The main menu on my site keeps disappearing.
If I scroll down and back up, it reappears on screen redraw. If I refresh the page or go to another page, it disappears again.
I saw another thread that mentioned this problem, and the support person said that Newspaper is incompatible with Thrive Leads. That would be a BIG problem, as Thrive is not exactly a fly-by-night shop, and their lead tool is my primary lead generation tool.
Thoughts?
Hi awesome people at TagDiv,
I still have ‘Newspaper theme’ installed on my primary website and I am indeed proud of it. It still looks much better than any other news/magazine themes available in the market.
But with the recent advancement in the content industry, there are few features which are slowly becoming the MUST for all the modern day’s news websites and I am sad to say that TagDiv team works very slow with the updating the theme with major feature enhancements.
I know that whenever we ask about the feature updates, the team says that they have a lot of bug backlogs, security features, and other fixes to look at before actually adding any new features to combat the modern website needs and features adopted by other websites.
But then, it’s kind of sad because it means that either your current themes are highly imperfect ( so you always need more time for the improvements, security fixes) or the developers are very slow in the developments process.
I am sure that the first option is totally untrue since your themes are really highly stable, bug-free and awesome but then I have to think about the second option to blame the slow process of adding new feature updates.
The reason I am saying this more emphatically is because almost after 2 months of purchasing ‘NewsPaper theme’ , I had purchased a new theme called ‘Bimber’ by ‘BringThePixel’ team and I must say that within 6-7 months of having them for one of my projects, they have made lots and lots of super awesome feature updates that I am still only dreaming here with NewsPaper ( alongwith fixing old issues)
After almost every two months, they do some major updates. In their very recent major update ( today itself), they have also included ‘Auto Load Next Post’ along with many other new features. Here is one snapshot of their very recent update list:

There are hundreds of threads here asking for the ‘Auto load next post’ feature in newspaper theme. I have also noticed that now many major news sites like thenextweb.com, vice.com, Quint.com etc. have already included ‘Auto-load next post’ in last two months on their site. With millions of social media users on the internet. People are now more used to the habit of keep scrolling endlessly for news/contents till they find something interesting and hence it’s almost mandatory now for other news sites as well for more traffic and low bounce rate.
Many other features like ‘creating trivia, personality quizzes, more robust ad-management, sticky share buttons, watermarks can also make our Newspaper theme super awesome.
Newspaper theme has always been Payoneer in bringing the most advanced features needed to bring more traffic, stability and optimisation to the news/magazine theme industry and I do want TagDiv to continue this culture of being the best and top-notch.
So, please please work on new features, at-least this ‘Auto load next post’ thing to not let us feel inferior in the current content world. Also, if possible, make a page for the public roadmap of the features you want to include in the future updates where users/members can upvote to prioritize the features for the next update. In the start-up world, this culture of making a public roadmap is very much famous and really helpful in creating a more robust and user-friendly product/tools/services.
Hope you understand and take this message positively.
Looking forward to the good news đ #LoveForTagDiv
Thank you.
Hello,
I know, Newspaper is compatible with AMP and Yoast SEO plugin, but are you seriously considering to support it by yourself? I mean, there’re many themes/templates on Envato that now supports AMP with a first-party plugin and a dedicated lightweight template for it (and to be honest there’s is a clone of your template, it has the same clean design, its name is Publisher).
The fact is that Google is now officialy supporting AMP and increasing indexing of the sites that use it (actually Google Adsense is suggesting me to use it to optimize my website.) so i’m extremely interested to use it. But here is the problem, there isn’t a dedicated AMP template that respect my website primary design (Newspaper) and i don’t want to buy another one, because i love Newspaper and i spent a lot of time to optimize my website at the best (92/90 Google Pagespeed).

