Hello Tezo,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some JS errors through your console, as you can see here -> Errors which come from your additional customizations, sorry! I saw that your source code is minified which can cause a lot of unknown issues, sorry! Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just only the bundled plugins and check the results. If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way on the new sub-domain and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello barronlau,

Yes, you should reinstall the theme via FTP way. After each theme update, you should make a full backup to your database to be safe and to avoid losing your data. You should follow up the FTP way because this is the surest theme’s method for theme’s update, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Ok, I’m not quite sure how to do a clean install. You mean delete the theme folder and reupload manually using FTP?

Hi,

The tagDiv composer is automatically installed when the theme is updated or installed
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
If by some reason it did not install for you, there are multiple ways of installing a plugin in WordPress
http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/step-by-step-guide-to-install-a-wordpress-plugin-for-beginners/
There is no exact cause for that issue from what I can find, try manually uploading the plugin by FTP in your uploads folder (unzip it first). Let us know if you still have problems.

Thanks

Hello barronlau,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you have different layouts in this regard. This behavior could happen due to using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and which can cause such unknown issues. Also, I saw that it applies a CSS which I cannot identify from where come from, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/dENNpUIdCM which breaks the layout. I recommend you to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and try using only the WPML with Woocommerce without any untested plugins and some CSS minification to exclude any conflicts. Clear all the caches and check the results.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Please see these guides presenting the theme installation
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
The FTP method is usually the most recommended. Follow the steps carefully as described, and everything should work properly.
Also check with your hosting and check these server and WordPress parameters
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Insufficient PHP memory can be the cause for this issue.

Thanks

Yeah… I generally have always used the ‘migration tool’ from the new server to basically package up old domain, move to new system and expand out the files and folders — normally works. Except this last time, funnily enough (a year ago August). So, tried the DUPLICATOR plugin and went ‘wow’ … then used it again on a site where we changed the domain name from some hideous long thing to short sweet name, and it even did all the internal domain name changes — that was the “whoa!” moment. SO, now I throw out the “try DUPLICATOR” line to everybody, with WP sites.

FTP still works, though. 🙂

Theme doesn’t control storage of the images; that’s done by WordPress media manager.

Often using DUPLICATOR is best way to ‘move’ a website. Also good to FTP the image folder off your old system and ‘compare’ to image folder from new system. If you have 800 images in one and 700 images in another, then migration didn’t work.

Most common issue with this is file naming problems, like

myimage-123.jpg
myimage-123(2).jpg
MyImage-123.jpg

will likely cause a lot of problems in any kind of ‘move.’

Anyway — just feedback from sombebody who’s been moving stuff from server to server every 3 years since 1996 (!).

Upshot: don’t trust the WP export function.

Upshot: if moving from one Plesk box to another, the migration tool will copy everything over properly. If moving from one host to another, other best option is DUPLICATOR plugin.

Hello Volkerm

First of all, I will thank you for your interests in our theme! So, if you want to have the latest theme version, you should only download the latest version of it from Theme Forest and install it via FTP way and there is no need for anything else, it’s enough.
Regarding on your second request, the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to trigger the mobile style for tablet devices, sorry! You should edit the mobile plugin and make some additional adjustments until bringing this which involve such a custom work and we cannot provide this kind of services, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello naimbic,

First of all, make sure that you are using the latest theme version installed via FTP way and if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of these, leave just to active only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and check the results.

Hope this helps!

I too have checked https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ before I posted the message.

I will reinstall via ftp. But I don’t think this should be an issue as it is a brand new website with nothing on.

Hello hugocosta,

Please make sure that you are using the latest theme version, installed via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, it seems to be a Chrome browser error. You should check the following useful manual here -> https://www.deskdecode.com/err_connection_timed_out/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply.

I am using the latest theme version and I’ve installed it via FTP. I can confirm that my system parameters match those which were recommended and the only active plugins are the two that were installed via the theme (tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Social Counter).

I really need to get this working ASAP, as I have a deadline I need to hit.

Thanks

Hi,

If deactivating it normally causes a white screen, try removing it manually through FTP or Cpanel. Remove also other plugins that might require Buddypress. This is the official uninstall guide for it
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/deleting-buddypress/

Thanks

Hello! I just purchased a Theme Newspaper 8 and had to upload it with FTP because of the simple way it marked error. I was able to upload the Theme with FTP, but it was not installed completely, my WordPress page tells me that I need the index.php template file. And that the subthemes also need a template header in the style.css style sheet. I do not understand much about this. What do I do?

JEEZ THIS IS INSANE..!!!

I have to say that this is just lot of faffing around for something which should be a really simple process.

I am having the same kind of issue trying to get an answer with wanting to use embed iframe code for placing youtube video in featured video on Newspaper video templates, instead of the plain video link url, because I don’t want to display the video title and suggested videos at the end of the video.

For such a great theme, you would have though that not only would Tagdiv have included the option to place the raw video link url in the featured video section, but also the option to place ’embed code’ for youtube, fb,vimeo etc… or LOCAL video link.

Pardon my langauge, as I am about to use some bad ones….. 🙂

But how fucking hard can that be…seriously??!! It is very frustrating as I have been also trying to get an answer to this for 4 days now and I no closer to finding an answer than I was 4 fuking days ago….

C’MON TAGDIV… W H A T – T H E – F U C K!!!!!!

The fact that there does not appear to be a solid solution, just a load of fucking around with people suggesting plugins (that don’t work) or changing something through http://ftp.. or doing some other shit, for me… totally devalues the newspaper tagdiv theme, to a point I am seriously thinking of ditching it all together, asking for a refund and switching to another theme that supports using embed video code.

TAGDIV….Your providing and selling the theme with video functionality and include video templates within the theme, so why not include the functionality to embed video code..??!! IT’S A FUCKING NO BRAINER TO ME…

TAGDIV… you’re letting the team down…

With love…

Rhys Morton-Ross – A very disgruntled and fucked off customer.

Sure thing Chris.. i have tried this before using sFTPclient on the chrome web store and could not get it to work, techie stuff is just not my bag.

If there was any way to do it without having to result to using ftp, that would be great.

You can FTP from a Chromebook, if you Google it.
Just sayin.

Hi All…

I have been trying to find an effective yet simple way to use youtube and vimeo embed code on all my posts as the site is going to be predominantly aggregated video posts.

I have looked at some other threads about this but there does not appear to be a very easy solution. The problem I have is that I am using a chromebook so cannot use ftp access to be able to make changes as detailed in other comments from Tagdiv support members.

I really want to use embed code option instead of links so I can remove video title and suggested videos at the end.

So how can I do this..???

Also.. are there any plans for future updated with tagdiv to allow embed code instead of links when creating new video posts? Not having this feature weakens the theme slightly. Apart from this the Newspaper theme is A1… would be so much better being able to have the option to use video embed code.

Thanks – Rhys

@Bogdan B. I have tried resaving the permalinks without any luck. I have now sent you on the FTP access via that email address you provided.

Thanks in advance
