I try to install newspaper theme on WP 4.9.4 and receiving this message:

The same problems with speed. Problems stared after installation of newspaper theme 8.7 over 8.6.
Now I try following, the same server, fresh wordpress installations and only Yoast plugin. One with Divi theme other one with Newspaper 8.7.
Both in Add new post wp-admin and press F5 on both, I pressed first on Newspaper then immediately on Divi.
Divi shows all forms of Add new page in 3-4 sec and keep reloading in 10-15 sec.
Newspaper shows all Add new menus in 14-16sec and keep rolling and rolling to 40-45 sec.
Very noticable slower than Divi theme. Didn’t test with older Newspaper 8.6, but as far as I remember I didn’t have noticable problems with older version.
I measured 5x times in a row, and Newspaper is always too slow.
Any suggestion please. I can install old theme and try with older theme if you want.

Once the edit button is clicked you should be directed to edit mode. Check the theme system status

Increase the allocated resources if needed. Also Deactivate all other plugins as a test, leave only theme plugins active. Then check if there still is a problem. Let us know.

This error should not be there if the theme has been correctly installed via FTP way, sorry! Try to make a new install to another sub-domain for testing, clear all the caches and check the results. I have made some tests on my side and this error does not appear.

Try clearing all caches installed or server provided, clear the browser cache on the Mac you are using as well. If there is no issue on other devices, there should be none on all devices since it is the same content.
Just updated our theme and everything went kapootz.
I am needing to:
a) Remove the black square box that has the comment count (we use a comment disabler app so we don’t have comments so a box of zero is popping up on the front page and all over). Is there an easy way, I don’t know programming. I read somewhere it says add this code. How do you add a code?
b) The front page has articles from like 4 years ago and the recent ones are no where to be found. I also found documentation on this but do I create a new page? Or edit the current one? The current page has a different template, not the one that says latest articles. I’m afraid ill crash the site by changing it.
c) We had them install the EventOn calendar, so now how does one implement it on the live site?

Let me clarify. I figured out to set the sidebar for categories. How do I set it for the main page? I keep trying but it just doesn’t work. When I installed the Breaking News demo I selected settings, not demo content because I have a ton of blog posts already. Every time I try to add the sidebar using the Composer, it affects the global block under the news ticker.

After installing Revolution Slider from the zip file as per the instructions, tagDiv Composer crashed. Now tagDiv Composer will not open under any circumstances on any page. I’ve read all of the forum posts on this error and have followed all of the guidance, except a full fresh install of my website:
1. Checked Super Cache settings
2. Disabled Super Cache
3. Disabled all third party plugins
4. Disabled tagDiv Composer (this yields an error message on page load “Did you disable some of your tagDiv plugins?” (or very similar verbiage) and the page that loads is useless as it can barely be read.
5. Reactivated the tagDiv Composer (page now loads correctly) however the tagDiv Composer itself still does not work (can’t use editor).
So, something is corrupted and got that way via the installation of Revolution Slider (perhaps?)
htaccess?
a php file?
an ini file?
something else.
Can’t use this now, so I’m using WPBakery page editor, with poor results. (Yes, I tried disabling it too.) Don’t know what to do next short of a totally brand new install, which will burn a many days of work.

I recently installed an SSL Cert to my website, after reading a few articles from this forum,
I was able to remove all the Mixed content warning, and eventually forced https on all the pages.
When I visit my website from some PCs using chrome(updated) , it works fines, I can see the green lock on all pages.
But when I visit my website from my own Mac using chrome, the green locks vanishes as soon as the images are loaded.
The lock works in my admin page, and also on mobile.
Can someone give me some help? Thanks a lot.
That solution worked for all users since it has been provided. Either make the modifications in the mentioned file or update the theme to 8.7.2. The latest theme version contains many improvements over the previous version including a fix or the issue. Check the theme changelog

As far as untested plugins are concerned I removed them before I installed newspaper.

I have inspected your source page and I saw that you have Newspaper v.8.7.1 Please update it to the latest version of it (v.8.7.2) and reinstall the AMP plugin which comes bundled with this kind of version, clear all the caches and check the results.

1. That is not possible, only the latest version of the theme is always available for download. Currently the theme is version 8.7.2

Please download the latest theme package and install it, the most recommended method to update themes is by FTP

2. Update all the theme plugins after updating the theme. Let us know if there still is a problem and what exactly the error is.
3. Provide a link to your website and we will inspect this issue. I have tested simple drop-down menus, there are no issues with them. Check the live theme demo Homepages menu (latest theme version is installed in demo)

That could be caused by a third party plugin, you could try as a quick test to deactivate them all and check the results.
4. We will inspect this if you could provide a link to your website. It could be a combination of colors in the theme panel, so the icon is not visible

Or it could be some other issue.
5. There were no changes in the theme regarding the thumbnail creation. These are created the same as before. If the images you use are of quality, the thumbnails will be as well. Unless you have a form of image compression/optimization or quality filter added by you or provided by the server.
