Hi, I’ve just set up Newspaper theme on a staging site, everything seems to be working fine apart from Visual Composer for the homepage. The Visual Composer is available from the back end and I’ve started off with the existing default template, but when I publish there is nothing showing in the content area on the homepage – there is just a blank space between the header and footer? Is there something obvious I am missing to enable it to display?

The staging site is password protected, so if you need to see it can I send you the URL privately?

For video post I am using style 11 template : http://bit.ly/1GO5may — As you can see in the post page I have only added the subtitle as the content and I left the content section empty… What I am trying to do is to have subtitle as the main content of the post.

I would like to know that how it will effect the site SEO? and why in search result in meta description it shows the Post Title first and then it shows the meta description : http://imgur.com/VH1mLrE

I would like to know how can fix it? and is it possible to fix it or not?

What I would like to achieve is to have subtitle as the main content only for the video post 11 style template.

Apart from that… why do i see post title in the meta description? when i search any of my post in google search. : http://imgur.com/VH1mLrE and i feel that it’s a really issue.

Searched the forums but found nothing about this.

I’ve been using it without problems forever now, but today when I went to add our new Instagram account to it (username only, public account, plugin v3.0) the plugin started throwing fatal errors. I have errors suppressed but here are the error log entries for a single page load…

I’ve been using Twitter, Facebook, SoundCloud, and Google+ in the counter widget. I don’t use it in VC. Adding the IG account is what threw the error. Haven’t been able to get the counter (at all) or anything down the document to load for any page where it’s supposed to show up since.

I tried deleting the plugin and installing fresh from the 6.5.1 release of Newspaper, no joy. Not sure what else to do here but report the bug. Made changes to the accounts used (flirted with not showing the SoundCloud profile) about a month ago with everything up to date (WP, VC, Counter, Newspaper, etc.). The only thing that has changed in that time is that I now run on PHP v5.6 instead of v5.5. First issue I’ve had with it since Feb 2014.

No clue what to try next and not making much of the error log to tell me what to fix.

1. For style 11 (Video) template for post. I am not adding any content in the content section. Instead I am using subtitle area for the content. I would like to know that will it affect seo? If yes… then is it possible to make changes in code so that good will take subtitle as the content of the site?

2. How can I remove the bottom social share buttons only for STYLE 11 Video template for post?

3. Is it possible to choose different block for mobile screen and desktop on homepage.?

Hi,

Instead of CATEGORY FORM LAYOUT from the theme (this link), i use a PAGE TEMPLATE created using the page creator (this link).

My reason is that, i am working my SILO STRUCTURE. I have a page (same slug) with the CATEGORY.

My issue is I can’t have the TITLE and BREAD CRUMBS same as the default category format. However, if i use a PAGE CLASSIC format – i have both the TITLE of the PAGE as well as the bread crumbs. (see this link).

I removed a line of code that a developer friend added for me to the ‘Newspaper: Homepage – blank Page Template (page-homepage-blank.php)’. The code that he had added was this:

He helped me add that because earlier I wanted the date to display at the top of my homepage. I no longer want this, so I thought I could just remove it.

Now however, if you take a look at my site, things aren’t looking so hot, and I’m not exactly sure how to fix it. In between the dashes below is what the code currently looks like:

I am having problems with my site after updating to the latest version of the newspaper theme. (I updated from version 3 to 6 yesterday)

I think the problems are related to the visual composer plugin not working correctly.

I want to use one of the pre-defined homepage templates for my homepage but I cannot access the templates as the backend editor of visual composer does not work or show up.

I spoke to my ‘WordPress guy’ and after taking a look he reckons that it seems like a theme bug and it was best to contact the theme dev.

What should I do? Thanks in advance.
