Yea thank you, you are really faster than them i dont know why they dont give you some money for your work… it is problem how to explain… I have portal for my city and i want to make some section for my neighborhood so in that portal will automaticlly go posts from parent site… i will buy a new domain after some time… new one will be like neighborhood.city.com 🙂

You can delete the js-composer folder in your wp-content/plugins/ folder via filezilla using the delete command ….
however, I run into this issue where it may “time out” and not finish…
this is a normal server issue with trying to delete too many files via ftp …

If you have a “filemanager” module in your web hosting account panel, it’s MUCH faster to navigate into your public docs folder (e.g., httpdocs or whatever), then go to that folder and check box, and click delete. Server can do it in one click.

FTP, you might have to open the stupid js-composer folder, select all, then click delete and might have to do that twice until folder empty.

Just went through that on 7 websites. The filemanager method MUCH quicker.

This is a recent development this year with insights; kind of annoying; and why you get higher score with GTmetrix than insights score. With “responsive” design, images are often resized vs serving an entirely new image as traditionally it was actually faster since the server caches images, especially high request images. However, now the insights score is based on a “mobile user loading the content” as part of the “mobile first” movement, and so it seems there is going to need to be some kind of element added to all themes which load images much like the ad banners used to load the past few years prior to Google adding responsive ad units …

basically…
if viewport large = load big image
if viewport small = load thumbnail

Dumb thing is that in many cases, the larger image being loaded on mobile, e.g., iPad actually works better as a “resized” image, since it effectively makes a 640×400 96dpi image into a 340×200 200dpi image for retina displays by having larger pixel density when the large size is reduced on screen — hence why the images look so good on retina mobile devices without having to reload a “retina image…”

So….. stupidly, they are looking at “bandwidth” not “quality”…

Themes are basically going to have to be re-engineered to “by default” always make something like a 50% thumbnail and serve that on mobile devices.

Even stupider requirement because not all mobile devices have same viewport, and so it’s not practical for every page to constantly load 10 different size “featured images” based on viewport — this is what responsive design partially solved.

Upshot — you can live with suffering the warning for now — everybody is getting this — everywhere.

Not sure how TagDiv will address this, or if some super clever person comes up with plugin.

In our case we’re running mod_pagespeed and just updated last Friday (week ago), in hopes it would have solution for this as part of the “resize images” function (well, subset of “rewrite images”), and that isn’t even doing that with Google’s own technology!

Sorry for editorial. I started trying to deal with this April 1, and was super annoyed by the “actuality” of the issue.

Basically a featured image now has to be treated as an “ad module” and load a different size main image based on desktop v mobile. Show me any themes doing that right now. Nope. Annoying.

Hope that helped in some way …. main thing is to ensure the main images you’re uploading are as compressed as possible. I’ve been trying to make sure our larger images are no more than 25kb vs 32kb. If you have an image with 120kb that can be removed, it might be too big to start with.

No simple answer.

@suport002 Take your time. We definitely need the corrections to 1.7 but we need you guys to test them rigorously, and that takes time. Better > Faster

After the update my pagespeed did even get faster. I am using w3 total cache and cloudflare. I disabled the lazy load functionality because I could not see the images on my Windows 8 phone. My server configuration is Linux, CENTOS 6.6 x86_64, Apache 2.2.29, PHP 5.4.36, MYSQL 5.5.42-cll, Perl 5.10.1
Maybe this helps the developers to eliminate some issues. Kind regards.

(trick is to delete via filemanager on server; then upload via FTP)

So, 10 minutes … and I just switched back on Disqus, photo new items right side, third ad, and the pages are 10x faster at least … maybe 20x faster…

so… shazam… there you are. In our case 1.7 does NOT work well with all the snazzo-riffic hardware, bandwidth, mod_pagespeed and other stuff we have on tap. 1.6 literally rocks.

I do believe you are correct in that some other things related to php queries and whatnot are baked in someplace, as that is HUGE difference.

from theme panel, click home page button – 2 seconds in IE 11 Win7/64. Previously 20 seconds … soooooo….

See the other post related to how to disable lazy loading of images. This is a great feature for mobile, but can have some unpredictable results with “some” setups. All major news portals are implementing this, as it makes the mobile experience faster, and long pages load more quickly, but I have also seen this kind of thing happen when I tested this myself with the Newspaper theme a year ago and chose NOT to use “lazy loading” … as sometimes it ended up being “no loading at all.”

It’s a great new theme feature, and SHOULD be there, but no way to one click turn it off.

You will need to edit a couple of files to turn that off for now, it seems.

I tested the new version on my test environment and all went very smooth. Love the new lazy images feature and the searching form is a lot faster I think. Thumbs up from my site!

Is there any thing else we can do to make my website faster?
Especially on mobile.

You don’t need to add the wp-config.php code … it can help along with removing all the comments. if you don’t know what you’re doing, best to leave that unless you’ve done everything else.

Basically the code does two things

1) removing comments makes the file load faster by cutting in half
2) adding the “actual” URL to bottom of your wo-config.php file means you’re saving a “lookup” for that all the time. Don’t do the “expert” items unless you know what they are for. 🙂
