Hi,
I’ve just installed the newspaper theme today. I’ve installed, activated, activated the plugins (inc. visual composer).
I’m starting to play around with it on the back end, and have installed the demo (with content) to help me out.
For some reason, all the images that are featured in posts are not appearing at all. All the images used in the demo are also not appearing on the website. They only appear when i open the ‘media’ tab.
Do you know why this may be? I even uploaded new images to see if it would appear on the website and it still doesn’t.
Also, when i start a new post, I can’t even type anything in the main post area to paste the main content of an article. Please see below screenshots.
When i first installed the theme. It did come up with some error:
The Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades plugin was unable to handle requests for this upgrade. Unfortunately, this setup may be incompatible with the plugin.
I’ve uninstalled the theme twice and reinstalled and still coming up with the same errors.
All i want is to migrate all my content I currently have on to the new newspaper theme.

So after following your
advice, it still didnt work, please note i was setting up my website localy. i did however find the cause of the error, i had activated the child theme and thus when i tried installing the demo content it did not work until i switched back to the main theme.
im now good to go.
and how to use tagGallery and videolist in the post just like your demo? is there a document I can read?
another random question, I can see there is an author avatar on the demo page. do you use a plugin to do this or you have your own avatar module in the theme?

I can see that there is a lightbox in your demo and it can navigate to different images appeared in the post, but my one can only display the 1st featured image.
is there a special setting for this?

@skupapa Your error is different than the one above. They both start with ‘ajax error’ but they refer to different objects. The server could have been down at the moment, so please try it again and if you still get the same error, please contact your hosting provider and check if there is no firewall in place to block access to our demo content.

I installed the demo then I tried changing the background image, and it will not show up. I even tried changing the background color to see if it changes, and it just remains white. How can I fix this issue?

Currently on the newspaper theme I only see the back end editor.
We should be able to switch between front end and back end editor.

I have recreated the menu and it didn’t change a thing. During page loading, the menu is briefly displayed a few tenth of second, then its space becomes blank.
Besides, I currently don’t use a cache and I don’t have a plugin modifying the menu, if this is what you meant.
In the system status, max_execution_time is at 30, and I’m using a demo. I’ve red the guide, and there is no track of the mentioned lines in .httaccess. So I guess it’s in php.ini, but my host doesn’t give access to it. However, this value matter is a bit weird, because my host say it is at 300, not 30 as displayed on the theme system status. If you need more information about my host parameters, please have a look at:

I have tried to active the theme several times by deactivating all plugins, emptying cache but still when I download the ‘demo theme’ it comes up with just the header and blank pages and a link to purchase the theme. Please can you advise me on how to fix this issue.

I am referring to the colored “block” titles (section headings) on the Homepage. As shown on your demo homepage, http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609, DON”T MISS is orange, LIFESTYLE NEWS is green, etc.
Changing the Title Background Color option in the Homepage Block Settings does not work.

All post styles use thumbnails so a large image will only fit as the theme intends it to. It will not stretch to the full width or height of the image itself. Unfortunately this error could come from a big number of problems. It is a general error and we cannot pin point it to a specific thing. I believe it happens due to your server configuration which is not responding, it could be due to a delay or it could also be a temporary issue so you can try this a few times and if you still get this error please contact your host provider and let him know about this, ask them to unblock our demo in order to retrieve the theme data. It could also happen due to your wp install or other plugins might also cause this so you could also test this on a fresh wp install and let us know if you still get the same result. Also make sure that your permission for the upload folder are set correct. You can check this by trying to upload an image in media library. If the process succeeds then the permission are ok. If not you can use the c-panel to change permissions (set them to 777) or if you do not have access to the cpanel, please contact your hosting provider.

This is the simplest solution of recreating the travel demo homepage on another demo. This cannot be done without the custom classes used by this demo.
Please follow these simple steps to recreate the travel demo homepage with another demo installed:
1) This is the shortcode of the page layout. You can simply paste it inside your page editor in classic mode and text mode: http://screencast.com/t/SUt9ItUc the code: http://pastebin.com/RAA6DkWp

We are having issues with our visual composers.
I did delete and reinstalled it according to direction for updating the plugging.
Here is what is happening:
We need to create custom pages.
When I go to a page and click on the back end editor and add elemens. No elements are shown

Additionally I believe that Visual composer has a front end editor but I’m never able to see it on our website.

At first I thought maybe I have to purchase a separate license but upon reading more I learned that it’s the same.

There is a line of options to the right of the label “Don’t Miss’ and “lifestyle News’ I have managed to lose these when I tailored my data. I assumed they were a filter of sorts on the child classifications and that this was determined by the Ajax field.
Unless this has clarified it for you and you have a quick answer, I will do as you advised and have a chat to a developer. I am sure what I am wanting to d is within the basic setup and that I have done something wrong in my setup.

The featured image can be as big as you want. The bigger it is, the better quality the thumbnail will be. The featured image has a thumbnail of it’s own so a big picture will not be displayed in it’s full size but ion a thumbnail.
For example on our demo you can see this picture with the 2 girls on the homepage. The image size is pretty big: http://screencast.com/t/qFVF39uU and the theme creates thumbnails for it in every particular case post featured image, module featured image, etc.

I created a demo site for travel, i copied some post from the web for representation purpose. But when you visit the post from another computer, the images would not be fetched. Here’s how the post will look like: http://d.pr/i/OfRn
If you click on Edit Post – this is how it looks: http://d.pr/i/1l7H7
But when you copy paste the article in the post, this is how the post looks like: http://d.pr/i/76Qb
After you publish it and open it from another computer, the images are not fetched again.
I cannot download and upload every image and create post like that. Because this is not a final site and is being used for representation purpose only. I’ve done this before many times on other theme, they work well.
What seems to be the issue?
