2/3 on the left

a box inside another box... how?

You see:

Block 1
Blcok 15
Block 2 + Block 2

How can I insert the two Blcok 2 in the same box of the Blcok 1 and Blcok 15?

Thanks in advacne for your answers

Hi. I am using the Say What demo and I was wondering if it is possible to show the excerpt in module 3. I tried to modify the block but it broke the theme.

Hello

I installed the NewsPaper theme using a Child Theme and then imported a demo. Now I try to modify the home page using TagDiv Composer and it does not work.

When I try to add any element with the visual editor it does not.

I have tried to disable all plugins, to create a new page and it always happens the same.

What I can do?

Thank you.

Hi,

Simply select the Filter by categories, and all your categories will be displayed, starting from the block title position
https://www.screencast.com/t/e1lSQ2PGEwc
Specific categories can be shown by filtering them by ID
https://www.screencast.com/t/2bDU4mbTE
Please make sure the categories have posts in them, in order to be displayed in the filter.
There are block header templates that display the categories differently by default, like these ones
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-8/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-14/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-15/

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your appreciation. Pages can be created in any way you like, using the available elements. At the moment there is no guide for creating these specific pages, but you can use any block, grid and other elements
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/
There are also text blocks, single images and image boxes, slides and many other items that can be used on pages. You can maybe take inspiration from About us page examples online, or experiment and create an original design.
Check the live demos as well to see what can be achieved with the theme
https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper

Thanks

Hi,

The demo categories can be removed just like any normal WordPress categories
https://www.screencast.com/t/SKOphrK0VP
The blocks and other elements can then be configured to display posts from your own created categories

Hi,

You can simply edit the page with the composer and change the block template header style, to the one you want for each block on the page
https://www.screencast.com/t/3R8S16sWrc
Here you can see all the available block header styles
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-1/
Also more useful information about the block settings and options here

Hi,
I’m using one of the demos and setting it up on my staging site. There are quite a few categories that came with the demo that I don’t want. How do you remove a category?

Thanks,
Roooo

i’VE BEENI’ve successfully turned off comments/views on the psts, but my client also it wants it remove on the home page.

On the home page, main newspaper demo, I am attempting to remove the samll grey box that I believe is the comment number, currently zero since the site is new.

I search the form, found where to go in theme panel and set this to off, but it still shows on home page. Any thoughts please?

I uploaded the images to another service. Here’s what I’m going to try to explain. I noticed that there is an image in conjunction with a demo theme on the mobile theme of the demo tech theme: https://imgur.com/T4ZlcIj.
Then I went to my website and saw that a gradient appeared too, which is what I want, so there is no confusion: https://imgur.com/r7jmp3j
However, this gradient does not remain. When you refresh the page, it looks the same as I reported: https://imgur.com/9SekzqG

I hope you understood my problem. I’m using Google Translate, so there may be a bit of confusion.

Hi!
I installed the Architecture Demo in my site, but I want to change the Block Title design.
Now, the Technology block title is: https://image.ibb.co/ik1BM5/Captura_de_pantalla_2017_09_19_a_la_s_09_23_01.png and I want it looks like the Newspaper Default: https://image.ibb.co/mQw6ok/Captura_de_pantalla_2017_09_19_a_la_s_09_32_00.png
I tried some changes in custom html/css and edited the .css files of architecture demo, but nothing has worked.

Thank you!
