I had to fully un-install my licensed version; then use the one included with the theme since it’s tested compatible and I think has some custom modules and whatnot.

I “think” some of the custom stuff is tied to the bundled version, license wise.

However, I could be completely wrong on that — but I know my version this past Spring did *not* work with Newspaper, so I’m going to say likely the same with Newsmag.

This test has been done on a NEW wordpress installation.

Is this normal?

I’d like an option to disable it too, but if we can have this working, it’d be better.

Really, I don’t understand why it doesn’t work to me, even on a new installation. Maybe that there’s a bug with PC resolutions 1440*900px? Could you test it with this resolution please?

I’ve tested it on a new installation, monitor 1440*900px… Nothing to do, the text in public post goes on a new line after it doesn in the preview post, ON THE SAME MONITOR.
Can you confirm that post preview-public post should be the same, on the same monitor, independing on its px, without doing any customization?

ok, here is something strange i noticed: after installing the VC plugin (from a fresh download of your theme) it told me it was on 4.3.5, after clearing the cache it now says it’s 4.3.4 again. what could be wrong here?

i disabled all plugins exepct VC, and reinstalled the theme, but still theme pannel is not loading, i can not make any changes…

Can you please say me is it true what i am doing?

That plugin looks like it hasn’t been updated since 2010. Good bet that’s why it won’t work on a modern theme.

This is most common with Internet Explorer; using Chrome works much better.

Sometimes it’s a bad plugin which conflicts with Visual Composer. Note if you’re running WP 4.1, you *must* have VC 4.3.5 installed, as WP 4.1 broke VC.

I tried this, followed the steps. It installs and you can see the latest version of VC, but the buttons (such as Add new Row, Add new element, settings cog) don’t work. Some javascript problem?

We use Newspaper as a child theme, would this make a difference?

thanks for the great support! will try all that on monday cos i’m not at the office right now. i think i have already updated the VC plugin using the method described above, but will try again on monday.

this is my first installation on this webspace so i have not tried the plugin on the host before.
