Hello,
Well the error seems to be WP error, not a theme related error. Please disable all plugins as this could be plugin related. If you cannot access your back-end you can make the following steps:
a) rename /wp-content/plugins — to xplugins
b) delete all theme folders except for the stock twenty-sixteen
c) then login
d) then go to appaarance > themes, and change theme to twenty-sixteen
e) rename plugins folder back
f) only activate necessary plugins
g) install theme and plugins fresh, via FTP
once theme working
a) resave permalinks
b) use wp-optimize plugin to optimize your WP dbase
Thank you!
And you can use Better WordPress Minify and Autoptimize who make (i think) the same thing and are compatible with many other plugin or you can easily deactivate those not compatible inside this plugin.
Q – Check their support forums for tips on getting plugins to work with each other when there might be some oddball conflict.
A – Well I’m just going to get bounced around like that. Both plugins are standard in the theme and I doubt they would be there if there was a conflict so more relevant to get assistance here.
Q – i also find clearing cache, resaving permalinks, and clearing transients with wp-optimize helps
A – Yep, done that
Q – oh, and not using child themes!
A – Why? I did think of that and the problem exists whether main theme is activated or child is.
Q – Also note some stuff does not seem to work very well in multi-user setups, which is fault of the plugins most often.
A – Once again, both plugins are part and parcel of the theme. If it was a non-related plugin, I would be talking to the plugin creator first or simply delete it.
Thanks for taking the time to make some suggestions, but I’m no closer to having the problem resolved.
Have you checked with the two plugin companies to see about conflicts ?

Can someone please help me.
I got this email from Adsense and I to be honest do not get what the problem is.
I have only inserted the code in where it shows on the template.
And then I have this problem.
I deleted the page they specified, but I do not think this is the problem.
They have already demonetized half of my site.
Please help ASAP.
THANKS.

Hey kfx!
I finally came into a solution for this issue by my self, regarding the logo resolution problem. Catalin simply did not provide the expected quality support (not a great theme support experience for me so far), so I’ll post it here step by step in case you can use it:
1. First of all, produce (via Illustrator or Photoshop) a high quality resolution PNG image of your logo. Try not to exceed a width of 1400px. Make sure it looks really sharp. Consider leaving a transparent background if needed.
2. Optimize it by uploading/downloading it to/from Optimzilla. This is to ensure your image achieves the minimum file size possible, while keeping its quality.
3. Upload it to your WordPress Media Library.
4. Change your logo image in the Theme Panel settings Theme Panel> Header> Logo & Favicon (be sure to load the proper image in both “Logo Upload” and “Retina Logo Upload” fields).
5. Go to Pages> Home, and open the Visual Editor for your homepage. Once in the Visual Editor, add this code into the Custom CSS option at the top right portion of the editor:
.td-logo {
display: inline-block;
width: 55%;
}
See http://www.screencast.com/t/zBtkB7Acv, if needed. You can always adjust the width property to your desired size.
6. Click “Save Changes”, and finally “Update” your page. When done, you should see a really sharp logo image in your header, like the one displayed in my site.
Hope it works!
Cheers,
Fidel

Hello,
I am very interested in activating this plugin, however, I read previous post that it might need some advanced development which is out of my league. Could you please referred me to someone who can do install the plugin to optimize the page?
Hello robbie,
For more information about our child theme support, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
The Speed Booster is an optional plugin and it works only with the tested plugins. If you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled and I suggest to check this first in System Status. However there is a workaround to make it work also with other plugins, you can read more here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-not-compatible-with-vaultpress/
Unfortunately, the time doesn’t allow us tot provide any custom and/or optimization services. We provide support only for the theme related issues based on Envato support policy – https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy I suggest to get someone to help you if you want to optimize your site.
Thanks for the message!