So i’m here to ask you what are you doing about it.
Thanks.
Mobile Theme View Issues on Other Pages (Contents Not Showing Up)
Mobile View

Destop View

How do I solve such issue? Thanks
Hi lads
Same here
You keep saying that mobile won’t show the top menu.
If certain menu item is not that important to be placed in the main menu, it doesn’t mean it’s not important at all for the mobile phone users.
So how do we suppose to show it to the them?
Why not to have separate menu for mobie where we can stick all the items we need?
Otherwise it doesnt make sense at all.
Do yo uagree?
Thanks
No, I did not and thanks for asking. I decided to stay on Newsletter v7.8 and Visual Composer v5.2.1 for the time being. Traffic and Google Adsense revenue are back to normal and better than ever.
Eventually, I will try one more time to upgrade to v8.x (probably after the next release), except this time I will rebuild my pages using the new tagDiv Composer and see what happens. Not rebuilding my pages using the new composer and upgrading to v8 may have created the problem. I’m hosting of Flywheel, so I can install the upgrade and rebuild the pages in a staging environment and push it out to production when I’m done.
If I encounter another downturn in traffic and Adsense revenue after upgrading a second time to v8.x, I’ll just roll back to v7.8 again and start looking for a new WordPress theme. Theme upgrades should be relatively seamless and should not result in performance degradation. I will post a follow-up after I upgrade.
Being a publisher on Google News it is a hard hit on us that Newspaper does not come with AMP I would genuinely pay good money for it to have it. The plugins that give you AMP are simply too simple and the Newspaper theme AMP version by other publishers is okay but very basic and has no review feature, tho they said they will add it if I buy it which seems rather dodgy as I could buy it and they could never do it (Plus I spend $20+ on AMP Ads from them and it does not work!!!)
Thanks for the response. But how do I modify the image size? Are you saying to only upload a 96x96b image or is there a way to make the already uploaded images work? Example, here is a 300×200 author image:
https://coronadotimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/team_coree-300×200.jpg
Should I resize it to 96×96 to make it work? Or is there another way?
Hi,
A simple image with a link can be inserted in the ad sections of the theme panel. Like this example for the header ad
– https://www.screencast.com/t/0PHrIbY3V
Different ad scan be displayed depending on device. Please see this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
Thanks
I was given a recommendation by someone on here to use AdRotate to manage ads, especially that all of my ads are from customers and not AdSense or other marketing stuff. The designated spots for ads is great in the theme, but can’t seem to get the ads to show up that are in AdRotate, anyone help? When I place the HTML coding for an ad directly in the theme, of course it works, but that is not the purpose of the AdRotate….Anyone help would be greatly appreciated….
Hi,
An ad can be as simple as an image with a link, inserted in the theme panel ad section that you want
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1JzLM5zHaDl
– https://www.screencast.com/t/mF3PExZOge
There is also the possibility to show different ads based on device. Please see this guide with some examples
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
Thanks
Hi,
If the row is split in three columns, these columns will be displayed one below the other on smaller devices
– https://www.screencast.com/t/sloRZyimJTJ5
They could be made to be displayed next to each other, if that is what you want. In this example I added a custom class to the row containing three ads
– https://www.screencast.com/t/qHoLuXJx2j
Then used a code like this in Theme panel->ADvanced CSS in the phones section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/4j238JIv38K
The columns will be displayed next to each other, not below. Please correct me if I misunderstand something.
Thanks
Hi,
At the moment only the article inline ad can be positioned or aligned in the post content. This option may be added for the other article ads in future updates, but I cannot say for sure when it will happen.
Thanks
I tried what you mentioned simon.
It works; partly.
Still the images are not mobile friendly. I use 3 difrerent ads in 1 row. Each block carrying 1 custom ad but on the mobile version they’re not placed next to each other. It lists them from top to bottom.
Hi,
You could use other ads on mobile, then on desktop. Please check this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
You can display different ads depending on the device, each optimized for the instance they will appear.
Thanks
Hi,
You can insert your ad code in the Theme panel->Ads section, in the desired location

