heads up. I and several others have reported to WP Bugtrac a notable bug when using ‘classic editor,’ and WP 6.7.1 — clicking on a category for a new post, will pre-select up to 25-30+ other categories from the category selector on post page.

Not theme or plugin related.

Appreciate any light you can shed on this. I’ve tried both methods of adding Adsense code to the website. Through the Theme Panel and Composer. Google is not seeing the code.

Any other ideas?

Hey there,

I have a very annoying issue on my website – on mobile version when you load a page and click the menu button it loads really slow. Not only it loads slow but first it pushes the site back and after 2-3 seconds the menu appears. This is very bad user experience.

I noticed that if I switch delay javascript execution on WPRocket the problem is fixed – the menu loads immediately but as you can imagine a lot of other things get broken. I managed to exclude pretty much everything that gets bugged except the category siblings element and the filter of flex block elements.

Can you help me finding what to exclude so that these two elements don’t get broken?

If there is another workaround for the menu problem – please share.

Hi there

I’m using the Newspaper theme. Every time I add content which includes an apostrophe, the apostrophe appears with a space after it.

So what should read:

for our companions, it's often the exact opposite

actually reads

for our companions, it 's often the exact opposite

This happens for all words with apostrophes in them, whether I use a ‘ or a ’ style apostrophe.

If I change from the newspaper theme to another theme, then the extra spacing disappears.

I’ve checked in the MySQL database and there are no extra spaces in there. There are also no extra spaces in the html so it looks as if it may be a css issue?

Really happy with the theme but unless this is solved I will need to move elsewhere.

Thanks in anticipation for your help.

Hello,

Please let me know where you have looked to add the code. You can use AD BOX.
The ad box has 3 sections for ads: using theme panel ads -> https://i.imgur.com/KFa9ibl.png, using images/banners -> https://i.imgur.com/MfAPTaE.png and custom code -> https://i.imgur.com/2rh8SuD.png save it and will appear on the post (you can set a shortcode like a shortcode from adrotate plugin or other plugins).

Thank you!

I have been using v12.3 Compromise because all other latest versions crashed the website I am managing a VPN of 16GB RAM 4Core CPU. Every time I update to the latest version, within a second MySQL memory usage surges to 100% of the CPU usage. Virtually making the website not accessible

The only version that works well is v12.3 with our over 250k posts, other versions crash the site.
New the v12.3 download from (https://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Newspaper-12-3.zip) all needed plugins downloaded from the cloud, seem to have been compromised.

Problem: I woke up the morning to figure out that a javascript in been injected into the page causing a pop and redirecting to another site.

I have tried to update to a recent version but the website could barely load.
I have deactivated all plugins and themes, uploaded new theme files, and allowed the CDN to download of new plugins from the CDN. When I tested the homepage, the Pop problem came back.

How do we fix this,

If you want to check, I could give you login access

Hi, thanks it’s working now. I found the Jetpack Boost plugin in another place (on the jetpack site in wordpress it seemed deactivated and said that i have to pay first) and could deactivate the settings you send in the first place.
But I’ve been having another problem that might also have to do with Jetpack, but I’m not sure. On https://perspektive-online.net/ there’s a field on the right for the most read articles (“Meistgelesen”). The load more button works but it loads the same articles: https://gem.353.team/s/TzEb68kW8wneMtC

Unfortunately, I haven’t yet created a table using copied and pasted Excel data. This is harder than I thought.

After I open a new table in the block editor, the problem is where does the copied Excel data go? I tried pasting it to the top left hand cell in the table, and it only filled that cell with a very compressed and lengthy string of data. All other cells were empty. My table is comprised of 8 columns and 37 rows.

Is it possible to easily import Excel spreadsheet data into a WordPress table or do I need a special plug-in?

Hello,

The theme does not bring back anything if you make changes, only if you re-import the template.
Usually, the ads in prebuilt websites are set in the element AD BOX, and you can remove it, edit with tagDiv Composer, select the viewport for phone and select the Ad box element and with right-click you can delete it => https://www.screencast.com/t/2GfCVx9BCAw7 or with drag & drop place it into the deleting red zone from the bottom right of the page

Thank you!

Hi,

Please advise me on the following question…

On the site gif2you.com advertising is loading slowly. This is confirmed by Adsense statistics.

