I’m trying to install the demo on this Newspaper theme and in order to do that it’s asking me to install the Visual Composer, But when I install the Visual Composer as instructed it gives the error message:
It said:
The plugin does not have a valid header.
Downloading install package from http://www.investment.id/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip…
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /home/invadm/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/
Plugin install failed.
Please advise to resolve this.

Every demo has it’s own css that is called when installing it. The css can be found in the demo folder for each demo style: http://screencast.com/t/28dH6lvq If you want to remove the style for a demo, you can access the css file and remove the styling but do this on your own risk. This is a ‘hack’ as the demos were not designed with a removable style.

I have uploaded newpaper theme on hostgator web hosting. After installing default demo, there so many places on homapage where some php code line are being displayed. Can somebody help in removing such messy formatting.

Today I thought it was a good idea to install a new demo template. But after this everything is going wrong.
The menus in the theme panel is for 50% broken. If I select for example “theme colors” and select some menus, the all collapse with “-1”.
I can’t edit anything in the theme menu.
If I go to ads, the menus are working, but the last couple of menu’s in the ads section is broken, same result “-1”.
Also when I save another footer, half an hour later it takes the demo settings again. So my settings saved is no 100% action. Saved the footer for the fourth time and now it works.
Another weird notice was after installing the demo layout it was auto posting blog posts from the theme demo. Also after deleting these posts they were installed again, and again and again, till I switch to the wordpress standard theme and switch back. Finally the autoposting is stopped.
But I think there is something not good in the theme. Before switching to the travel layout I have problems.
Latest theme version installed, system status everything green and working.
After searching for hours I can’t find anything wrong.

Hi all,
I have purchased the Newspaper theme and have installed it on WordPress. I have a current custom theme active and whenever I go to edit the Newspaper theme all it has is a header and some post topics from my previous theme.
I am extremely new to buying and installing themes. Do I have to remove all my previous theme contents to make it work? Any help/pointing towards tutorials would be fantastic.

I have recently installed say2 what demo of newspaper 7 and I am unable to change some basic colour schemes. Like from theme panel i have changed theme accent colour and header colour to default but it is still showing the theme colour. I have already cleared cache and all but still. Please help 🙁

Yes, it is latest version 7.1.1 but while installing demo it was 7.1

I just purchased the newspaper 7 theme and installed the cars demo. I kept receiving errors (about 5) while the demo was installing (“tagdiv importer detected an error”). When I hit “OK” the install continued but it seems the demo images didn’t upload correctly. Files are showing in the media gallery but there are no thumbnails which seems to suggest something is wrong. When I manually upload an image all seems fine. In looking at my site I’m not seeing:
– The Cars site logo
– The banner ad default image (alongside the logo)
– Slider images (but the wording is there for each slide)
I tried uninstalling the demo and reinstalling but the same thing happened. I uninstalled and reinstalled the theme but the same thing happened. Not sure what’s going on. I noticed there is a “Patch” directory in the directory with all of the theme files. Am I supposed to do anything with this?
I have screenshots of everything.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

The surest way in this regard is to install the Black Version demo from scratch. Also, please notice that every demo has an own custom design and it is not simple to achieve this from the Theme panel. As a hint, you will have to check the style.css for this type of demo, like so -> http://screencast.com/t/WxpENXAteJdH and there you will find all of the code which has used to achieve this design. Please notice that the best way to have the black version of our theme is to install that demo.

if you edited the demo content and did not create your own after you installed the demo, then this will hapen as the demo content will be removed. the best way is to create a back-up of your page by copying the page layout from text mode and pasting it in a new page. Basically create a duplicate of the content that will get removed. This is a common problem people have as it;s easier to edit the demo than create content from scratch but the downside is in this type of situations when people change demos after they already have their site set-up.
Please create duplicates of the content that gets removed so you no longer have edited demo content on your site.
(there is no way of installing a demo without the content being removed)

Please ensure that you fully updated your theme to the latest version of it only via FTP because this is the surest method regarding the updating theme. Also, please make sure that you have updated the required plugins to the latest version of them (Visual COmposer->4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.0). Also, if your problem is still there, please try to make a new sub-domain and try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and check the results. Our theme does come with demo content. If you updated to newspaper 7, you will have lots of demos to chose from. A demo is a theme ‘skin’ or style. I see you already removed the picture. It;a a logo not a simple image. You can add or remove logos from the header section of the theme panel.

There were a few issues with the server but they are now fixed and installing and uninstalling demos should work as expected now.

Please notice that you cannot install our demo using the child theme, sorry! If you like our recipe demo, please try to make a new install (another sub-domain) from scratch and then you will have to install our latest update of the theme and then our recipe demo with content or not and then, having that example it is easiest to create your own page by model than from scratch. Also, please notice that all of this information are part of custom work and this is not covered by our support. Hi, today we installed recipe demo without content on our child theme. After that, nothing happened. So, we imported theme settings from the txt file, than almost everything was ok. Some module settings were not ok, for example: in demo, for latest posts, there is only heading and category under image, but on our site was the same setting from our old settings.

I accidentally forgot to uncheck the box for don’t install the content when installing a demo. I’ve uninstalled the demo, then reinstalled making sure to turn off the content box – but the demo content is still there.
I’ve deleted all the posts – and now I have to do the images – but is there any automated way to just remove the demo content with having to do it manually?

When installing the Mobile Theme component for the first time, we were under the impression that it featured a customizable homepage with the option to place various blocks and other elements. This was based on the demo that’s available:
We were disappointed to find out that the homepage of the mobile theme is restricted to a “Featured” block at the top and recent posts on the bottom. Our site has repurposed the “Featured” category so for us, it doesn’t make sense to put these at the top of the page.
We’d really like to use the Mobile Theme for the obvious speed benefits but we will wait until more customization options are available for the homepage. Are there plans to offer this in future versions?
