Hello, i’m having a bug on Safari 10 on iPad (and some mac devices). As far as I see, meta info boxes appear to have a forced low height, with child content overflowing and covering what’s below.
You can see it here: http://www.excellencemagazine.luxury
Inspecting the element, it looks like the display:flex property is causing the problem.
Am I the first one noticing this, or otherwise, in which way has it been solved so far?

Hi …
I of course do understand, that running processes need to be done. But the thing with custom work – is a long requested discussion on this board. So I also understand, that it’s simply not a wanted part of TagDiv. As other companies are always able to do custom work – just because it’s good money for them – the can be sure, that no nonsense will be done with their themes, and they are having a good payed testdrive for future implementations, which they even got payed for … It’s a kind of a internal political question.
So I will need to hire a freelancer to do this for us. But it’s not what I wanted. For example the Soledad-Team had rebuilt a festure, which I missed from your theme. They have got about 350 dollars from us for this. The next theme update included this feature. Just because it was there – and it was good …
They simply were not able to build homepage blocks from tags – they only used posts. That was a long awaitd feature for the community.
However: I sure do understand, that there is a current timezone in which it is not possible to do sch things. But I do not understand, why this is the case for years now. The newspaper theme is one of the most complex theme on the themeforest market. So I am not willing to believe, that a company, who built such a complex theme, would not be able to fulfill a request within a few weeks, where a freelancer can do this job within a few days …
We have chosen this theme (again) as it’s maybe the most professional designed piece of code on the market. As we are not a blog, but a good running (growing) online magazine, it’s most important for us to stay flexible and open minded – but all this within a stable theme-solution.
Best and warmest regards
Torsten
Hi,
That is a big grid in your first screenshot. The title of the posts will appear inside the module. There are no grids that can display the titles bellow the module. Only blocks are designed like that.
You could darken the gradient color that is set to the bottom of the module
Default – https://www.screencast.com/t/ZYWq4o01
With a darker gradient – https://www.screencast.com/t/FKKTqJRW
I could give you a code for that if you should consider it, it will increase the height of the gradient and make it darker, so the titles will be more visible.
With a flex grid for example, you could set a background color over the meta info, directly in the composer
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ADMSjWjkeOO
Thanks
Hello, you could put the photos of the block flex 1, only the small photos. Could you put the text out of the photo? As I show in the other screenshot. That is, the text appears below the photograph because if it appears inside the letters are not visible.

Hi,
You could use Big grid flex 2 which is equivalent to Big grid 1. Flex grids have an option to position the category tag inline
– https://www.screencast.com/t/TavUgT6nvwV
Basically it will appear below the title, like you want.
If you want to modify Big grid 1 you could switch the category tag and title code, in the modules used by the grid
Big module – https://www.screencast.com/t/0wH88VsZXK
Small module – https://www.screencast.com/t/rgGxeSSkGO
Thanks
Hello maxmilesrl,
Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option for this, sorry! If you want to move the meta info container at the top of your grid, you need to do it via such a custom CSS code. Notice that task involves doing such a custom work and we cannot provide this kind of services at the moment, sorry! Also, you can try using the Big Grid Flex and use the Layout Style of this element regarding on Meta Info settings from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/gAAvnnHo
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
First you need to open the flex block 2 with td Composer, go to style ( https://www.screencast.com/t/Xteq6rJ5s2l8 ) and look for “Article title text hover” and the other text you have on the flex block 2 ( https://www.screencast.com/t/YVqfRMBOA ), set it on white ( or any color you like ) .
Aftel you do all that please add the blow custom css in Newspaper>Them panel>Custom code>Custom css
.td_module_flex_2 .td-module-meta-info *:hover{
color: red!important;
}
Hope this will help you.
Thank you.
Hi,
The Newsmag theme is not very flexible when it comes to full width results, rows used to build pages cannot be stretched for example.
Only the Newspaper theme allows wider layouts, has full width grids, has multi-purpose features etc. Some of the differences are mentioned here
– https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-vs-newsmag-how-to-choose-the-perfect-wordpress-theme-for-your-project/
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks
What CSS can I add to prevent the Title from turning red when hovering over the main Flex Block 2 image? I only want the Title to change color when hovering over the title text itself, or the meta info area, including the title. (Although it’s fine, even preferred, to have the cursor continue to change to the finger when hovering over the image.)

Thanks!
Hi,
1. It’s working in all device, but is possible to scale din differ way in function of devices and background image you have set ( https://www.screencast.com/t/forxoRvFX ).
2. For the moment flex block don’t have such option, but if you want you can use a big grid 1/2/3/6/7/8 https://www.screencast.com/t/k4d0uWfM
3. Our logo is an Animated PNG you can use this website for make your own one https://ezgif.com/apng-maker
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,
That will be the case. The default blocks should only be used in these row layouts
– https://www.screencast.com/t/uLMq1Jgq
That will guarantee that they will display properly. The other layouts should be used with multi-purpose elements and flex blocks.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately in order to do that you’ll may need a developer.
Please be notice that the Flex block have the possibility to set divergent layout for each device ( example-> https://www.screencast.com/t/rsDDda7Wm ).
Also you can use a slide and if you want you can hide for some device ( https://www.screencast.com/t/656Zrf8k0 )
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi. I have noticed that most blocks and some elements (including recent comments) become distorted when I switch the post template width from 2/3-1/3 to 3/4-1/4. The 1/4 is acting as the sidebar and any element put there is the one distorted. Are you aware of this? Only the flex blocks seem to work well.
1. i want insert image fix paralax image at row tagdiv composer, but working by desktop only http://prntscr.com/l8ie7x not working in mobile version http://prntscr.com/l8iedy. pls help