On the Adsense forum, there is an explanation from an expert: “Then the problem is in your site or hosters, for example, loading third-party scripts is blocked when rendering your layout and scripts.”

On the other two sites, ads load faster:
sunshinepic.com
en.sunshinepic.com

I moved a site with slow loading ads to the same hosting where two other sites are located. The problem has not been solved.

At the moment, the sites have everything set up identically:
– Hosting
– Geolocation – Dallas
– NewsPaper 12.6.8
– WordPress 6.6.2
– PHP Version 7.4.33
– WP Memory Limit 256 MB
– PHP Execution Time 240
– PHP Max Input Vars 10000
– The same set of plugins
– The same CloudLinux hosting support system

The difference is that the site gif2you.com is 6 years old, and the other two sites are young, both of them are no more than a year old.

Is it possible that using NewsPaper on gif2you.com 6 years old, after numerous updates, there are settings left that conflict with Adsense.

Please help me understand the issue.

Thank you.

I’m experiencing issues with the Newspaper theme. Since switching to it, my site has become extremely slow, and I’m getting frequent CPU overloads on my hosting server, along with the “Error establishing a database connection” every 10-20 minutes. When I switch to another theme, everything works smoothly without any problems.

I have attached a screenshot of the error for reference: https://imgur.com/a/xaqb0Td

Do you have any suggestions or solutions for this?

**EDIT TO ADD**
It is something to do with the POST LOOP SETTINGS, and I can’t seem to be able to turn it off.

******

Thank you for your reply Anamaria.
I cannot select the element at all. I am not being given an option to do so.
When I hover over the other elements, they have a blue background. Nothing happens when I hover over this bit.

I am sure there is an easy answer, but I am new to this and I cannot see the solution. Thank you 🙂

Able to select the element above the box

Able to select the footer element, but cannot get the bit above it.

Hello,

So, as you can see in these topics
https://developers.facebook.com/community/threads/576050684910860/ -> https://wordpress.org/support/topic/403-forbidden-error-on-facebook-2/ -> https://developers.facebook.com/community/threads/825654679324994/ , this issue is not related to the theme, but rather to Facebook. In these topics, other themes are used, and yet the problem still appears. If you want, you can test our demos, and you will see that this issue does not occur – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_pro/wordpress-news-magazine-charts-the-most-chic-and-fashionable-women-of-new-york-city/ – > https://i.imgur.com/TphGmhG.png
Also, nobody deletes the topics.

Hi, Maybe you can give us all some advice. Since a lot of your directory themes and other themes depend of ACF. Which direction will Divtag go?

a) SCF and stick to auto downloads with the repo, and any Pro version they might bring out in the future.

OR

B) Stick to ACF and download manually, and stick with ACF Pro ?

Which way will Divtag go? and hence which way should we follow…

Hi,

If the AdSense code needs to be set between head tags, this can be set in our theme in Theme Panel -> Analytics/Js Codes. Example: https://prnt.sc/1tju9qf -> https://prnt.sc/10jk7fq
Also, you can use the AD BOX.

Thank you!

Hello!

We need help fixing the layout of the banners showing in the header ad code of our newspaper theme.

We use to have just one header ad showing just below the navigation of our website and it was 970×250 but there was a lot of white space on each side so we want to take advantage and now we want to show two ads with the following dimensions:

900×300 on the left, and 600×300 on the right.

We still have some 970×250 ads showing as we slowly transition clients but but for some reason the 900×300 and 600×300 ads aren’t showing level with each other. Example:

homepage with two banners, both have a height of 300 but not displaying correctly

Here is how we set it up:

1. Opened TD Editor
2. Created a new row and made sure it was under the header area so it showed on all pages etc..
3. For the row, under general, we selected the layout to be split in two columns: 7/12 + 5/12
4. We then scrolled down to extra and widened the row to stretch row to 1600

That is all we did for that. We then added an ad box to each column and selected the ad spot to use. Just a note, we use advance ads to rotate our ads.

Any feedback on how we can make that section look nice and work properly would be amazing and greatly appreciated!

In the footer of my website, I have a block “Popular Catagories” which has default page generations for each Category. How do I change those defaults to otherScreenshot of footer prebuilt web pages?

Hallo,

We are curently use the “Multicategories” template for displaying categories and tag pages. However, we are experiencing an issue where the article images are loaded as background images. This prevents the use of the image optimization tools we have in place, which leads to slower page loading, especially on mobile devices.

