That method is not that reliable based on user feedback. Update by the other methods, by WordPress or the most recommended by FTP. In the guide the steps for each method is mentioned.

Be sure to check the Before you update practices, making a backup is a good thing to do before making any major changes to the website.

Hi,

Why not simply install the plugin by FTP, that would take about a couple of minutes. The theme plugins are provided in the theme package plugins folder
https://www.screencast.com/t/C0rn9NLmbHo
Unzip the composer and upload it in the WordPress wp-content->plugins folder. That would be all there is to it.

There are many cases of this issue happening, a simple search on Google and this can be seen, also various fixes can be found

Hello admweb,

First of all, ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, check your WordPress version to be the latest one. More important is also to check your System status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

You could use any simple text editor, simply connect by FTP and access the theme files
https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_FileZilla
https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-use-ftp-to-upload-files-to-wordpress-for-beginners/
FTP is also the most reliable and used theme update method.

Or you could make the modification with the WordPress theme editor

Hello,

When installing and activating the tagDiv Cloud Library plugin, I instantly see a problem Error 500 on the WP Dashboard. The website stays active on the frontend, but when I try accessing the WP Dashboard (wp-admin) I get the error and can’t access it.

The problem is the plugin definitely because when I rename its folder via FTP the site dashboard works fine again.

I tried your solution for memory limit in wp-config to set to 256M, but that didn’t solve the problem.

Can you please help?

Thanks!

Hi,

You simply have to install it, there are no special requirements. Some guides here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Use the same key to activate it after you install it. Be sure to check the theme requirements

Thanks

Hi,

When updating the theme please check the guide, the most reliable and recommended method would be by FTP
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/

Remember to update the theme plugins you use, after a theme update
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-a-plugin/

If that message is displayed for the newsletter plugin, delete it. Re-install it from the theme plugins panel or manually

Hi,

Plugins are installed in the WordPress plugins folder, that is where you have to upload the plugin
https://www.screencast.com/t/kLSCh7skg2l
Some more info about installing plugins by FTP here
https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/step-by-step-guide-to-install-a-wordpress-plugin-for-beginners/

That folder you mention inside the theme files, contains plugins which can be installed from the theme

I’ve downloaded, extracted and placed the td-composer folder and contents (the divtag plugin) into the wp-content/themes/newsmag/includes/plugins directory via FTP.

However, I don’t see the plugin added in WordPress.

Is there something else I need to do?

I’m pretty new to this. Thanks for your help 🙂

Well, the error implies your SSL cert is bad, have you checked that first?

You can also install via ftp, as best way.

Hello,

Please note we have not tested this type of ads so we cannot ensure their proper functionality.
The amp plugin does not have a custom code section so any code needed for the amp ads, will have to be added via ftp in the amp plugin files. https://www.screencast.com/t/qV5bNugvV

Thanks.

Solved.
1. I uploaded the custom fonts via media upload, this caused the error. Now, I added a custom folder, uploaded the font file via ftp and linked to the path.

2. Caused by Revolution Slider. Will check with them.

Hello stevemanes,

The Facebook sharing should works as expected if the theme has been correctly installed via FTP way. For social sharing and general SEO, we recommend the Yoast SEO plugin. Install and activate the Open Graph data
https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/

Thanks for the message!

1. You have a standard file .htaccess?

2. Do you use any security plugins? Try to temporarily rename via FTP folder with its contents and login again.

Hi,

First you should check the theme requirements guide here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If needed ask your hosting provider to increase the allocated resources as mentioned there. A WP memory value of 256M would be enough for most users.

If there is still a problem, check plugins. Deactivate them all except theme plugins and check if the issue is solved. Deactivate them by FTP if you cannot log in
https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/

Let us know what you find.

Thanks

Hi,

First you could check the theme requirements guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Then if there is still a problem, check plugins. Deactivate them all except theme plugins. Ultimately reinstall the theme and check again

Thanks
