Hi,
I am sure this is something simple but for the life of me I can’t figure it out. I am using a demo layout and starting to import some draft content etc. When you look at the following category or post pages they have a background image displayed where the home page has none but I can’t see where this is set, can anyone tell me how to change this?

Hi, as good as it is, pagespeed topics are always good to read.
Me, I respect do work going on here, but I do have something to add about pagespeed in general.
Chris and Ing Geek have some nice stuff here, I managed to get my demo newspaper content to 86/80 on GT Metrix, 61/80 on google insights, etc… and all that without Wp Super cache, or Wp rocket.
Included with those two caching plugins I managed to get above 94/90 on GTMETRIX, and 82/82 with google.
Somehow I managed to stumble on great plugin called WP Super Simple Speed.
This plugin alone, got me above 90s in GTM, and 72/86 (if i remember corectly) on Google insights.
When i included WP rocket… my website flew. I think it was something like 98/94 on gtmetrix, and above 90s in google.
But my images were not loading corectly bc of wp rockets js minify and stuff with css.
In general Expirience was awesome.
I tried to combine stuff, but i am not nearly done with testings (doing alot of combinations for 2 days) so I could use some help with this.
Thoughts?
I didn’t see a suggestion box thread so I thought I’d add one. Here it goes…
1. Add H1 header tag to home page.
Yes, we can add a text block that contains H1. However, many users will not know how to do this. Thus, many users will never have H1 on their homepage which negatively impacts SEO. Another theme I use detects if the current page is the home page, and if so, it applies H1 to the logo and hidden text containing the site title and tagline.
2. Add an option to the blocks that allows users to select a header tag for the block title.
This will allow users to get H2 tags on the home page and archive pages. For the predefined templates, H2 should be selected on the home page and archive page blocks.
3. Include Alt tags in the images contained in blocks.
Every piece of media I have has an alt tag define for it. I would like these alt tags used. In cases where the alt tag is not defined, perhaps there can be an option to use the article title or the media filename as the alt tag.
4. Make it so that interacting with smart lists generates a distinct view in google analytics. I donât know if this is hard or possible but it would provide users with a great benefit in terms of page views and add impressions.
5. Make it an option that when a site visitor clicks ânextâ on the last smart list item, they are sent to a new URL we specify. This is a sneaky way to get views on additional articles.
6. Ability to select background images and a URL and target for these images for a category, page, or post.
7. Allow admins to use HTML in their author page bio.
8. Ability to easily embed Facebook comments in addition to regular comments. Perhaps FB comments and regular comments can be placed in adjacent columns, full width without a sidebar next to them? That would be AWESOME. Throw in Google plus comments while you are at it. Iâd pay extra for all of this. đ
I’ve tried a dozen themes. I’ve thoroughly reviewed all of the top selling theme demos on Theme Forest. Newspaper is in the top 3 themes I’ve ever used. I hope the SEO issues (1-3 above) can be resolved soon. Of note, a lot of the top selling Theme Forest themes have the same header tag issues.

How can I restore the fonts of the default demo? I did something silly in the theme panel and now I can’t figure out the exact fonts that your default demo uses. I don’t seem to have an option to restore them, either. I can’t provide you with a link, because I am using a local installation. I have v.6.

Did you installed the demo successfully, without any errors? Please make sure that you have updated/installed also the plugins that come with the theme files especially Visual Composer install it from – http://screencast.com/t/M0ZXtbAd9LSc and make sure that you use the latest version – http://screencast.com/t/hJOIbj3hd5
Please check this also without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue also provide a link so we can take a look.

@MissMyra Not really sure what you want to do, there is an option to install the demo without the content – http://screencast.com/t/Llv4BYBbY5d so like you can see in the screenshot it will import only settings like fonts color(no articles, pages, menus…) – depends what demo you install. Also if you want to uninstall you can do this from the same section – http://screencast.com/t/uiQJdyH8NG so it will remove all the content added(if you have installed demo with content) and your theme settings will be on default, you will have to customize your self.

3. You can customize the ajax pagination using custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css, if you don’t have basic experience I suggest to get someone to help you for these customizations as we cannot provide custom work at this time, but we can do some suggestions.

installed default demo with content for newspaper theme
but site doesn’t load. it loads up to menu part only. sub menus are also not loaded. after that the page is blank.

