Well… if the old content is not actually there, and your dbase is optimized, and the info shows up on a mobile device, perhaps problem with mobile device cache not cleared.

It’s technically impossible for a site to show defunct content if no longer in dbase as dynamic site, unless it’s been “cached” someplace, like opcache, mod_pagespeed, CDN, Varnish, cache plugin, etc.

Obviously if you load up an old version of site layout, with, say content in old categories, no longer updated, that old content would show up again.

Do you have same issue switching to a default theme, view on mobile device? Then, reactivate this theme, visit again on mobile device?

Have you done normal house keeping like
a) optimize dbase to clear transients, such as with wp-optimize
b) resave permalinks to clear temp WP redirect cache
c) checked your site via FTP to see if you still have a caching folder with cached files
d) checked your htaccess file to see if you have links to cached files or cache redirects leftover from caching system?

All that can possibly be culprit.

I’m actually using Newsmag now, but very similar for some of the admin panel.

I think you can turn on the image sizes in the modules panel for theme? The section where you can turn on/off different images sizes for blocks/modules.

You can see one of my Newsmag sites on the “showcase” page … (the California one). Note the site just switched to Newsmag 3.1 from 1.7, and I have not yet fully optimized it (logo wrong size in footer, mod_pagespeed is off, critical CSS not yet in header, etc.).

TagDiv is in diff time zone from me — I don’t hang out here, but sometimes I have little iwndows of “waiting on some dumb server thing to run …” where trapped a moment or three; so poke my head into facebook, here, couple of the wordpress plugin forums I use, then pop back. So, sometimes I’m around, sometimes you won’t see me for week ot two ….

these days I just chime in if its something topical to what I’m actually doing, like the https stuff.

Also super important:
a) delete old themes you no longer use!
b) delete plugins not being used or planned to be used.
c) make sure you have full dbase backup, site backup, etc.
d) look in your plugin folder for any weird php files you didn’t put there or included with theme;
e) reset/refresh CDN, clear cache, resave permalinks, clear transients with wp-optimize.

You still need to optimize your server setup, and follow the docs under tutorials for optimizing site speed.

Theme cannot optimize your hosting setup for thing like gzip/deflate, caching time to live, image compression, caching or server time to first byte.

Recently learned of a great website that compresses images perfectly: https://tinyjpg.com/

Having backed up all of my websites using FTP access, I took EVERY image and uploaded them to this compressing image site, one folder’s worth at a time.

Then saved the compressed images in new appropriately named folders and CAREFULLY uploaded to overwrite the images on the server. This took me days to complete but it saved my hosting server sooooo much room it wasn’t funny.

Also … installed WP Optimize plugin and cleaned out EVERY revision ever made to EACH website saving even MORE server space. One site alone saved 46.2MB another 10.3MB … yes, MegaBites.

Once you’ve completed your clean up be sure to deactivate and remove this plugin until next cleaning. Extra plugins will cause your server to slow down too so there is no need to leave this one installed.

Am guessing others are now experiencing the same Resources Limit Reached prompts that made me go looking for a new theme … as old themes that have not been updated and fully optimized will also bog down a server.

Theme doesn’t store third party plugin data; the WordPress database does.

You can try cleaning your dbase with wp-optimize plugin, which I use.

You can also resave permalinks, clear any cache plugin, reset CDN if used.

Check the support forum for that plugin to see if others have similar issue.

1) deactivate and uninstall all plugins you arnt using.

3) clear all garbage tables whit garbage collector
4) deactivate garbage collector and install WP Speep to clean up and optimize DB (https://es-mx.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-sweep/)

Well, I use wp-optimize plugin to clean house.

You can also periodically check for errors and cleanup with PHPmyAdmin from your hosting panel. You can inspect tables and if you no longer use, or ever plan to use, an old plugin which added tables, you can scrub those very carefully following various tutorials online.

My main site dbase is 252MB, with 14,000 posts. 🙂

I had to remove the page from the menu. Delete it, then re-create it and re-add it to the menu and then it displayed properly. I also cleaned things up using WP Optimize.

But it works when you preview it from the page editor ?

Perhaps try resaving permalinks; and also try clearing transients with wp-optimize plugin.

That’s what I do with oddball server caching stuff.

I didn’t translate something yet manually.
I also checked some other settings of the theme and until now it seems that everything works fine.
So, I deactivated all the plugins as you proposed except “visual composer” and “WP Super cache”. I cleared the cache and tried again without any luck.
I don’t use wordfence and I don’t have any cdn files.

Plugin list that I use: Admin Columns, Coming soon and Maintenance mode WpDevArt, Enhanced Media Library, EWWW Image Optimizer, greeklish-permalinks, Regenerate Thumbnails, tagDiv Mobile Theme, tagDiv Social Counter, tagDiv Speed Booster, WP Super Cache, WPBakery Visual Composer and Yoast SEO

Now should I start translating from English to Greek ? 🙂

For those who might want to experiment,
we actually use a nifty plugin for quite awhile now called ”
Contextual Related Posts” — which has a sidebar widget, and is nice because it does a cached copy of related items per post in the post meta so actually very efficient.

Can use thumbs, or only text, can be based on cats, content, or tags, I believe.

Theme adds no ‘harmful’ code; but obviously if you did, that would be the cause.

You can do “view source” on your post/pages to see if that content still there anyplace; clear any caching you’re using; clear transients with wp-optimize wouldn’t hurt either.

I think you can also scan your site from your Google Search Console (webmaster tools) to see what examples/pages they’re talking about, if memory serves (not sure on that).

Well, make backup and then try deleting old visual composer plugin, and install the current version from the all files download and see if it works for you.

Note that “stopped working” means you can’t edit anything or make new items with VC.

If that is not what you meant, perhaps reword that?

note if you’re asking about ‘activation’ — you don’t need to ‘activate’ the plugin with Bakery folks to use it, as version included with theme is ‘bundled version.’

Try installing latest version from theme download in /plugins/ folder; try clearing cache, resave permalinks, and delete transients with wp-optimize plugin.

Hi, no idea; I don’t use any mobile theme plugins; preferring to rely on optimized responsive design and AMP support, etc.
