Hi,

CSS minification could create problems. You could try to minify it manually
https://cssminifier.com/
Or try as suggested here, some users seem to mention total cache minification creates problems with the theme
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/

Thanks

Hello georgelaskos,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/

Hello @tmaghrebt

It’s showing server response time of 2.6 seconds. Try to fix it. You can also try:

    Adding proper Expiry headers.
    Reducing the number of requests per page.

Also, I can see you are using Autoptimize plugin on your site to minify the scripts. If you found it helpful use it but make sure you disable minification at CloudFlare’s end.

Hope this will help you.

You are absolutely right, google seems to randomly detect it or not. I’m currently at 95 points on desktop an no blocking CSS. The only thing standing between me and the 100 is Minify CSS. It tells me the style.css of the theme and my child theme can be reduced by 16% and 91%. Any thoughts on what to do here? I suppose it’s not that critical but at this point I just want to see if I can hit the 100 haha.

Am not using any minification. I only observed that the auto minification of the theme also minified the javascript code for adsens and mgid codes on the website, and the minify javascript codes of adsense brings very income. Thus how do I exclude adsense and mgid from being minified. If you have a look at the website https://eteje.com you can better advice me. The minified javascript of mgid in the header do no allow proper display of the ads, while the income from adsense is terrible low, quite unlike what I used to have

How do I exclude the adsense code and MGID code from Java script minify. I learnt that minify of adsense javascript code greatly affects income thus I want to remove both codes from being minify.

Check if the Speed Booster is enabled in System Status. It can be disabled if you are using some untested plugins which are not tested with it. Otherwise, please check the following topic from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/security-and-backup-always-incompatible-with-speed-booster/

Hi,

The CSS does not seem to be minified from what I can see at the moment. You can minify CSS using an online tool or a plugin. Then make tests again.
Check for online tutorials in the matter, there are many
https://technumero.com/minify-javascript-and-css/
Note that CSS minification can cause problems. Keep testing to spot eventual issues.

Thanks

In my case last time, it’s due to the Javascript optimisations (so if you minify your Javascript, or install a plugin to optimise your Javascript files etc). If you want to, exclude Newsmag Javascript file from being optimised/minified: themes/Newsmag/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js

Or if you have a Cloudflare, try turning off Rocket Loader

Also worth trying to disable Lazy Load from the Theme Panel to see if it works

Hi Catalin,

All the plugins I send to the list below are up to date.
There is a folder named “Newspaper” running on 8.6 version of the server. The newly updated theme is in the same location under the folder named “Newspaper 8.7”. This morning I cleaned all the cashes and experimented by changing the names of the folders mentioned above (“Newspaper” to “Newspaper 8.6” and “Newspaper 8.7” to “Newspaper”). And then my site crashed. I had to get back everything I did.

The above scenario did not work even if I brought all the plugins into a passive state.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
I run a test on my client’s website and I got a notification that I should minify redirects:

Remove the following redirect chain if possible:

http://marketpost.gr/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/marketpostgr-market-data-logo.png
https://marketpost.gr/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/marketpostgr-market-data-logo.png

I fixed one of them and I get another notification:
The following requests are returning 404/410 responses. Either fix the broken links, or remove the references to the non-existent resources.

http://marketpost.gr/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/footer_bg.jpg

Yes, the notification is right since in the code view I found that:
.td-footer-wrapper::before {
background-image: url(‘https://marketpost.gr/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/marketpost-footer-bg.jpg’);
}
td-menu-background,
.td-search-background {
background-image: url(‘http://marketpost.gr/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/footer_bg.jpg’);
}

.white-popup-block:before {
background-image: url(‘http://marketpost.gr/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/footer_bg.jpg’);
}

So, the theme uses HTTPS and HTTP for that same files in CSS.
Since I re-uploaded the footer background image, the HTTP verison is gone but CSS code is calling it.
How can I fix that?

I don’t know why but this problem is also on my demo site, not only on my production site. This happen even with CDN (CloudFlare: Cache+Minify), Cache and all external plugins deactivated and exclusively on the Twitch icon. I’ve also cleared the custom mobile CSS and re-installed the tadDiv mobile plugin.

Anyway, what about the rich snippet problem?

Hello,

Sorry but our theme does not have any setting to increase the parallax effect intensity.
The parallax effect is created using js: https://www.screencast.com/t/xtooSgnJD
Our theme uses the minified version of the js so any change to the js will involve minifying the main js file and replacing the min js file

Thank you!

Hello,

There is also the js to consider. Not only the css works with breakpoints. Our theme also has js loaded elements. If you alter the js, there is another step to be taken as the theme uses the min js version so any change to the js will require you to minify the js file after the change and replace the tagdiv min js code with the new modified version and minifed of course.

Thank you!

Bogdan B.

The smart sidebar usually breaks if the js encounters errors. Most likely you have a js error and multiple js elements broke on your site, not just the sidebar. You can see the error in the browser console: https://www.screencast.com/t/7bwYhJIIu
Please disable rocket loader and do not minify the js as it is already minifed in our theme. The theme uses the minified version by default.

Thank you!

@Simion do you mind checking my site for the speed as well?
I am trying caching, image optmiziation, minifying css, javascripts, etc. but when a user loads the site it takes at least 30 second for it to load.

Thanks

Hello honny singh,

I have inspected your tagdiv_theme.min.js and you did not add correctly, sorry! https://www.screencast.com/t/UGhupyAsqc8O -> There is not the right method to simply add the code at the bottom of the tagdiv_theme.min.js The modification should have to be done in the tagdiv_theme.js and then, that code you will have to minified and then replace it with the tagdiv_theme.min.js. To minify your js you should use an online tool, like this -> https://www.minifier.org/