Please notice that this is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services is not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements.
Please keep in mind that at the moment, we cannot provide optimization services because this task involve time-consuming and we do not afford to do this, sorry! We only can provide support for basic theme settings.
If you are not aware of these steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

Hello Agiro,
I have checked your website and I notice that you have not optimized your site properly. For example, I saw that you are using large images as capacity and that’s why you receive bad reports in your page speed loading, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/oItnwP6U2 Please try to read our documentation regarding on How to make your website faster, understand each step from there and then, trying to apply the steps from there, because I do not give in vain the above tutorial. After some tests with Pingdom tool you can see these results, like this ->

Thanks for your understanding and good luck into your project!

Hello guys,
I actually don’t have any serious problem that I want to resolve so this is some kind of advice request.
I have installed cache plugin and I have set everything like you explained in documentation. I optimize every single image before upload and I don’t have much heavy plugins installed. However, I am not happy with the current site speed and results from analytics websites. On each one, I get warning that I should Leverage browser caching.
Any advices?
Speed booster plugin?
Install it or not? I know that it might cause problems with other plugins but is it really worth to install it?

Looks like one of your plugins might be loading jquery twice .. no reason for two different versions to be called for the theme. Try disabling some plugins. Looks like some kind of caching is adding query strings to the different versions perhaps cookies, logins, or ajax stuff.
Might try simple option
a) resave permalinks
b) clear transients with wp-optimize
Hi,
The theme has some server requirements and php.ini recommended values – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also I suggest(like @Niresh above) to follow the pagespeed guide and optimize your site – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks!
Hi Chris,
I did as you suggested, used the wp-optimize plugin with the transients option ticked, I also resaved the permalinks, still no luck.
I noticed in the Theme Status tab the WP Memory Limit is 40MB/request instead of the recommended 64MB do you think that might have an effect on the load time of the backend?
Thanks
EDIT: I just followed this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and changed the limit, it’s now 64MB and it’s made no difference…

Yes I am using Jetpack and Photon, but I am using the “Publicize” plugin from Jetpack, so I need it. I could possibly do away with Photon though since I am using WP Smush to optimize photos, do you think just disabling Photon and the problem is fixed 100%? I will try it and report back.
Also:
I find that
a) resaving permalinks
b) clearing transients with wp-optimize
both do wonders after any major theme and plugin updates.
Clears old “internal cached elements” to let new stuff breathe.
@GadgetViper, disabling and enabling the theme does not affect stored information. It does however affect the presentation of that information. So, when you disable the theme, you will see a strange looking website (same if you disable Visual Composer), but your layout is saved behind the scenes, in the DB. Once you re-activate the Newspaper theme, all items will show up as normal.
When you do this, ensure that your caching/optimizing plugins like WP Supercache, Autoptimize, etc… are also flushed.
Hi,
There is a guide to optimize your site, please follow it and also use a cache plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Please notice that the CSS working in cascade (Cascading Style Sheet) and the first time take the default code and then your custom css is loaded(also the theme pane settings are custom) and because of this will appear that delay in loading. Usually this delay is more visible when you use Speed Booster plugin which moves the resources to the footer, but fully optimizing your site, this should not be visible. And alternative would be to add your custom colors, fonts directly to your stylesheet file.
Thanks!
OK so I am trying to optimize my website and after checking Pingdom I see this (right now just focusing on the Google part outlined in red)

I am wanting to combine the 2 Google fonts in to 1 request, after checking Googles own documentation I find this solution:

According to Google I can take the 2 requests
http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans%3A300italic%2C400italic%2C600italic%2C400%2C600%2C700&ver=4.7
http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto%3A500%2C400italic%2C700%2C900%2C500italic%2C400%2C300&ver=4.7
and do something like this I think (syntax might be wrong):
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open Sans|Roboto">
to produce just 1 request, but my question is where do I put that new code to make newspaper only issue the 1 request? Please help me, thank you in advance.
That is not part of theme…. it’s inherent to how wordpress works.
Plenty of tutorials online for how to optimize your site.
For my examples of how to remove the query strings see my long winded thread in the theme docks > DIY / Tutorials > best of forums …
Basically you need to add a couple of lines to your functions.php file to remove “query strings” from your WordPress head/META data.
Also, if you’re using caching/CDN, most of the settings related to caching are in your caching/CDN setup and not the theme!
Good luck!
