It’s attempting to load a td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/assets/images/thumb-disabled/td_265x198.png. I feel like there isn’t a thumb profile being made for the mobile version. I have tried the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and it did not have the ones that seemed to be required.

The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

See above your website says they need those two thumbnail sizes.

Is there anyway i can customize the mobile view of this page?

I tried reducing the image sizes to see if i can get the two rows to appear on mobile. but instead it just puts everything in one row.

Hello,

I just changed my theme to NewsPaper and i’m having some issues with the thumbs size, some images are not taking the full size for the blocks like in the categories and some others which is pretty problematic, i didn’t have this problem when i was on NewsMag, the images were always auto adapting their sizes to the block size .. how can i have the same thing in NewsPaper ?

Basically i don’t want to bother myself with images sizes, the theme should automaticaly use all the block no matter the size of the image, i remember that on my previous theme, some images were automatically zoomed or resized to fit all the block, i would like to have the same thing there, i hope i’m clear enough …

Also another problem is that the speed of my site when testing on PageSpeed Insight is really horrible compared to before … how can i fix that ?

Here is the URL of my site: https://fitnessreads.com/

Thank you.

When I want to upload or change any images, I am getting error message. I tried to change the sizes of images and upload new high quality images but I can’t.. What could be the reason for this? Error message “Invalid data Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”. Thank you

What the are the best sizes for the big images on frontpage and post page, so we can avoid pixelating images out of aspect ratio?

I’m building out a site for a local community paper, who’s staff isn’t graphic designers. Is there an overall catch all image size for this theme that will scale down into the other image sizes as needed. The problem is people are posting full size images and when it posts to the big grid slide, were getting images cut off of peoples faces and only foreheads are showing. What I would like to do with these guys is just have them make a standard image size and scale the images into that size for posting on the website and no matter where it’s posted it will look good. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Disappeared from where exactly? The post pages or the modules, or both? If there are featured images set https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/ and you regenerated the thumb sizes that are active in the theme panel https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ then there should be no problem, at least for the modules. You don’t have to replace the featured images is they are already set for each post.

Please provide a link to the website so I can take a look. Or send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login as well. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thank you!

I believe there is a bigger issue here.
I’m not sure you wish us to change the image sizes of the featured images to a smaller version, as if we do so, what will happen if someone will view my site on desktop version on the big screen? my image quality will be damaged.

One of the great benefits of using a responsive theme is that it should take any image with its original dimensions and scale it based on the display dimensions.

In this case, my goal, of course, is to aim for always uploading to the media library the largest dimensions possible for any image.

Can you please help me here with a greater explanation and elaboration?

Hi . . I have added a cloud template to a page on my site (https://www.propertyportfoliomagazine.com/index.php/about-pp-mag/) . . .I’m happy with the layout but when I try to change the images they come in as being really small. How can I change the current images and ensure my new images display as the same size as the images already on the page? thx

I realized for every image 25 images were being created and realized it was because I had turned on all the thumb sizes in Theme Panel > Block Settings > Thumbs on Modules and Blocks (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=td_theme_panel) when I first started using Newspaper X and was trying different templates. Now that I’ve settled on the default template which only uses Flex Blocks 1,3,4 and then I added a Module 7, am I correct in assuming that I can turn off ALL the block thumbnails that don’t mention Module 7 and Flex Blocks 1,3 and 4 and therefore only leave the following turned on? https://snipboard.io/hMwHFl.jpg

The image shown above is 131px x 11px. I included in a post as follows:

(img src=”https://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/cmc1.png” alt=”” width=”131″ height=”11″ /)

However, when I look at the HTML on the post displayed (above), it reads:

(img src=”https://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/cmc1.png” alt=”” width=”131″ height=”11″ srcset=”https://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/cmc1.png 131w, https://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/cmc1-70×6.png 70w” sizes=”(max-width: 131px) 100vw, 131px”)

How can I correct this. (Many posts are affected.)

TIA

Thanks for your help.

With regards to the breadcrumbs issue, I would expect the category level of the breadcrumbs that reads ‘Opinion’ to be clickable in this example:
https://kku.557.myftpupload.com/opinion/what-is-bedroom-pop
Is there something I need to update in the admin panel?

