@Amit Thanks for your help, but the problem is that the theme is using an old JQuery:

ofenkartoffel-raeucherlachs-dillsauce:4387 Uncaught ReferenceError: tdbMenu is not defined
at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (ofenkartoffel-raeucherlachs-dillsauce:4387)
at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
at Function.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
at HTMLDocument.J (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)

I have now added this code to the function.php (desktop/mobile):

//Modern Jquery

add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'nwd_modern_jquery');

function nwd_modern_jquery() {
global $wp_scripts;
if(is_admin()) return;
$wp_scripts->registered['jquery-core']->src = 'https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.5.1.min.js';
$wp_scripts->registered['jquery']->deps = ['jquery-core'];
}

and now it works. Unfortunately sometimes there is a little delay. But I’m afraid to download the new jquery directly into the theme like written here:

https://nimblewebdeveloper.com/blog/use-modern-jquery-in-wordpress

Or would that be better?

Hello!

I checked your images from your website and it seems they have different sizes. Some of them are much higher than wider, that’s why they are displaying like that. On mobile devices the images are being stretched from the left to the right of the screen and the height increases just as much to keep the aspect ratio.
What you can do is to try to upload images with the same sizes on your website.

Thank you!

@Topfgartenwelt
I follow this thread as there is always something to learn about optimizing the theme for speed, just to let you know, when I open your website on my mobile phone (android) neither the menu or search option function.

Hi,
If you ware using the mobile theme plugin, then you can not set different ads using only the theme, you need to use some extra plugins for ads, also you can not edit the category page design, this can be done only on responsive version of a pro demos/pre-build website or using the mobile page.
Thank you!

Hello!

I checked your website and everything seems to work fine. Also, you can not edit a homepage with Mobile Theme plugin.
If you will create the mobile pages with TagDiv Composer, then when you install Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin.
The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with it’s own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Thank you!

Hi, the Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) is a element from pages speed, what you can improve it is to optimize the website, for the moment we do not have a guide that can reduce these elements, but for the moment we know that using sticky sidebar and menu will increase the LCP and CLS, if you remove these you’ll improve the pages speed. Also there can be some extra plugins or code that can provide this problem.
Please check the answer from those topics:
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/to-high-cumulative-layout-shift-in-mobile-theme/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/remove-cls-cumulative-layout-shift-from-html-element/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/to-high-cumulative-layout-shift-in-mobile-theme/
Those are solutions that we tried to provide for Newspaper, it should work for Newsmag too.
If you want to delete the code for login it can be done only from theme files.
Thank you!

Dear tag.div Team, my H1 on mobile is marked as Largest Contentful Paint. The H1 is linked to three CSS-files, one of them is 4036233c-1607636887.css. The H1 is on the top of the document, it’s always the title of my posts, and so everything else has to wait until this 3 files are loaded. This is causing a really high LCP. Can you provide some help here?

Dear Calin, I’m using the mobile plugin and not the responsive version of the theme. I don’t want to change that at all. I want to have a solution that the featured image is provided in an appropriate size also for the mobile theme…

Hi,

Please do check the desktop and mobile version of this link
https://kacyworld.com/eye-kajal/

You will see the images in the post are showing wider than the screen whereas they are showing pretty normal in the desktop version as well as on the back end.

I’d like to make the mobile header a bit bigger to be able to add a logo also a little bigger.

In the past (years ago) you helped me with a code that I pasted in the theme.

Could you help me again?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Topfgartenwelt, if you want, you can use a single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library, edit it with tagDiv Composer, and set the featured image size that you want on responsive version -> https://i.imgur.com/tnA3MAu.png this can be done for each view port.
Also you can use the mobile page and create mobile post templates -> https://i.imgur.com/Pn7UN8g.png
Unfortunately for the moment this option is not available on mobile theme.
Thank you!

Hi,
What I mean about composited animations is that the elements that are reported on lighthouse are displaying on mobile and are working then you do not have to do anything, the problem appear when the elements do not appear or are not working.
Also we hope that the next theme update to have lest elements that will impact the CLS.
Thank you for your understating!

Hello!

If you created the mobile page and you don’t have installed Mobile Theme, then you can edit the mobile page with TagDiv Composer which you created and do this setting for header and footer also: https://www.screencast.com/t/goMb4J8nrr
Hope that helps you!

Thank you!

Hi josp, normally there should be no problems using the mobile page, I will make some deep investigations and send a note to our developers with the results.
Thank you for your understating!

Hello!

If you created the mobile pages with TagDiv Composer in your own style, then when you install Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin.
The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with it’s own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Better deactivate the plugin and see the results.

Hello,

since the new update, we have a problem with the mobile menu because the hamburger is basically dead (when i click on it nothing happens, which is a major problem for mobile users).

+ We have a plugin “Popup builder” that shows special offers to readers of the newspaper and they aren’t showing although the popup is set up correctly and worked perfectly fine before the update.

Website is: http://sloveniatimes.com

Any help ASAP would really be appreciated!

Thanks

Hello !

The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme.

You will have to recreate your pages into the Mobile editor or completely disable the mobile theme. The mobile editor will not render shortcodes !

Also you can disable mobile theme on certain pages or posts by following this setting:

Please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Mobile theme plugin can be disabled from Newspaper Plugins as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/LnkZCEVC

You are now able to create mobile viewport templates as you can see in our guide here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/

! Atention ! If you are using mobile templates you will have to remove the mobile theme plugin and also at the moment AMP is not working with mobile templates.

Please note that at the moment the Support team is not 24/7 available. We answer the topics from Latest to Newest Monday – Friday from 08:00AM to 05:00PM GMT+2

Thank you !
