Mobile theme – I have 2 issues:
1. Articles repeated twice in the homepage – though I have enabled the unique article in the homepage setup
2. I wanted to hide specific posts from a specific category from anywhere on the website and of course the mobile theme. I wish to achieve it in every page and every post.
I already tried every possible setting in the Mobile theme panel as well as the main theme panel but nothing seems to be working.
Here is the image that shows the 2 issues: https://imgur.com/a/ZRMhw6w
Really need your assistance here on how to make it happen.
Thanks.
HI! I have a problem whith the theme… i put 2 screenshot about how it appear the same page
Why on mobile don’t appear all?
http://www.actual.ph
Hi, first sign something was wrong was the entire site including WordPress toolbar displaying in Italics.
Website is https://capsulenz.com/
I noticed an update needed for Newspaper theme in 10.3.5 and completed that. tagdiv composer plugin did not complete and showed as an ajax error. As per recommendation I then loaded the plugin manually.
The site layout settings I slaved over appear to be gone!
-The site logos are all gone
-The colour and font settings have all reverted back to ‘default’ from what I had them set to
-All the fonts were in italics
-Blocks that did fit four articles in a row are now pushing one article over to form a new line
In addition:
– Megamenu display has different fonts and colours, it used to look like this https://gyazo.com/a2c6b1b7f7664e257a61a7c2a42f4959
Notice the THINK BE DO COVET text all the same
it now looks like this, random fonts and colours and it does not sit correctly on the page https://gyazo.com/a1261e0470988d2db05a4a16e1309a0c
-Mobile mega menu has no dropdowns showing when you click on a parent
This is just the issues I’ve found so far ….
What is the best next step for me now. Do I roll back to a backup and hope the update doesn’t break the site again?
Most importantly, how do I avoid my site completely breaking again at future updates.
Thank you
Hi,
Please provide me a link where I can inspect this problem.
The Sticky Menu in mobile theme is set using minify jQuery to add inline css to some elements -> https://i.imgur.com/znS6pRA.png unfortunatly this is quite hard to find the right place where the changes need to be done, also these will be lost when you’ll make a theme update.
Thank you!
Hi,
Using mobile theme, you’ll use a different layout for mobile device, please check our documentation for mobile theme plugin from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Unfortunately I can not inspect your website because it encounters some server errors -> https://i.imgur.com/Utr1v5z.png let me know when this is working.
Thank you for your understanding!
I placed a custom ad just underneath my header menu on LagosTimes.com and set various sizes for desktop, tablet, portrait. etc. All views work except for the responsible mobile theme horizontal view which does not show the advert. See. http://www.lagostimes.com
I have set ad spots on my main page. Some custom Ads and Some Article/Sidebar and etc.
All of my customs ads are working (I have named them so it will be easy to detect).
Article Ads are not working at all.
Since I’m using media.net Ad Network Ads (and not AdSense Ads) I have wrapped some with tagDiv wrapper and some without just to QA the theme but non of them are working.
Just as a reference, please note: on mobile-theme everything is working perfectly as expected.
Can you please take a look in this link and try to spot the issue? link to the post: https://star-7dz.com/10-ways-to-summer-proof-your-skin/
Thanks.
Hi KC,
Unfortunately for mobile theme there is no option to disable the snap menu, sorry! this can be achieve only for responsive version.
What you can do for mobile theme is to use a custom css like this one :
.td-header-wrap {
position: unset!important;
}
The code need to be set in theme panel> mobile theme> custom code> css
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
Hi,
Tanks for your fast response
Actually i’m not using the mobile plugin, but i’ve put the custom CSS code form the Custom Code theme panel and now its fine
Thanks,
All the best
Hello, team tagDiv.
First of all, you added the functionality to disable live search on mobile & amp. Great. But it should only disable populating results in real-time and everything else should be working like before (the search slide should work the same way with animation).
Second, the search feature doesn’t work as it should be. When the icon is clicked, reloading starts, and the search page opens with every single article, every single page on the website popping up on users’ faces. When did the search start working this way? It should be freaking blank with nothing but search bar and just that, there shouldn’t be any articles and pages. You guys should’ve kept it as it was and just have provided the feature to disable live search on search slide. This search, of now, is ugly.
Third, I kept the live search enabled because I want the animation but not the live search. So I tried to disable it from the ajax_mob.php as I did previously. It doesn’t work anymore. The problem I am facing now after commenting the code is that the search in amp doesn’t work. When I type in the search bar and click go on the keyboard, nothing happens.
So please, tell me a way to keep the same search slide with animation and only disable the live search. Also, even after the removal or commenting of the code, typing in the search bar still sends POST requests to the server but doesn’t just show the results on the screen. How can I stop these requests as well?
So here is what I am looking to achieve:-
Please tell me what code to comment in which file to do what. The new search is the worst feature that I’ve ever seen in a theme update.
Update means progress not regress.
P.S.- All the above points and disappointments are targeted at the developers and designers and they have nothing to do with the support staff.
Thanks. I guess I’ll make up some custom category pages rather than use the auto-generated ones.
Next… I think this is an Adsense question, not one relating to the theme, but just in case….
My home page has 4 ad spots
Header
Sidebar
Custom (in between blocks)
Footer (turned off for desktop)
But ads are only showing in two of them. Even on mobile.
The custom block DOES show an ad if I leave it on AUTO, but the ad comes out square on desktop. NO idea why. If I specify a horizontal banner size, it comes up blank.