Hi, I would like to add horizontal scroll for Flex block1(or something) on mobile device, just like Big Grid1.
I think I need to add some CSS for it. Could you give some advice?
Also, I would like to do the same thing for ROW element.
If you have 3 images horizontally in a ROW, You can see 3 images vertically on mobile.
But I would like to see horizontally with a scroll.
Thank you.
Hi Catalin. Thanks for your reply. I does not help much to keep the demo, as many of the modules shown are flex block 1, and they can only be recreated manually. Therefore, I hoped that by saving shourtcodes with my own names they would stay,
Hi,
1. AMP is mainly for posts, you can enable it for pages which do not contain page builder content. The page should be built with the default WordPress editor
– https://www.screencast.com/t/So3EgMatk
2. Changing the color of the post titles and excerpts in modules can be done if you use flex blocks and the tagDiv composer
– https://www.screencast.com/t/NNTkBXEUys
For default blocks there is no setting, but you could use some CSS. For example with a custom class. Set a custom class for the block
– https://www.screencast.com/t/wxl78YIwzPD
Then create some CSS to color the article titles
– https://www.screencast.com/t/nkCr9oCZ6ch
Code used in example here
.myblock .entry-title a{
color:yellow;
}
Thanks
Hi,
Predefined blocks and grids (all except flex blocks and grids) will use predefined thumbnail sizes, cropped by center top. The results will be different according to module used and also affected by the image aspect ratio
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
Only with the flex blocks and grids you could control the images by some parameters. You could experiment with the flex blocks and grids which have options to manipulate the image
– https://www.screencast.com/t/JqcubPWxoZ
– https://www.screencast.com/t/MF6tn1kSSunH
There are quite a few block and grid designs created by our team which you can use, we will add grids as well. These are based on the flex blocks and grids
– https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Thanks
Hi,
1. First make sure the general meta you want to display is enabled in the general block settings
– https://www.screencast.com/t/yHHNBnc1DfS
Then in the flex block setting you can enable/disable the meta
– https://www.screencast.com/t/whPPwhWI
If all of these settings are enabled and the meta is not displaying, please provide a link to the website where this is happening so I can take a look.
2. That sounds like a caching issue. Try to clear the cache of your plugin or server provided cache after you make a setting. That should refresh the website. The theme by itself has no caching.
Thanks
I have last version but my block is called Big Grid Flex 2 and rthere is no such options.
Anyway the task is solved. THANK YOU!
1) Article meta info not showing in flex block. Just only showing the category.
2) When i make change something and then refresh the site it stay same for a long time as previous setting.
That is a modified flex block 1.
Hi,
Please check the layout from flex block 2 ( https://www.screencast.com/t/ssmQqZgrjsw ), in section Article meta info hide the categories.
Thank you.
Hi,
1. That’s unusual, so this happened after the update and by it’s own? Looks like there still is a gradient set for the modules. That gradient is set in the flex block->style settings-> module color overlay
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Qqve5oIE
If no value is added manually there should be no gradient.
2. I see the problem you mention, I will add it on the list and it will be investigated and a solution will be found. A solution which will work is to make a small modification in the cloud library plugin
– https://www.screencast.com/t/pYTJrvtuLyz
Remove the condition as shown around the code, then if the value is at 50% (default) the images will be truly centered. Let me know if this works, in my tests it seems to work.
Sorry for this inconvenience, it will be fixed.
Thanks
Hi guys, hope you’re all well.
We’ve noticed some display issues after upgrading to v9.1 this morning:
1. some of our Flex Box 1 blocks decided to throw a module overlay in that wasn’t there before. Only in a few cases, but it was the same image placement on three different sites (same design):
https://www.screencast.com/t/AgR40gJumJW
Example URL: http://compareallvans.co.uk/
It was an easy fix to take it out, but I assume it’s not supposed to be there in the first place. We use that flex block a lot and the vast majority were unaffected, so not sure why it affected that lead image only.
2. On our featured background images, the cropping seems to have gone wrong somewhere. In 9.1 we can now crop vertical alignment by steps of 1%, which is fantastic, but cropping to 50% seems to cause a problem. If we crop to 49% or 51% it looks absolutely fine, with the image almost perfectly centred as you’d expect. But if you select 50%, it seems to suddenly crop to the top (ie – 0%). Some examples from three different sites, where the vehicle in the image is now falling out of the bottom of the frame:
http://compareallvans.co.uk/suzuki-jimny-test-drive/
https://thetruckexpert.co.uk/road-to-zero-could-mean-a-dead-end-for-truck-operators/
https://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/aston-martin-dbs-superleggera-fastest-ever/
Obviously this only happens where the image size is larger than the space provided, but it affects a large number of our images as everything is vertically aligned to what used to be centre (now 50%).
I hope there is a relatively easy fix for this, because I don’t want to go back into every page (and post template) and align everything to 51% to get around it…
Other than that, still loving v9. We’ve made a few new tweaks based on the new features and demos added to 9.1, and are planning even more based on the incredible flexibility you guys have built into the theme.
Cheers,
stuart
