Hi Catalin
Thx for your reply.
Ok for 1 and 2.
For 3, It seems it’s fixed on your example : http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-five-reasons-why-in-form-leicester-city-will-finish-the-job-and-stay-up/
Thanks Catalin, that’s great thanks so much for getting back to me.
I have another question about menu’s. On the Default Newspaper demo theme, when you hover over ‘Lifestyle’ and ‘Gadgets’ in the top menu, you get different styles of dropdown menus. How do you set and customise these?
Thanks.
Hello,
If you want to move your post’s header title up, abode the breadcrumbs, you will have to do the following changes, like this (example for using Post Template Style 1) -> http://screencast.com/t/9SglPtTg and http://screencast.com/t/p9Hw5neO and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/YNGZVTha6AS So, if you are using another post template you will have to do these changes to the corresponding files with your post template used.
Please try to check our demo tutorial and there you will see that our sidebar is responsive for every device. Try the theme without any untested plugins which could interfere with the theme and might cause a lot of unknown issues.
I do not exactly understand what you what to achieve if you get rid of it the Search icon? Please notice that this is just a simple item from your menu, added as a span with in li and if you are deleted it, the menu items will be displayed as properly. Provide more details, you can add some useful screenshots so I understand what you want to achieve.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Dustin,
Please notice that all of our demos were custom made and the simplest way to achieve that layout is to install the Recipes from our demo layouts and try to customize it by your desired. Every demo has a special class with a custom CSS code that applies only to this case and if you want to recreate the Default theme to have the Recipes, please notice that is not a simple and this involve custom work. As a hint, please notice that all of the custom CSS code for Recipes you can find here -> http://screencast.com/t/QOqjsWcDl2Hd
For your second request, if you want to hide the meta info container for a post from a certain category it is necessary to make some additional customization through code that involves custom work. If you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
I am trying to replicate the layout from this demo page:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_recipes/category/recipes/
Instead of showing the author, date, and comments, it shows the category above the post title. How can I do this?
Also, is it possible to hide the author, date, views, comments, and social media buttons at the top of posts within certain categories?
Thanks.
Hello dana,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such control over these parameters. As you can see, this is the default theme behaviour when you share a post on facebook, as you can see in our demo, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/mjxuSWhmeB7 So, if you want to have more control over these, you will have to use the SEO Yoast plugin because this is tested with our theme and seems to work as properly. For more information about meta tags, please consult here -> https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello brandontrimmer,
First of all, I want to thank you for your interests in our product. As you can see, our theme is very complex with a lot of features and if you understand it better all of them, you will easily achieve the similar layout. Before beginning to customize your website, I suggest you reading our reliable documentation and you will have to spend quite a bit of time learning that first to do so. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
I have checked your website which you gave me above and I saw that it is used an image in full width as the front page and then have included a few blocks with infinite load pagination. So, using the Newspaper and Visual Composer you can bring the image in full width with the ROW in stretch mode, like so -> http://screencast.com/t/0J12CfUnuB -> http://screencast.com/t/nDsE07hz and then you can use what kind of block you want and choose from here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/. For more information about the Block Settings, you will find here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ For post pages, please notice that we have many post template created by default for our customers and you can notice them here ->
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-lenovo-details-new-computers-that-could-be-heading-our-way-in-2015/
Also, for more information about them, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
You can consult our Youtube channel because there you will find a lot of useful video tutorial which can help you to achieve as you wish -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC7iz-v-zIY
More important is this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ because there you will find how you can properly use our Visual Composer plugin, for better results.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding and good luck for your project!
Hi,
Then install the demo “Black Version” the Home screen says this error “Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_convert_encoding() in /home/demofcpanama/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_video_playlist_render.php on line 164”
Website: http://demo.fcpanama.com
Thank you for support.

When i am sharing an article on facebook, the title and date of the article appear on the description again.here i attached an example below. What i need is only the content of the article should appear as the description,no title, date and custom fields. Please help me.Thank you.

Hi,
Those blocks are custom made and our theme does not provide them. You can try out the different block layouts our theme provides here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
The second one is more complicated to make, but the first example you showed can be achieved by using block 15
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello
Please check our demo version and there you will find the default size for our logo -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ If you want to increase the logo sizes you will have to do some additional customizations through the code and this involve custom work.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi
Each demo have its own style and to combine theme in most cases you’ll need a bit of custom css. For example the color for block’s title can be set from Visual Composer for each black but to have the same padding you’ll need this custom css: http://screencast.com/t/JaOfk9HUY9Kx – http://screencast.com/t/kmQgh01r1m3
.block-title span, .td-medicine .block-title label {
padding: 7px 14px;
}
Thanks!