Hi,
How can I control what AdSense adds to my homepage? Ads by AdSense pop up everywhere on my homepage and other pages and I’d like some control as to where and how many there are.
Thanks!
Hello,
Also use the div’s provided for a custom ad: https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/other+ads/
Thank you!
Hi,
this is a feature request. I would be nice to have more than one inline ad. Do you think you could add this in future? Then i wouldn’t to be in need of using another plugin.
Thanks for the good work
Martin
Hi,
There is a flash noticeable, before the page fully loads. The default background color for the header is overwritten by the custom colors that are set. CSS works in cascade, first it will apply the default color, and then the other one. If this requires a few moments, this is more noticeable.
In this case you could try to remove any color you set in the theme panel or by any other means, and modify the background color in the theme stylesheet directly

Howdy … I have no idea which site is on my profile here, sadly, so might have to peek at that đ I actually have a main business site which hasn’t been updated in years, as I’m building my own WP theme from scratch for first time since 2011 for various reasons, from Bootstrap 3.x. But I manage a news network which uses TagDiv themes, and our main news ‘parent’ online since 2000 is mix of static shtml with 100/100 pagespeed score, and then news platform running on WP, but with a semi-custom theme not running TD, due to fact we started that prior to TD being in business and way too much hacking to switch.
As general rule for hacks:
a) yes, if you update theme, they get over-written as common sense — if you edit functions.php and then update theme, it uploads new file, so old one is gone. So, common method is to keep track of changed files, and edits by line number, then re-apply to new theme, then upload new theme with the same hacks applied (FTP, and I use TextPad on Win10, or BBEdit on Mac).
b) what I’ve started to do, with this new theme from scratch project, is move all mods to a plugin. This allows me to keep hacks, security mods, speed mods, inserts, RSS hacks, etc. in “one place.” — This is useful for stuff you don’t want to change every time with TD or other themes, but can’t always address stuff you actually do hack. — For instance, I take out the login code from TD theme headers. Have to do that every time. I also remove the xmlrpc, pingback or any of that stuff. == but again, with WP, you can often create your own plugin with a function to ‘enqueue’ something to the WP header, and this gets inserted to WP header, same way the theme panel does, but if you put it in your own plugin (which is insanely easy to do), then it survives theme update.
Not sure that helps — but food for thought. Thanks for kind words.
Also, I stopped posting links to my sites here as they end up getting barrage of hack attempts due to popularity of TD themes and a few bad actors lurking here.
As to JSON, I’m just learning how to build that from scratch myself, for this new ‘in house’ theme project — so, guess what I’m doing this coming Saturday! đ
Hi,
at the moment I’m implementing a simple Anti-Adblock plugin from me into Newspaper WordPress site. It replaces the blocked ads inside the themes classes like “td-a-rec td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_1”. I’ve noticed all of the 5 “custom_ad” classes contain the word “ad” in their class name. These elements are blocked by adblockers while the other ad class (like the one for the sidebar) hasn’t the word “ad” in it.
So my options are either changing the class names inside the /themes/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_block_ad_box.php with a code like this:
$check_css_name = ['custom_ad_1', 'custom_ad_2', 'custom_ad_3', 'custom_ad_4', 'custom_ad_5'];
if (in_array($spot_id, $check_css_name)){
$spot_id = str_replace("ad", "stealth", $spot_id);
}
or a theme update which changes the names. I think this would be an easy and convenient change.
It would be nice if you considered it. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I have an urgent problem to solve: my blog http://www.3dprinting.lighting (using Newsmag template) has been performing well for nearly 3 years. Now, at once, it is forwarded to another fraudulent website and my complete site has disappeared from the web.
My hosting provider spent over 2 days to work through the wordpress environment and tried to find a solution, with zero result. There’s no malware or frauduleus scripts been found, they think the script (the referral) comes from somewhere outside, and is brought in from time to time in one of the website scripts. As they are not malware expert or WordPress specialists, it is just guessing what’s going on. Resulting from this, my blog is completely whipped out from the search engine (Google) and Adsense earnings declined.
I need urgent help from a professional to solve this problem as my hosting company after two days of trying is not able to solve it.
With kind regards,
Marco de Visser

Hello team!
I am currently using Google Adsense on my theme, but there are places where it appears and others that are not. However, the ‘boxes’ are perfectly configured and associated to each theme panel advertising.
What can fail
Thank you đ
