* Rename the short codes via SQL
* Please note that the renamed widgets have to be re added to each sidebar after this update. Make sure that you backup your database and if possible get the widget list from your sidebars.

Unfortunately we did not tested any plugins like this, so I cannot make any recommendation. a)i tried all things your listed options, except “you have to set a featured video”, nothing works.
I dont understand what is meant by “set a featured video”.
Do we have to set every single video imported to the site, to featured image? but this doesn’t make sense.
We use a video robot and it imports different videos from youtube etc.
The index page shows these different videos and they change hourly. In the hundreds.
But still after clicking on them it opens the page but there is no video.
I didn’t set up a single post page. We just installed the theme and child theme as in documentation,
and loaded the settings and demos. http://www.yougothype.com is our page. i hope this is the link you want.

b)Infinite Load doesn’t seem to work on any page.
Again we followed the email steps you sent but they didn’t work.
Our settings:
In Visual Composer for Main Page/Index page:
Parent – Homepage Infinite Scroll
Template- Homepage Blank
Used Block 8
-multiple category filter(hollywood, rides, luxury)
-Random Posts
Limit Post Number-5 (this is set automatically)
Pagination – infinite load is set
(load more was also tried. this shows on page. but when clicked its shows load circle but nothing more is added or changed. so this doesn’t work either. FYI.)
But please help with the Infinite Load.
Without these the site is useless 🙁

as noted in my posts; you need to activate the Visual Composer to “edit” your home page again or anything else using VC. The shim just provides the CSS for the TagDiv modules so they work — there is no other way to edit VC layouts except with VC.
So, you can leave the shim active, turn on VC, then go edit stuff, save, then turn off VC.
That is what I have been doing. Luckily you don’t generally need to keep changing your homepage layout all the time; just tweak stuff. And of course, a sidebar for home page can be edited from appearance > widgets without VC being active.

TIP: use the VC version from January (e.g., that came with NewsMag 1.6; 4.4.2) if you have that, as that does allow me to edit stuff without crashing box. I am *not* using the latest VC on any of our sites for anything.

I am using The Events Calendar plugin on my website, but the categories that I create in the the Events section do not appear in the categories listed on my dashboard (Events categories can only be found under The Events Calendar’s “events” tab). This makes it impossible to set the list of events on my homepage screen. I tried applying tags to the events but that is not working either. Could you tell me, please how I can get the categories to appear in my website’s list of categories?

I need “block settings” because I have a problem with pictures. But I hope I can resolve it without.
I used the plugins “force regenerate thumbnails” and “reg. thumbnails”.

I’m using Big slide on my homepage. Is there any way to remove the title and the black gradient from the slide, so it just shows an image? It would be very helpful for the type of site I’m creating.

I guess that you have looked on Newsmag theme demo and documentation. Unfortunately the Homepage Post is not available for Newspaper theme at this time. In version 5 of the theme will be added more blocks/modules and some features that already are used in Newsmag.

YOu need to create a custom sidebar (I call mine homesider).
Then in your home page layout create columns like
[row [wide column][sidebar] ]
then assign your custom homesider/sidebar to the sidebar element on homepage.

But I want the first articel to be shown on the left and bigger, the other 3 ones on the right to the bigger one.

First Findings: Added the Shim plugin, left VC on. According to P3 it’s exactly the same and nothing has changed. Still slow and VC seems to be using a lot of resources.
I have deactivated VC and already seems super fast. Although I am getting this two short codes that aren’t display what it needs to:

I am very happy so far. It would be cool if the short codes would work, but I will trade it in for speed any day.
One thing I did notice was the Smart Sidebar no longer works on the homepage. Not sure if it’s due to me remove the space and top lines, and less room or it’s because VC is no longer active.

In homepage, when I try to go in the second page of CASTELLI DELLA BAVIERA, website go in a wrong page. I have disabled all plugin and at the end I have discovered that is the plug in YOAST. How is it possible?

On my homepage I’m using Block 11, which contains Module 10. In the documentation it shows that Module 10 has a thumbnail size of 180 x 135.
When I use a three column layout with Block 11, the image shrinks to 80 x 60. How can I maintain the 180 x 135 thumbnail size? 80 x 60 is just too small.

2) Noted on the image size of 745×483. I thought it was 700px. My mistake. Sorry. I’ve input the code in Theme Panel > Custom CSS. Solve the thumbnail issue.
3) That explains it! I setup the sidebar widget in Homepage AND Widget so I was seeing double. I deleted those in Widget. I now know I should put a Widgetised Sidebar in the page content and setup my sidebar in Widget instead.
4) I’ve removed Adsense as it’s not appearing on the site. Others are fine.
5) Figured out the comment box issue yesterday. Thanks 🙂

Update: I can change the font on the homepage via the Theme Panel in the Theme Fonts > Page Content line.
The font style changes, but the font size does not. Is there a limit to the size of the font on the homepage? That would seem unusual.

I’m building the homepage with Visual Composer using blocks. For some reason, the fonts on the homepage won’t change.
I can go into the Theme Panel and select the fonts for the Module and Blocks Article Titles just fine and the title fonts change. That works.
Then, I’ll go to Post Content and select the font. That changes the font on the post pages themselves, but not on the homepage.
So for example, for Blocks 4 and 11 they have titles and then below the titles. The title fonts can be changed, but the text below the titles won’t change on the homepage.
