Newspaper V 6.5.1
Wordpress V 4.7.4
Visual Composer V 5.2

We are having an issue with Visual Composer elements. The blocks, which were previously available when you choose an element in VC are now not showing. The actual code is there if you look at the text in the page (example: [td_block_big_grid_6 td_grid_style=”td-grid-style-4″ category_id=”26″ offset=”1″])

…but the blocks themselves are not appearing in the element list. Previously, you could choose a block to display on the page and select various categories / filters but none of that is available now.

If I create a test page and put one of the templates on it (like a homepage template) on it, the blocks will still appear on the front end, but the column design is not correct.

This site was created by a previous developer who did not create a child theme so we can’t upgrade it at this time. We place to rebuild it at some point, but for now getting it fully functional is the highest priority.

Hi, just wondering how I can remove or switch off td-pb-article-list displaying at the bottom of the page along with the search bar. For some reason it adds main features in here when we only want them at the top? See: http://www.peterboroughloves.co.uk/ any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

There is no option to create landing pages in the theme. You can only create normal pages, using the tagDiv composer
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
And set the homepage you want, for your website
https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
The mobile theme plugin is optional. If it is not activated, the same content from desktop will be displayed on mobile devices. The theme is fully responsive and will adapt in all cases.
If the mobile plugin is activated, this comes with predefined templates for the homepage, category page, post page etc.

Hello regiusplus,

Unfortunately, we do not have any specific video which shows you when exactly you can create a demo like Blog Health but please notice that we have such a video which allows you when you can create a homepage, like this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC7iz-v-zIY Please notice that if you like our demo, you can import it on your website and the layout will be the same. Also, notice that you can import it without content or import it with dummy content. Very important is to not edit the dummy content with your content because if you want to change the demo with another one, all of the edited content will be lost. You should create your content from scratch and please do not edit. Recreate it with yours and then remove it. More information can be found here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Thanks for your understanding!

HI there, on the homepage of my site when you are logged in as an editor or admin there is a great function whereby you can edit a post that is displaying by hovering over the image like so and an edit button appears (if you are the admin or editor). Its shows like this: http://recordit.co/aKdogGpmbd

However if you visit one of my category pages or even a post page (when still logged in) then there is no edit button available for the editor or admin to edit the post if they spot a typo or anything like this? Any ideas on how to get this function working everywhere and not just on the homepage?

Thanks in advance,
James

Hi,

The homepage seems to be empty, there is no page structure and content except a registration message
https://www.screencast.com/t/ohg8Thquasp
A suggestion would be to first check the theme system status, and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide, if necessary
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Then deactivate all your plugins except the ones provided in the theme package, (uninstall the demo if it appears installed) and install the demo again.
The demo install process should go without any issues
https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Please let us know if you still have problems installing a demo.

Thanks

Hello mmedia6587,

You should simply use the Page with Page Title as the page template and use the code above only for homepage.

Try this ->

.home .td-page-title{
display:none;
}

Thanks.

Hi there, i was hoping you could help outline how I can remove the author name from some of the content blocks on my homepage. For example my homepage here has author name showing on some posts and not on others and I would prefer to hide the author name and just show the date: http://recordit.co/jEGVEKRFG3

It seems to only show the author name on the lead posts on certain content blocks. Any ideas on how to hide this.

Thanks in advance,
James

Catalin I appreciate you want to help here.
Please tell me where exactly should I add the above code and if this hides only HOMEPAGE title and the titles on the rest of pages will stay visible ?
I use my wp website as static website, meaning homepage is DEFAULT PAGE without any pagebuilder. Just static homepage.

Thx

Oh, and when I’m on the dashboard, if I hover over my homepage/site name in the top left, it gives me the drop down with the options for “Visit Site” and “Theme Panel”. Theme Panel is in bright red text…it feels like it’s trying to tell me something? I don’t know if that’s useful information or not.

Hello,
I cannot remove the page title on homepage.
I am using DEFAULT template.

Please help. I read similar cases on the forum but nothing seems to help.

Hi,

We are trying to use the Mark New Posts plugin to show users where new posts are on the homepage.
https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/mark-new-posts/

However for some reason this plugin is not working with the Newspaper Theme and instead shows this:

https://www.screencast.com/t/kRBzzAfzDfow

Is there any way to get this fixed?

Hi,

Is there an estimate on when Responsive options will be added to the TD Composer? I was starting to rebuild my homepage (thankfully on a staging site) when I noticed this option doesn’t exist on the new composer, so I can’t hide/show content based on device.

Responsive options should be pretty basic these days, and the fact that they’re missing from the new composer is a big drawback, making it impossible for me to replicate my Visual Composer homepage.

Any idea on when these features will be added?

Thanks

Hi,

Since a couple of days i have a php error on my sidebar but only when i’m on the homepage (i use the same sidebar everywhere and there’s no problem except from homepage)
I’ve switched from the 5.6 to the 7.1 version of PHP recently but i don’t understand why there is this problem (and why only on the homepage)

Hi,

For the homepage you can use a code like this, to set a background for the sidebar
https://www.screencast.com/t/MyuzY1tat
You can change the color to what you want, and then enter the code in Theme panel->Custom CSS section

.home .tdc-content-wrap .td-pb-span4 {
background-color: lightgrey;
}

For the posts you can use a code like this if you want to set a background there also
https://www.screencast.com/t/mtb5UEmEnzX0

.single .td-main-sidebar {
background-color: lightgrey;
}

Thanks

Hi,

I have inspected your website and for me the article titles on the homepage seem to have the color you set, for the h3 heading
https://www.screencast.com/t/drJQ4J06zoNr
Maybe it is a caching issue, try clearing any installed cache.

Thanks
