I’m the admin of reloaded.info who has a purchased license of the TagDiv Newspaper 12 theme.
I have a problem that I can’t solve:
In the desktop version, the registration form also contains the possibility of choosing a personal password as well as username and email.
In the mobile version instead, there is only the choice of username and email and the password is sent by email, or rather, the link to choose the password is sent by email.
How can I enter the password choice in the mobile version?
Thank you

Mobile theme plugin does not supports it. You will need to code it or hire a coder.

ICaBetterWay – Documents

So, I tried to use the “tabbed content” from the composer, but honestly its a terrible design. The how to is also terrible and doesn’t actually tell how to. I was able to get a box, with a red button labeled “tabbed content”, but that was it. Then I read that only 5 tabs can be made? I couldn’t even make 1 tab show up no matter what I did, but only 5 is not good.

So I tried to just create my own. I had great success on this but the tabs are not existent on mobile, ios specifically, haven’t tried android. I have looked and looked and looked and all the information I keep seeing about tabs not working is about theme conflicts, but when I disabled all plugins, it still didn’t show up. I then went 1 at a time activating, and the tabs still don’t show up.

I don’t understand, why is this so hard? I am fairly familiar with front end and back end development, no expert of course but do I really have to go into the files and do this myself or am I missing something obvious?

Just want to be clear though, I am very happy with this Newspaper theme, but what I need it for, I cannot accomplish without tabbed/accordian type navigation on same page. Document preservation type of thing.

Hi, I released my Page speed guide for the Newspaper theme back in 2017. This is the 2023 version for the same.

My Website: https://medicforyou.in

Current Stats:

1. Pagespeed Mobile
2. Pagespeed Desktop
3. GTMetrix
4. Pingdom

Resources used:

Plugins
1. Ad Inserter
2. Akismet
3. Contact Form 7
4. Converter for Media
5. Formidable Forms
6. Formidable Forms Pro (Paid)
7. Inline Related Posts
8. Jetpack
9. LuckyWP Table of Contents
10. RankMath (free version)
11. Regenerate Thumbnails
12. tagDIV Cloud Library
13. tagDIV Composer
14. tagDIV Mobile Theme
15. tagDIV Social Counter
16. Wordfence Security
17. WP Rocket
18. wpDiscuz

CDN– Only Cloudfare Free with tweaks and rules

Hosting– GoDaddy (sucks but will switch later)

Plugin Based Tweaks Worth Mentioning

1. Ad Inserter
Newspaper mobile does not provide extended in-article ads. This is why I switched to Ad-inserter to apply rules to mobile and desktop versions. Works like a charm.

4. Converter for Media
Free webP conversion recommended by Google. Lightweight and also converts your previously uploaded files to webP as well.

6. Formidable Forms Pro- Paid
I bought this to have a quiz and calculator. To be honest, I spent more than 30 hours but still could not learn the conditional tags and essential formatting. Regardless, this is broken on the mobile theme plugin and has a drastic speed impact on the page. Definitely not recommended.

8. Jetpack
I am still to figure out what is the role of Jetpack in SEO and speed. Anyways, I have kept it to not destroy my existing SEO.

11. Regenerate thumbnails
I would recommend regenerating all thumbnails at a time when your visitors are not active on the website. It has some memory usage and should be done in a free environment.

MOST IMPORTANT
I browsed through forums to find that TD Standard Pack is not an essential plugin if you know how to develop your theme properly using TD Composer.

I was already using pre-installed templates. So, I simply deactivated the plugin to check if any pages were broken. Since there were none, I deleted the plugin.

It has huge speed impact and I definitely recommend creating your own templates rather than relying on the easy way out. Additionally, I would recommend you start with a pre-built website, and start editing the following Cloud Templates:

  • Header
  • Footer
  • Remaining WordPress templates (except attachment unless you use it)
  • 14. tagDIV Mobile Theme
If you have to choose performance over quality, I’d recommend quickly installing this plugin. It is tempting to give your users a wonderful experience, but at what cost? Reduced speed only drops your visitors from search engines. Most of us are bloggers, meaning we rely on Google and Bing for our visitors (in long term). I’d recommend using it without caring for those beautiful blocks or glittering images.

    16. Wordfence Security
If you are on a shared hosting like me and using Wordfence, I would suggest you enable performance tweaks.

  • Wordfence> All Options> Scan Options> Performance Options> Use low resource scanning (reduces server load by lengthening the scan duration)
  • 17. WP Rocket
I used AutoOptimize and various other plugins to speedily my website. I did achieve results, but the “remove unused CSS” is beyond my scope. It requires hours of finding the CSS and deleting them. Even if you understand what I am saying, you are still bound to make mistakes.

I switched to WP Rocket a few months back. It cost me 59 USD for a year. What did I get? Here are tweaks that I was not able to achieve previously (the rest all can be achieved with free plugins):

  • Reduced Unused CSS– WP Rocket API is involved in the procedure to find and deliver only the necessary CSS for each page.
  • Enable Caching for Mobile- Wonderful if you are using Mobile Theme Plugin
  • It also does some other minor tweaks like Heartbeat, Minimify and async load CSS and Java scripts. However, these features are still achievable with other free plugins
  • 18. WpDiscuz
The CSS files are annoying and I believe minifying CSS and loading
wpDiscuz> Settings> General Settings> Enable Use WordPress native AJAX functions and Minify JS and CSS Files to Optimize Page Loading Speed.

If you have not installed it yet, I highly recommend you don’t get lured by it. Stick to traditional Comments from WordPress itself. They won’t cost you any speed damage.