And with regards to the images- on the archive listing pages we wanted a 2 column grid. In your template system it would have made sense to use either of the modules M1 to M5 for this sort of layout, however the images always looked really blurry on higher res monitors. When I actually investigated, I could see that module M1 & 2 were generating the crop sizes 324x160px standard & 648x320px retina, and module M3, 4 and 5 were generating 324x235px standard and 648x470px retina crops. A standard 13″ MacBook has a default resolution of 2560×1600, so the 648px retina crop just doesn’t seem large enough for a 2 col grid where the image will need to fill 50% width of the site, even if your overall site container were capped at 70 or 80% of the screen. The only way I have been able to get the images to look sharp on higher res monitors has been to use one of the full width module layouts (in this case M14) and override it’s default layout in the CSS so that the modules actually collapse to a smaller grid. This just doesn’t seem very practical, as I would have preferred the module layouts to work better for all screen sizes ‘out of the box’. Anyway I’m not sure you’ll be able to offer any further assistance for that issue, as obviously the image crop sizes are currently fixed, but if you can advise on the breadcrumb query that would be appreciated.

Hi,

1. The custom fonts are still working in Newspaper v10.3.3 pleas let me know the implementation you’ve made and some screenshots.
Also the font family will apply on h elements ->https://i.imgur.com/KAVsfeF.jpg but there are h elements that have other elements with a stronger css.
2. There are elements that can be edited from theme panel, but most of theme can be edited with tagDiv Composer and these will have individual settings for example flex blocks -> https://i.imgur.com/2EIKd02.png

3. Please check this similar topic -> Jetpack resizes my images too small, then blows them up to be seen all blurry

Thank you!

Hi there, I’ve been using the Newspaper theme to set up a site on a staging platform, and we’re nearly ready to go live, but I’ve noticed a few issues. Firstly the secondary (category) level of the breadcrumb string is not a clickable link, as expected, but I can’t find anything in the documentation on how to turn this on.

Secondly, I turned on all sizes of standard and retina crop, and yet certain module templates are still looking really low res on certain screens. For example the M3 module blocks. And yes the retina crops were turned on prior to image upload.

Hi,

Our theme will not use the images/thumbs made by WordPress -> https://i.imgur.com/B4ylCJx.png it will use the thumbs that are made using the settings from theme panel -> https://i.imgur.com/Mhrf674.png thse thumbs will be use only for featured images, these will be display in blocks/modules and at the top of articles.
Also we recommend to enable in theme panel only the thumb sizes you are using, in this way you’ll prevent to create thumbs with a dimension that will not be use.
All the thumbs size from theme panel are good and you can use them.

Thank you!

Some of the featured images on my posts are suddenly smaller than they were before. While others are still the right size.
Here are some examples of the different sizes they are showing:
https://www.fiscalflamingo.com/new-kroger-weekly-ad-and-early-sneak-preview/
https://www.fiscalflamingo.com/how-much-money-do-flight-attendants-make/

Could you please help me with this to get them all back to the correct size? Thank you!

Thanks,

Hello, my site’s mobile version thumbnails aren’t showing: https://www.screencast.com/t/SccjzZpm4p

I have read the blog post for the Newspaper mobile theme that stated “The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.” I’m not exactly sure what this means. Am I supposed to create two separate thumbnails, or choose one of the dimensions, if not, how do I get the dimensions for my site’s mobile version to be working/showing?

Another separate question I have regarding the Newspaper theme is in regards to the sharing options.

Under Theme Panel>Post Settings>Sharing, there is only 1 option for sharing, and that is Naver (https://www.screencast.com/t/4vqwONyb2NzZ), from what I’ve seen, there are supposed to be more options for sharing posts.

Please advise me on how to fix these two issues, thanks.

Hi,

Can’t find any solutions online unfortunately, I searched for a while. You could search for different solutions or consider using plugins to display Instagram images, maybe some plugins have options to choose from multiple sizes.
Check some of these for example, and try some free plugins
https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/12-instagram-plugins-for-wordpress-worth-installing/

Also, I’ll inform our developers about this and they we’ll know the next step that need to be made.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hello !

By going in Theme Panel – Blocks Settings -Thumbs you will be able to see What sizes each block uses. By inspecting your website you will be able to see what blocks do you use. Then deactivate all the unused thumb sizes.

You can remove the images but only the unused sizes.

I hope this was helpful !

Thank you !

I migrated my site recently and discovered Newspaper had been generating 24 copies of every image uploaded.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/g6p1l7lzqcvw5j8/Screenshot%202020-04-29%2012.05.40.png?dl=0

This had led to huge folders and the need to keep upgrading my hosting. We’re trying to slim everything down, and I ran across this similar complaint from a few years ago.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/furured-image-thumbnails/

I’m wondering if this is still the best solution? Is there a way to simply turn off the image generation? My site is very old and has older posts that display just fine without all the extra sizes.
