Please check this only with Visual Composer active, disable all other plugins and clear cache. Also do you use the latest theme version(1.7.1) and Visual Composer provided with the theme(4.4.4)? Please install the theme using FTP method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ Let us know!

@rjohansen As Chris also said here the theme settings are stored in your database and I’m not sure how those are affected there if you haven;t done anything to alter them, we didn’t have any other reports of this happening so please update the theme to the latest version as I’ve noticed you use theme’s version 4.5 while the latest is 4.6.3 so download the theme from themeforest: http://themeforest.net/downloads then use this update guide to and the FTP method to update the theme, make sure that you also empty caches, disable plugins then update the theme then update the theme’s plugins from the /plugins folder provided within theme’s files.
Make sure that you also create backup of your database and current theme/wordpress install: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Thank you for your reply, it doesn’t help us unfortunately. We did install the plugin already last week. The only thing what we can’t figure out is how we can make a ‘log in’ possibility for the forum. How can a visitor make an account to get access to the forum?

I installed three times, the issue carefully.
When I delete all the files and re-install the plugin and template, you start, the site is displayed as soon as I enable the visual composer it goes blank page.
I created a space dedicated to testing, but does not solve the problem without other clean install wordpress plugin with only necessary for the subject and I have the same problem can you help?
When you update a theme it over-writes the original theme files; if you made changes to those files you will lose them, obviously.
For the theme panel, it’s common for some things to reset due to the oddities of WordPress where sometimes the sidebars reset and you have to drag stuff back into place.
Normal transient options and theme panel options should not be lost — and fyi, guess what you can export those before updating which is why auto-updates are bad — normal updating is still best done via FTP as you have no idea if the updater plugin might die/timeout while doing the updates and then you have a half-baked install.
However, theme panel “settings” should never be lost with proper update; and you can always juat re-import them, which you should already know how to do and be ready for from your back up files. Backups are always a good practice!
wordpress has a feature called, multisite where you can install multiple sites within the same site … subdomains type .. can do that with this template?

The activation warning appears a few days after you have installed the theme, till then you can use the theme. When you get the activation warning and activate the theme, it will not affect the demo content, your own articles or options that you have set in Theme Panel.

Thanks but I’ve tried this and nothing seems to work.
One thing I have just thought of though is that when I first got the theme I installed the “demo” theme but didn’t let it fully complete as I think my internet cut off.
Could this be the issue and is it worth trying to reinstall it again from scratch? I’m assuming this isn’t a common issue with the theme?
I just want to add, this caused a failure of my install backup system with my host, wpeninge. So, they politely asked me to pass on to the plugin authors to please remove prior to packaging.

FYI …
you can try to do a full delete of the old folder via your hosting file manager;
then upload clean version via FTP — not the WP panel installer (!). Make sure your FTP software can “smart” upload txt vs binary files (some make you turn that feature “on”).
Make sure you have at least 128MB allocated to WordPress — which *must* be done from your wp-config.php file, in addition to the php.ini/panel settings in your hosting account.
Newsmag 1.71 *does* work fine with 4.4.2 if you are using that version vs the “latest” VC.

Just bought the theme today and read documentation. It is a great theme. I have some problems with the theme.
1. On the front page i want to use Block 7 with 2 COLUMNS >> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-7/, and 2 COLUMNS BLOCK 2 http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-2/. On my website they look with 3 columns the both blocks. Why?
2. Here the pictures have the same dimension in blocks http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-2/. On my website the pictures dont have the same dimension (featured image).
3. In categories “SHOW FEATURED SLIDER” dont work. From 4 posts the slider show only one pic from one post.
The site has 6 post on it, posted before install the theme.

and when i want to create a page i have 500 error. When i desactivated visual composer i can create a new page
I had disable all plugins exept visual composer and i have still the 500 error
Any idea ?
When I purchased the Newspaper theme I installed it and immediately installed the DEMO and liked it so much I started filling in content and modifying it.
Then I noticed I had not ACTIVATED the theme yet.
My question is when I activate the theme will it wipe out the DEMO? I hope not because I really like it and was hoping to modify it for my needs and content.
If it will wipe out the DEMO, how I can I preserve what I have already done?

Hi, recently bought and installed the Newspaper theme on my site and when i used the youtube video playlist block on visual composer it shows the list but cant play any video. Checked it with chrome element inspector and found this console errors:

@nelito Each time you update the theme no matter that you sue newspaper or newsmag you need to remove the plugin you previous used and install the ones provide in theme’s /plugins folder – for that theme you have installed and active: http://screencast.com/t/n03Q6vztYXe Those plugins versions are the ones tested and work best with the theme version you have.
Make sure you backup your theme install, WordPress and database also so you can revert if something goes wrong and go ahead on installing the plugins provided within theme’s files.

I am trying to install the “Big Slide” in the home page, but the 3 articles next to the main one are separated. So it is looking ugly.
I have regenerated thumbnails to create the thumbs for the slider, using this guide for that: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ but it is still not working.

Lately I have problem with google, because Google analytics says, that I don’t have tracking code installed. But the code is there! And Google Analytics by YOATS is also installed and connected. Now I am waiting if it will start working or not.
The site was previously hosted on blogger (3 months) and then I moved it to shared hosting. Since then (2 months now!) the google analytics doesn’t work (no data). Grrrrrr!

You basically delete old plugins, install new ones. All plugins are updated this way; you never “over-write” plugins. You might try my “how to move to new theme” sticky post 🙂
Do i need to remove the other ones or just install the new ones? Because they’re name is the same…
I’ve just installed the theme but it’s not showing at Preview. I am using Newsmag now and all the required plugins are installed (the old one, that came with newsmag). I am afraid to activate the theme and it shows only a blank site.
As my site is huge (11 millions month) i can’t afford to ne offline
Maybe i need to upload the new plugins that came with Newspaper?

the views counter is theme specific feature and it uses a custom filed to keep the count for your post views which started counting when you installed the theme so can’t show the all time views for your posts since before using this theme.
