I tryed everything and it didn’t work. I noticed it only happens in the homepage, I don’t know why. In the other pages everything looks well.

Moreover, since the update I don’t see the “Header manager” orange button in TagDiv Composer and I can’t hide the footer. So if I want to make an empty page I just can’t do it, because you also removed the empty page template.

It’s true I updated the theme overwritting, but I deleted the theme, TagDiv plugins and uploaded the latest version downloaded from themeforest, and the problem still persists.

I’ve been so many years updating the theme overwritting (I didn’t know it’s not a good practice), and now I just noticed in FTP that I have a lot of folders and files, many of them empty and I think now the hosting is “dirty”.

I just don’t know what to do to solve the problems.

Hello !

We are sorry for your inconvenience !

I pressume you have made an update. It is mandatory to delete all theme related files from the older version before intalling this update. Overwriting the files would cause a lot of problems. If you are certain that you have installed the updates correctly by deleting all of the older versions and made a clean install from scratch please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Also take a look at our documentation about installing the theme and plugins: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-plugins-and-update-plugins/ ; https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-newspaper-theme/

Hi,

Please ensure that you have correctly installed the theme via FTP way according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and also, make sure if you have respected a lot the thing from our theme’s requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Major of this problem happens due to a bad configuration of your parameters, like PHP memory.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello !

Unfortunately that video was not working for the updates newer than 9.7.1 At the moment we do not have a video tutorial on how to update the theme via FTP but we are working on it. If you follow this steps it should be fairly easy:

Step 1 – Open the folder “Themes” located in “Your Site’s Name/Wp-Content/Themes” and backup your Newspaper Theme folder by saving it somewhere on your computer. You can also choose to delete it. Your content won’t be lost, but please note that if you have any theme code modifications, they will be lost. You have to reapply them after the update is over.
Step 2 – Connect your FTP account using Filezilla. Navigate to the WordPress theme directory within Filezilla (“Your Site’s Name/Wp-Content/Themes”).
Step 3 – Download the newest version of the Newspaper Theme from ThemeForest.
Step 4 – Unzip the “Newspaper-tf” archive file and the “Newspaper.zip” file.
Step 5 – Extract “Newspaper.zip” file.
Step 6 – Delete the existing Newspaper theme folder
Step 7 – Drag and drop the new “Newspaper Theme” folder into “Your Site’s Name/Wp-Content/Themes”. Your content will not get removed! Update all of your plugins, for more information regarding this visit this links: https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ ; https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-plugins-and-update-plugins/

Hi Vlad,

Just want to make sure I’m following 100 percent.

“Take note that is mandatory to delete all what was left from the older theme version before intalling this update.”

What exactly do you mean by this? While I don’t see this in the resources you provided, it suggests to me that we need to delete all the pages we created, the plug-ins associated with our current version of newspaper, and thee theme itself, and then rebuild everything. Can’t we just overwrite the old theme through FTP, keep the pages as they are, and update the plug-ins after the theme is installed?

I updated to 9.7.1 two weeks ago and there was a video of how to do it via FTP. I can’t find that video and need it to update to 9.7.2. I have this link https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ but it doesn’t have the video for FTP.

Thanks,
Stacey

Hey Vlad,

I have checked all the solutions mentioned by you in the previous comments, none of them worked. Just sending the mail in the admin details and FTP in the mail.

Thank you!

Hello !

Indeed ! Your page speed increased significantly.

I see that the issue still persists and after some more search i’ve found that your header crashes. Logo not loading and that is the main cause for your slow load: https://www.screencast.com/t/DecVXEgX0

Please try changing your logo or disable it. Maybe even try with a different header style.

If the problem persist please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hello !

It could be a security setting, module or firewall, as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings. Take a look at this topic:

If you already checked or tried these, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Please include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi,

Please make sure if you are using the latest version of the theme installed/updated via FTP way, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. Also, check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi,

Please try again to download the theme from Theme Forest and update it via FTP way. In this case, you can be assured that it’s the latest version of the theme. Also, you should provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you!

Hi,

Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, check the system status parameters to be set up according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Hello !

In most cases the issue is caused by one of the cases below:

Could be caused by insufficient resources
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In this case the hosting provider should be able to increase them.

Or it could be a security setting, module or firewall, as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-options-2/

If you already checked or tried these, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Please include a link to this topic in the email.