Hello I have Newspaper 6 wordpress theme. My website: http://www.kickscoop.com/ AFter clicking the twitter share button in blog post the share screen is not popping up rather its opening its same tab. Whereas in demo theme: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/120-er-visits-linked-synthetic-wordpress-nyc-past-week/ afteer clicking twitter share button its popping up. How can I fix that in my theme?

seems like you want to
a) uninstall demo content
b) install demo “styles” and *NOT* the content.
c) then customize for your desired layout.

Another theme I use detects when the current page is the home page and uses H1 on the logo image and on hidden/covered text containing the site title and tagline. When the current page is not the home page, it replaces H1 with H2.
I see this code in header.php:

Any chance that this can be added to a future theme update? Yes, manually adding a text block is a simple solution but the majority of people buying your theme doesn’t know that they need to do this.
Regarding H2, perhaps the header tag can be a selectable attribute on the VC blocks. Perhaps on your demo stacks, you can by default select the H2 header for blocks on the home page and archive pages. This way, users can get H1 and H2 on the home page and archive pages out of the box. Any thoughts?

I am not sure what you mean but the demo from here http://screencast.com/t/GhZPOL0QY are made with the same theme as a guide to help the user to create his own pages and posts. If you already have your own content, it’s not necessary to install a demo, because the demo pages will be published automatically, and the theme works fine without any demo installed. You can uninstall the demo to remove the imported pages from your site.

Just bought Newspaper6 and its cool. We are sport news agency and we have up to 800 posts on our previous magazine site. How can we create a unique layout for sport news publishing or tweak the demo one to have a;
1. How can i choose a layout I want?
2. Post slider(first choice) or Tile Posts
3. Tweak the style layout of the ajax loading feature post
4. Create a big feature post with smaller thumbnail below
5. Create a fullwidth post scroll-er that cut across the site
6. How can I start editing the sidebar widget

Please provide more details about your issue, what do you mean it doesn’t have the same look?
Installing the demo with content will import some pages, articles, menus, fonts… Also you can install it without the content so it will import only fonts, colors… no predefined content.

Ps; We are aware of the function âinclude contentâ. But when we do this, the theme looks really sober and not at all as in the demo.
Hi I have bought this theme along with the Sahifa theme.
I have to say for the magazine side of things this is way better and more powerful for layouts (very confusing) but i see wht it has to be to get the power!
However being a national magazine we also do “shop the look” and a variety of deals to sell products we feature in the magazine.
The problem is that the woocommerce integration is no where near complete, there is no shopping cart icon in the menu which is a woocommerce class that should be hard programmed into the them as with every other woocommerce them out there. so i am using the woocommerce show cart plugin which is not ideal to be adding lots of plugins.
The documentation for woocommerce integration is none existent and the sidebar selection doesn’t work properly.
I need to be able to create a beautiful store from with featured products and special offers with a nice big header that pulls out the latest reviews.
Also you demo theme has a different footer in the woocommerce page than in the rest of the site this is also something required as it won’t do it on my theme so not sure how you guys did it? maybe its a different domain?
Also when reviewing a product we would need a buy it now button in the final thoughts comment box next to the rating so people could click and go to the store product to purchase?
Anyway it all seems very very close to me and with a little extra working could definatley be the best theme out there for shopping as well as magazines.
I installed sahifa first and have this running at the moment but can’t make the switch as intended. Coule you let me know if there are plans to expand on the woocommerce side of the theme or not please so i can make relevant plans for a switch over.
I would be using 2 licenses for 2 sites but also have my wifes 2 sites that i would probably buy 2 more licenses for and switch those over too.
You guys really are onto something here as we all know that content is king and if we can run our ecommerce sites at the back of the reviews and blogging section it makes for a better website but we have to be able to create a beautiful shopping home page!

I’ve bought Newspaper 4 a while ago and now we installed Newspaper 6. After installing Newspaper 6 we installed the fashion demo theme, the problem now is that on my own website all kind of content of the Fashion demo theme is placed, combined with my own content. Obviously I only need my own content. How can I install the Fashion Demo Theme, without the demo content. Thank you very much for your quick reply!