Hello sniperetn,
Upon further investigation, as you can see on your demo preview for Block 13, this is the default theme behaviour for this type of block/module. As I could see on your website, you are using the Block 13 without sidebar, using the full-width of the theme, right? So, this block uses the module 14 to display the feature image. In this case, the thumb is created as properly, with this sizes -> 696*385 px -> http://screencast.com/t/Q4aitWfJpL8o If you do not use the sidebar, the feature image was cropped to the thumb dimension and then with a bit of CSS it will be stretched to fit full width of the theme which is 1068px and that’s why your image is not clear because it loses quality. If you check our demo, you will see the same behaviour for this Block, like this -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-13/ -> http://screencast.com/t/QDr9R8kqkt and the same case appears on your website, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/r7hIXbIsbmjs
As a hint, as you can do in this regard, would be to change the thumb dimension from the module 14, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/7vYhy9B5qpf9 -> http://screencast.com/t/XciGoQrE and then you will have to regenerate your Thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnails or Fore Regenerate. Please notice that additional customization may be required and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The video demo has a cutom css set to the row in visual composer. You can use the row’s design options for this from the row settings: http://screencast.com/t/HJfg5kqVEPEA You can also add a cutom class to the row and target it with css to apply a top padding like on our demo.
You can change the block titles colors from the theme colors section: http://screencast.com/t/L15Qo19sNl
As for the SAY WHAT demo, the padding is removed with custom css.
Please note that every demo has it’s own custom style to it and most of the times these are added with custom code. They cannot be done with the theme settings by default. Every demo is custom made and unique in it’s own way.
Thank you!
Hi, I just installed newspaper theme and demo, and found error Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_convert_encoding() in /home/acehjurn/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_video_playlist_render.php on line 164
please help
Hi,
If you want to add your own custom block coding skills are required. You can use the theme api system: https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_blockadd/
As for the difference between the 2 themes:
Both themes share the same core so their functionality and performances are similar. The main differences are in design/appearances and the content area width which slightly differs from one theme to another. Newspaper’s grid width is 1068px while Newsmag’s width is 1021px and the newsmag’s theme grid has been designed to support the borders you notice between sections of a page:http://screencast.com/t/pNkgzN1Kn8Y5
Other differences are also appear regarding features, some of the blocks are present on one and missing on the other, for example you could check the Features menu items from each theme live demo and see blocks, modules, post templates… are present in each theme and the design differences – http://screencast.com/t/p87JJpieJd
Also you can check the documentation for each theme, other features that may not be presented on the live demo(for example header templates) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/wordpress-information/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-newsmag-documentation/
You can check on our live demo all the Big Grid blocks available – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
If you want to customize one of them or even create a new block you will need custom work and unfortunately the time doesn’t allow us to provide any type of custom services you will need to hire a professional developer.
Thank you!
P.S.: With further testing we saw that if you add an alignment to your images (any align) then the option works as expected like you can see here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wordpress-news-magazine-charts-the-most-fashionable-new-york-couples-in-2016/ The bug manifests itself only when the images are not aligned.
Hello sarah23,
This is talking about Mobile Theme. So, please notice that you have this layout for mobile mode because you are using the Mobile Theme and our demo do not use the mobile theme and there it is displayed the normal responsive view for mobile. If you want to have this default layout, you will have to simply disable the mobile theme plugin and the theme will be switched to the general responsive mobile version.
If you want to fins more details about mobile theme, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Hope this helps!
If you refer to something else, please provide more details.
Thanks.
Hi
Please make sure that you’re using V 3.0 of Newsmag theme as Scandal demo it’s available only with that version.
Thanks!
Hello kaidensharma,
Please keep in mind that every demo has been custom designed and each element has an own design. So, if you want to change the color for the ‘Say What’ logo, please notice that this is just a photo and you cannot change it from the panel, but only if you will edit this logo and change from there the color with yours desired.
In order to achieve some changes, please ensure that you have changed the correct values from your elements. I have done some tests on my side and everything seems to work as properly, as you can see here ->
http://screencast.com/t/R1Kc0exUuxwE -> http://screencast.com/t/v6bMqyM1
If you refer to something else, please provide more details about what type of settings are not applied so I can inspect it closer and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. You can provide some useful screenshots for a better understanding.
Thanks for your message!
I was also thinking today as I researched this that it would be great if TagDiv could put together a range of short videos to explain how certain aspects of the demos were put together.
i.e. What was the process to get a select feature to look the way it does, such as the red solid backgrounds on the Block Titles in the Medicine demo.
I’ve recently had a similar question.
I want to start with one demo theme, and then apply aspects of other demo themes to it. I’m starting to get the feeling that this is not possible.
Hi all,
I have purchased the Newspaper theme and have installed it on WordPress. I have a current custom theme active and whenever I go to edit the Newspaper theme all it has is a header and some post topics from my previous theme.
I am extremely new to buying and installing themes. Do I have to remove all my previous theme contents to make it work? Any help/pointing towards tutorials would be fantastic.
Thanks!
I want to used the SCANDAL MAGAZINE http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag_scandal/# but i cannot found in the Templates
Thanks Alln for the reply. Yes, I’m having issue importing Newspaper default demo. I tried the system status parameter changes, but it did not help in resolving the issue. As per the reply I have emailed to tagDiv team with wp-admin access and theme license.
Thanks!