After searching through your Cloud Library, we couldn’t find a template that loads article images without using background images. Could you let us know if there’s a template available that addresses this issue, or suggest any other solutions to improve the image loading performance?

Thank you, @simchris, for your suggestion. I just tried creating a new homepage under **Pages**, and I was able to edit it without any problems, even when it’s set as the homepage. However, the homepage generated by the **”News Free”** prebuilt template cannot be edited with tagDiv Composer, even when it’s not set as the homepage. It gives the following error:

> **Error at zones: 6(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content. Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z).**

Also, thanks to your idea, I saved the homepage generated by “News Free” under a different page name and installed another prebuilt template that works without issues. But when I set that saved page as the homepage, it gives the same error.

**Conclusion:** The problem lies in the page generated as the homepage in the **”News Free”** prebuilt template.

Additionally, we’ve observed the following:

– We’ve tested most of the other prebuilt templates one by one, and none of them have this issue. The error seems to be specific to the **”News Free”** template.
– We suspect there might be an error or corruption in the content or configuration of the “News Free” homepage that causes it to be incompatible with tagDiv Composer or leads to the 500 Internal Server Error.

Given that we’ve replicated this problem on three different installations across three different providers—all on fresh servers with no additional installations—it seems there might be an inherent issue with the “News Free” prebuilt template itself.

Thank you again for your help! If you or anyone else has further suggestions or has encountered a similar issue, I’d greatly appreciate your input.

Hello!

We have a guide with some tips on why our Composer is not working properly; please check it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-not-working/.
Examine some other potential interfering factors: https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-newspaper-theme/
Make a test and deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using a cache plugin, deactivate it, clear all cache and try again.
Check all these requirements for the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Please note that page speed is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/
I can offer some suggestion regarding the page speed:
Optimize Images: Compress images before uploading them to your WordPress site. You can use plugins like WP Smush or EWWW Image Optimizer to automatically optimize images without losing quality.

Utilize Caching: Implement caching to reduce server load and speed up page loading times. WordPress caching plugins like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache can generate static HTML files of your pages to serve users instead of dynamically generating them each time.

Minify CSS and JavaScript: Minify your CSS and JavaScript files to remove unnecessary characters and reduce file sizes. This can be done manually or through plugins like Autoptimize or W3 Total Cache.

Enable GZIP Compression: Enable GZIP compression on your server to reduce the size of files sent from your server to users’ browsers. Most hosting providers offer GZIP compression, but you can also enable it through plugins like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.

Optimize Database: Regularly clean up and optimize your WordPress database to remove unnecessary data and improve performance. You can use plugins like WP-Optimize to automate this process.

Limit External Requests: Minimize the number of external requests your website makes by reducing the use of external scripts and widgets. Each external request adds overhead to your page’s loading time.

Enable Lazy Loading: Implement lazy loading for images, videos, and iframes so that they are only loaded when they are visible on the user’s screen. This can significantly reduce initial page loading times.

Optimize Server Response Time: Choose a reliable hosting provider with fast server response times. Consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to serve your content from servers closer to your users.

Regularly Update Plugins and Themes: Keep your WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated to the latest versions to ensure compatibility with the latest performance optimizations and security patches.
Ads can significantly impact the speed of your WordPress website since they often involve loading external resources and scripts. You can try to limit the number of ads, optimize ad sizes and formats, and implement lazy loading on your ads.

By following these tips, you can significantly improve the page speed of your WordPress website, leading to better user engagement, higher search engine rankings, and overall improved performance.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask about the benefits of AMP in 2024 because I’m considering implementing it on my website as well. Is it still relevant or not for a blog or news website that aims to generate revenue through ads when using AMP?

I’ve heard some recent news saying AMP is no longer relevant since it’s no longer supported by Google, but from all the articles I’ve read, they emphasize, “If your site is a news site, using AMP is an important step.”

My mobile website, when tested on PageSpeed Insights for Core Web Vitals, passes the assessment. However, I’m still confused about whether I should use AMP or not. I’m uncertain because the Core Web Vitals results sometimes fail after a month or after significant Google updates.

What about you? Do you use AMP, and has it been beneficial for your site’s ranking or revenue? Is using AMP for a blog or news website a necessity?

I hope I or others who are as confused as I am about AMP can gain clarity from experienced webmasters and theme developers here.