I’ll turn on the footer again on desktop, so all 4 are active. Can you look at BangkokHerald.com? The custom ad spot is above the bottom block (Pattaya & Phuket). On my screen, it’s blank.
Perhaps Adsense thinks I have too many blocks? I thought 3 were permissable but your theme has 4, so….
Hi purart,
Unfortunately for the moment only these two style are available on mobile theme on smartlist, for the moment what you can do is to use the responsive version -> https://i.imgur.com/YfpfKiJ.png
Thank you!
Hi,
If you are using mobile theme plugin, then you’ll need to go in theme panel> mobile theme> theme fonts -> https://i.imgur.com/qpSkp9g.png and make there the changes.
If you are using the responsive version some PRO demo is possible to be set a custom font on cloud template, this can be change with tagDiv Composer by clicking on elements and check the style tab -> https://i.imgur.com/gnNSdVU.png -> https://i.imgur.com/zGf5Fs1.png
If there is still a problem, let us know, also provide some more details and a link.
Thank you!
Hi,
As I know our developers have some plans to make the mobile theme better and more customize, unfortunately I do not know what options will include.
Thank you!
Hi,
Using the mobile theme plugin you’ll use a different theme for mobile version, mobile theme is faster then responsive version, but is more simple, in order to make the mixed caption you can use this custom css -> https://i.imgur.com/zISkUNH.png
figcaption a, .wp-caption-text a{
color: #399998;
}
The code need to be set in mobile theme!
Yes, for gossip you need to use an extra class, please try this custom css:
figcaption, .wp-caption-text, .tdb-caption-text {
color: black;
margin: -48px 0 0 20px!important;
padding: 8px 16px;
background: #ffffffcf;
position: absolute;
text-align: center;
}
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
Hi, I’ve disabled the sticky header menu in Theme Panel, desktop is OK, but in mobile theme view the header menu is still there when scrolling up. Please advise how to completely disable that for mobile theme.
Thanks.
Hi,
Yes, by default the button for back to to is hidden on mobile device, but you can display it using this custom css:
.td-scroll-up {
display: block;
}
The code need to be set in theme panel> custom code> adventure css> phone.
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
Hi,
If you are using the mobile theme plugin, then you can use only smart list 1 or 2 -> https://i.imgur.com/VWVolVa.png or you can use the responsive version on some posts -> https://i.imgur.com/gwb16PT.png -> https://i.imgur.com/xRtEGdX.png
Hope this will help you!
If you are using Official AMP Plugin and Newspaper Mobile Theme, Go to Theme panel -> Mobile Theme -> AMP Ads -> paste the second code in “ADSENSE AUTO ADS FOR AMP” field.
No need to add the first code as it activates automatically.
1. Use ‘WPS Hide Login’ Plugin or WordPress.com Secure Sign On (Jetpack Plugin)
2. You can disable this in td-composer while designing the cloud templates (Click on any Block in td-composer -> Filters -> AJAX CATEGORIES DROPDOWN – Filter type -> No drop down ajax).
3. You can disable this in td-composer while designing the cloud templates (Click on any Block in td-composer -> Filters -> AJAX CATEGORIES DROPDOWN -> No Preloading
4. https://forum.tagdiv.com/ajax-view-count/
If you are using the latest version of Newspaper v10.3.5 and Mobile Plugin, Go to Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme -> Header -> Disable Live Search.
Hello Calin,
The links you sent really don’t help, I am familiar with google caching, however, I don’t understand why the cached DESKTOP version of my website is showing the mobile version in the google cache.
I think this is a problem with the mobile theme, sometimes when I load my website from my desktop it will show the mobile theme until a refresh it.
Please can you look into this and let me know your thoughts on why google is caching the mobile theme, and not the desktop one.
Thanks & Regards,
Dan
I have two issues here with this:
1. In the mobile theme, the smartlist toggle button has no impact on the page whatsoever (though it is set to use mobile theme for my post)
2. When you have Next button, the URL changes from: domain.com/<post_name>/ to: domain.com/<post_name>/1 and domain.com/<post_name>/2 and domain.com/<post_name>/3 etc.
While when using scroll down smartlist, the URL doesn’t change at all. Can this be correct/fix somehow?
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
First of all I would like to give compliments to you and your Newspaper Theme. It works now after a long time of working in, very well. Its very complex but Tag Div Composer is a good software.
Now I need special help: I come with two questions to you.
I try since two weeks now to bring to work the sidebars.
My website is: http://www.peter-jurgilewitsch.de
I want to see the sidebar in posts and may be in some pages to use some widgets there on the side.
I tried what I could. If you call one of my posts you see that I switched on the sidebar function but the space is empty on the right side.
I studied many times your tutorials, but to be honest I did not understand how I cen bring to work this. The tutorial videos are so quick and short, like comercial, so nobody shows you slow and exactly how to bring for example a widget in the sidebar. I know thats something for children may be for you, but I did not come to sucsess.
The second thing is, that I prepard the whole side for al devices full responsive. This work with tagdiv composer very good. Bur: In the standard posts, if you see one of may articles on a mobile the margins are not correct. There is no chance to correct this. How can I correct this?
May be you need access to my backend for helping me with this tecnical issues? Then please give me a notice to send you the username and password.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards from Germany
Peter Jurgilewitsch
Also, for some reason, the code isn’t working for Gossip Pro Template.
I guess because it is using figcaption or something… can you give me the code for it and for its mobile theme version as well please.
Thanks.
Many thanks. What about mobile. As I’m using the Mobile theme, what is the best practice to use the smartlist 1/2/3/4/5/6 on the mobile theme (for mobile users)
