I’m responding to my own messages here, as I learn more about how this theme is working, feel free to point any mistakes to me please 🙂
If I use the tagdiv builder, there are no page templates. The only way to copy your existing templates, is to install a demo WITH content (which will create the demo pages), and for the page I want the template of, simply copy its shortcode into a new page, and then edit that with tagdiv builder in the frontend.
If I want to load/save page templates, I need to use the visual composer builder, which will allow me to use an existing page template that you have from your demo. But then I am locked in using the visual composer for this page.
So if these two statements above are correct, and the pitch is that the tagdiv builder is a lot better, I need to install a demo with content, and copy-paste shortcodes from pages whose layouts I want to re-create in my site. Correct?
Is this pretty much it ? Have I got it right? 🙂
Looks like its a problem with Visual Composer 5.2! I reinstalled 5.1 and it’s working fine. Are you going to support js composer 5.2??
Nothing shows up when I edit a newly created page. The option to “ADD ELEMENT” appears on the left side. The right side is blank. Nothing happens when I add a block.

No errors on my other sites! all this just started after installing Newspaper8
I just purchased the newspaper theme and I’m a bit lost as to how I import existing templates for my pages.
I installed one of the demos (without content, since I have hundreds of posts already)
Now when I create a new page (to start building a homepage for example), I get the tagdiv builder by default, which only allows me to insert elements and build the page from scratch block by block.
I can’t see where I import page templates, can you please assist?

I am having problems with Newspaper8. Not sure if others experienced the same problem first up when installing. I seem to now be missing all the “Block” elements that you can choose to build a page.
Any ideas on what could be the issue?

Thank you Bogan, but we are only using performance oriented plugins, like Cloudflare, Yoast and AMP
So, we just installed:
* tagDiv Speed Booster
* Remove Query Strings From Static Resource
* Imagify
And the load is sightly better
May I have your opinion about also use some extra plugins like:
* Use Google Libraries
* WP-Optimize
* Fast Velocity Minify

I have installed the template in AWS of Amazon, and when I want to make changes in Control Panel of the template newspaper, I do not see the button to save changes, and it seems that this function is not active (ie I can not configure the header, footer …).
Could you confirm that the template is installed on an Amazon server?

When testing teh pagespeed, it is better to do it without having google ads and only essential plugins activated. Some plugins can have a negative impact regarding page speed.

During the last weeks we are facing a problem with the Homepage Post which stopped showing the featured image correctly. I read some topics and i reinstalled the updated theme from scratch along with the plugins and i cleaned the cached memory too but the problem stands still. If you mean those thumb icons on the side of the page, I don’t know where they are coming from. Maybe you have installed a plugin and that is placing them there. If that is the case, maybe you can configure the plugin settings to display them like you want.
For the social icons you can try this code to center them, they will look like this

Normally, the Envato policy allows using a theme only on one install. You can, however, use the theme on a sub-domain if you plan on creating a testing site, but if we are talking about totally different sites with different content, then only one theme per install is legally allowed.
Notice that the recommended and tested PHP version is 7.1. You can try using the 7.1.6 version because no major changes were made, just fixing some bugs.

This is a wp issue, not a theme issue. Best to install via ftp as Chris mentions.

First of all, please ensure that you have right installed the latest theme version via FTP way, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ because this is the surest method in this case and then, you should check the system status parameters to be according to our useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also, if you are using some untested plugins which can interact with thew theme core files and cause some untested plugins, you should remove all of them, leave just to active our required plugins and check the results.

Unfortunately, I do not know what kind of plugin you have installed for displaying a popular post widgets, sorry! Please keep in mind that our theme does not have any such a tested plugin and the theme can be broken. Notice that all of the untested plugins can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues like this. Please try using only of our tested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. If you want to display the popular posts on your widgets, notice that you can simply use such a block and sort it by popular post because the theme has this type of sorting to be available if you will check the block settings, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