    Cloudfare Optimizations
I would not go much into detail about this. But I will summarize what I have done:
    1. Optimization Tab- Tick marked all options except AMP URL and Rocket Loader (only if you are using WP Rocket because it will break your search button and menu on mobile with a Newspaper theme).
    2. Caching- Tickmarked all except Always Online and Development mode.
    3. Rules- I have set two rules which make Cloudfare cache all contents on my website except my admin panel. You can set them using the following image, make sure you replace your website name with www or without www (and no HTTP or HTTPS) and in THE ORDER THEY ARE (ByPass at 1st, Cache everything at 2nd).
Image: Cloudfare All Cache Page Rule
    4. Scrape Shield- Tick marked all of the available features (3 in total).

Currently, my concerns revolve around the following:

  • 1. High DOM size (I clean installed the theme to face the same issue)
  • 2. Jetpack CSS- Not really sure if this is necessary or not.
  • 3. Contact Form 7
  • GZip compression (reported on Pingdom but there are already Gzip rules existing on .htaccess. I don’t want to break them by adding new rules my hosting provides.
  • I hope this guide helps you all. Please leave any feedback or queries. Best of luck fellas.

    Hello,

    1. If you using the Flex Block or Big Grid Flex in the layout are the options “Show author”, “Show date” and you can choose to hide => https://www.screencast.com/t/6UPXQbiTO2
For mobile theme version to remove the author name on the blocks, please go in Theme Panel -> Block Settings -> Meta Info on modules/blocks and disable the author => https://www.screencast.com/t/5w5CxkcU
    2. You can’t change the layout and customize the mobile theme version. There are some settings in the Theme panel -> Mobile Theme and Dashboard -> AMP only.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Usually, this happens with cache plugins. If the cache plugin does not have mobile support, then the mobile theme version can be delivered instead.
The solution would be to use the recommended WP Super Cache plugin instead and activate these settings (especially the mobile device support): https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

    Thank you!

    Hi ezioboy,
I just checked those problems and I see that you are using the Pay For Post plugin and other plugins that normally are not tested with our theme. We have tested only the WooCommerce plugin – https://i.imgur.com/Pi30ibp.png
Now, we try our best to help even if the problem is with an untested plugin, but this may not be as simple as with a tested plugin or a setting from our theme. Many times there are also conflicts between the theme and these plugins, where custom work is needed.
I manage to do some improvements, no on mobile will be like this – https://i.imgur.com/gthjslF.png, and on desktop like this – https://i.imgur.com/2LYEt6i.png
I hope this will help you! Let us know the results!

The speed of the news paper theme site is fine on PC, but the speed on mobile is not too serious.

First page load takes 5-6 seconds. Also, isn’t it wrong that the PC has no problem but the problem only occurs on mobile? This is a completely different result from the news paper advertisement.

After installing the cache plugin recommended by Newspaper ① WP Super Cache, ② EWWW Image Optimizer plugin, we applied the same method that Newspaper recommended setting.

But the problem is not getting better.

    My site address is duweek.com

The page setup issue has nothing to do with Newspaper, even if you get support from WooCommerce, please help solve the form issue.

This is a problem that has never been a problem with other themes. Isn’t it the theme’s problem that the CSS code is applied on PC but not on mobile?

    https://ibb.co/fYrhMRw
① I want to put the set amount into the box.
② Set the box width to width 100; I put it in, but the PC is normally applied, and the mobile is not applied.

I provided the admin information, but do you only give advice and do not solve the problem? It’s been a month since we’ve had conversations about this issue.

Hello! I’m using the NewsPayer theme 11.5.1. Suddenly, the mobile main page does not scroll. All other pages work normally, but only the main page does not scroll. The homepage is http://gnpnews.org/. I ask for your help.

    Hello @ghoangit!

Please let me know which mobile version do you use.
We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:

    1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

    2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

    3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY

If you need to use the mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Unfortunately, I do not exactly understand what you mean or your request. Please provide more details about your encountered problem, you can include screenshots.
A solution for sending a screenshot is this:
    Download, capture, send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
Using our theme you can choose from 3 mobile versions
    -> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
    -> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
    -> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
Suppose you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer. In that case, when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
So, the mobile responsive is what you see then that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin not.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activate and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activate.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.

    Thank you!

FYI – Hi, i’ve done a series of tests by building a separate website and submitting it to Google News. Just using your mobile theme, it all appears fine in Google News app on iOS and Android, however, it’s when i install the official AMP PLUGIN (that you recommend), that causes a white page to appear in Google News, so the issue is def between your mobile plugin and the Google News app.

    Hello,

    1. You need to deactivate the mobile theme plugin and use the responsive desktop version to have those for mobile. The mobile theme cannot edit and set the mega menu or other custom options.
    2. You can set the meta description for the category; this can be displayed on the category using the element Category Description -> https://i.imgur.com/dY8Uas5.png the description needs to be set for each category -> https://i.imgur.com/qLjhnQ9.png -> https://yoast.com/taxonomy-seo-categories-tags/

    Hello,

The mobile theme comes with its own templates/design for pages, posts, categories, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/3
The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.
This can be found here: https://www.screencast.com/t/N18dR3qZrh -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/

    Hi,

I have two questions to begin with. These rose when my semrush started to show few categories ranking top 3 on google. Any clarification will be highly appreciated.

    1. How can I edit categories with an approach to adding sub-categories within the category page?

For example- Subjects show a drop-down for Medicine, Surgery, etc. This appears delicious yet difficult to achieve with mobile theme plugin.

    2. Is it a good idea to add structures on category page such as content, meta description and other seo optimisations I would normally do for a blog post?

    My blog- https://medicforyou.in

Additional tools I use- Formidable forms (tried but the plugin shows conditionally hidden fields on mobile theme page).

    Thanks
    Dr. Varun
