Hello! Just installed 9.7.1 on a staging site, and have gone through the various parts of my site (admin, front end, posts, new post). I must be missing something, because I don’t see any changes.
I was worried when I read “all the functionality is now in the page builder.” Since almost none of my site is built using the page builder, I wondered if all the posts would have to be rebuilt using TD Composer. (I thought TD Composer was only for pages, not posts?)
But everything looks the same. So, what am I missing?
I installed a couple of 404 templates from the “cloud library” and they list in the template page, but do not show and whenever I try to select I eventually get the above error. Any advice on what is going on? I don’t have timeout issues with anything else, and adjusted all php and wordpress settings, and no other timeout issues? Took screenshot but not sure how to upload here.

what do you mean with “AMP not appearing”? Since version 9.6 of Newspaper AMP is not anymore a part of the Newspaper-Theme and there is no AMP-menu inside the theme-settings anymore. You have to install the official AMP-Plugin of WordPress and do your configurations there. As soon as you have installed the offical AMP-Plugin there is a menu-entry (but not inside Newspaper anymore).

I have WPBakery Visual Composer on version 5.2. Right now the updated version is 5.7 and I would like to got it.
I download the newspaper-tf and inside plugins folder I have the td-composer.zip.
If I try to install td-composer.zip, It crash. Maybe first of all, is it neccesary to delete previous version?
Good Morning. My website https://japonpedia.com/ basically works as an affiliate website with links.
I am having problems with the links because they do not arrive correctly referred to the affiliation companies with which I work. that is, the affiliate company does not recognize my links. Therefore, I am losing commissions and money.
I installed a plugin because I read that it is negative for google to have many affiliate links coming out of the web. The plugin is called Nofollow for external link. Is it possible that I can cause this problem? What do you recomend?
There is some configuration that you can do in the theme newspaper to solve this. I have another website https://guiavi.com/ that uses another different theme and does not have this problem.
On the other hand, I would like to know if it is necessary to have an intact tagDiv Cloud Library. I’m not using any template for this plugin.

Well, it took 24 hours of turning off all plugins to try and get the new theme to work, until suddenly it clicked we still held the old Newspaper theme versions, so I installed the December 2018 theme version and the site came back to life.
What a disastrous release right before Easter holidays! Hopefully tagDiv will report they have found the fault that broke our site. At least I will remember to put the old theme back if it breaks again.
I guess this is called gaining experience.
Yeah that is the issue.
I tried to install it manually but it just shows me a blank page when I try it.

Is blank and stays blank no matter how often I refresh.
I did just check the other sites and all are blank.
Do you think that is more likely a general problem with my hosting than an issue with the theme?

Had the same problem fixed by deleting the theme and installing it again and then installing the plugins! Manual uploading giving more problems!
I just tried to update theme within wordpress and this error is occuring:
“Update failed: Could not remove old theme”, or something similar.
Other times it says: “Update Failed: The theme is at the latest version.” when it is not at the latest theme.
Do I always have to download the new file and reinstall the theme in my local folder manually?
I have installed wordpress on localhost for now while I get to understand how the theme works.
I have recently updated the theme after the big changes, and reinstalled the theme. It doesn’t seem to want to update within wordpress – is this normal for localhost?
Then my next question is, it is now saying “td_footer_template_4 is not set” and I the page looks funny when I view the website. What’s happening please?

I was very looking forward (after long and careful consideration) to start building my website with Newspaper.
I downloaded the Theme (as ZIP), installed it (right as the ZIP) and activated it.
Afterward, I was asked to install the three Plug-Ins.
Two were successfully installed (the first two) the third one had an error.
After refreshing the page (still could not install the Plug-In) I closed the tab and opened a new one.
Now I tried to log in to my WordPress but it just shows me this:

Gives messages for all 3 plugins: Ajax Error
Gives error HTTP error 500 and cant access anymore wordpress. Went to cpanel to rename td-composer to td-composer_old
Then possible to access wordpress again. Tried to remove and attempt install of plugins automatically few times, always failure.

Upon attempt to activate TD composer, again Error http 500
Page is down nonstop, due to no ability to update td composer and other 2 plugins.

I installed Newspaper 9 and I am testing it. For the moment I have found an error. Subfooter options do not work. I have tried to change the “footer copyritght text” and the site does not respond to the changes. Neither the field “copyright symbol” and “show sub-footer”. I hope some help. Thank you…
I just purchased your theme to do an update to my website. I installed your theme, and installed the “Black Page” demo and i can now no longer get into my wp-admin of my site at all. If you goto http://www.paranormalexistence.com/wp-admin you will see the errors

I am trying to use the Cloud Library plugin but it won’t install because it says it’s not compatible with the current version of Newspaper and then when I try to update it give an error saying “Unathorized”, PHP header not sent.
I do also get the same error message when Newspaper 9.7 or 9.7.1 is installed.

So I want to install a new TagDiv theme (Old fashioned) and make a new frontpage. I would like to keep my blogs/articles, pages and menu’s.
When I Install Old Fashioned the »Edit With TD Composer« disapears. I have tried deactivating plugins without luck.
My menu’s and most of my pages also disapears.
I have a backup.
Is there anyway I can change to another TagDiv theme and still keep my pages, menu’s and get the »Edit with TD Composer« to work?
Another thing, I can’t get WP Bakery to work so I can delete blocks created with it. When I go to >pages>frontpage and use Bakery, the blocks I want to delete are not there. 😀

Hi, I just updated the newspaper theme a few days ago. Now another one. What version is the new one? I installed 9.7. Is this different than 9.7?

It seems the problem was:
Mixed Content: The page at ‘<URL>’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘<URL>’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.
I have installed a plugin and the problem is now solved.
I thought it was because I have two purchased installations of Newspaper theme and Envato was just catching up on both but I too would like to know if there is another update. I successfully updated to 9.7 (despite reading about all the problems) but it would be nice to know how if there is a new update…

Unfortunately as per the new envato requirements, https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements we had to move all of the theme functionality to a plugin. We chose tagDiv composer as it was a required theme plugin and most users already benefit from it’s features. It was the best choice to move the functionality to. unfortunately, having more than 1 page builder can have downsides indeed as in most cases there are elements that conflict with each other. Wpbakery is going obsolete as even the developer stopped investing in it so we decided it was time to work with our own page builder instead. What you can do is revert back to the previous version of the theme for the time being (you cna download the previous version from here: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Newspaper-tf.zip) and we strongly recommend moving over to tagdiv composer as all of the theme functionality will be added through the tagDiv composer from here on. You can make the move slowly on a separate install so you do not affect your live website. You can create a testing environment and create the pages there over time and replacing the ones on your live site once you are done for minimum impact on the front-end. You will then be able to use the tagdiv composer instead of VC and benefit from all the functionality of the composer and cloud library plugins.

Yesterday Envato messaged me that there was a new update for Newspaper. When i installed i became an error message that said that the style.css was missing. My site was a mess after that. Had to restore an backup.
Today i get another alert from Envato about an update?
Is this really a new update and if so, what does it do. As i stated in my post from yesterday i am done with Tagdiv Composer. I asked what would be the consequences if i stop updating from now on. Still no answer.

Please ensure that your theme has been properly updated according to our guide from here
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please remove all of them and leave just to active only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files. If the problem is still there after this, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) and Cpanel so we can further investigate it closer your setup page.
