The theme doesn’t come with a header customize option for the category pages, you can only set a global header. It’s only possible with modifications on the code but it’s not an easy task, my suggestion is to hire a professional developer to make this modification for you. We plan to improve this section in a future update but i cannot provide a date for this implementation, we have a lot of features on the list and we have to take them one by one.

2. Unfortunately those VC column options don’t work but you can add a custom css class to that row/column you need to hide on mobiles like this: http://screencast.com/t/Y5B0S3wrEcje then use custom css to hide that row on mobiles or the viewport you want like this: http://screencast.com/t/69cIbmxcW
This is the css I’ve used you can set the “ttt” class your self and sue the css below to hide it and place it in theme panel > advanced css on the device you need to hide it.

3. That unfortunately can’t be done easily as the theme isn’t designed to support blocks in the header. Please note that in approximately two weeks the new version of the newspaper theme will be available with more customization options available for the top menu and more header styles from you can chose so you can decide then if you want to design your own header or use a predefined one.

Unfortunately style 3 was not designed for featured video, in version 5 of the theme will be added a post template especially for video posts.

Unfortunately the theme use the same logo also on mobile when is used header style 3 and 6. You can change the width for logo image on mobile using custom css media queries in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/u2S5E5vVp

For that white space you will need to remove margins for logo and header ad, but you will need custom work for that for different screen size and also it will break the main menu. I’m not sure what you mean. Do you want to show header ad only for category pages?
You can add a condition there to display the header ad only on category pages(also depends what header style you use), so for example if you use header style 3 – http://screencast.com/t/4PX2ZOnf2hr1
