Hi,
The Core Web Vitals is apply on all devices, (desktop, mobile, amp), usually, the fervent problems are on mobile and desktop, the amp version most of the time do don’t have problems because is a quick preview from google (it is not actually on your website).
And yes, you can achieve it without amp plugin, all you need to do is to optimize your website.

Hi!
I have connected AMP + Mobile.
When checking, PageSpeed Insights does not redirect the main page of the site to AMP (/amp/).
All other pages of the site PageSpeed Insights redirect to AMP (/amp/).
In debugger mode (mobile) there is a JS redirect of the main page to AMP (/amp/).
For some reason, PageSpeed Insights does not redirect to AMP (/amp/) for the main page.
Is this how it should be or is there something wrong with the home page?
Help me please.
Hello, I have checked the CLS error of my site on mobile via PageSpeedInsights and other tools. The Filed Data (Real Life User Experience data) is showing CLS error. I have tried many things to get rid of the issue but cound not. How can I fix that? Please help me with the issue. If you have developers who fix the errors, then please suggest me. Thank you.

Please make sure to use our newest tool called tagDiv CSS Analyzer which comes in handy to resolve some of your issues. Take a look at the video guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnkVapqhIHc
“This custom tool performs an automatic test to find missing CSS rules applied by user interaction. Moreover, you can manually interact with a chosen section/component from the page while the tool records all the involved CSS. It will generate the final CSS file for this page and also will split the rules in Critical CSS to be loaded in the website’s header.” ( https://tagdiv.com/whats-new-in-the-newspaper-theme-10-4-update/ )

Thank you!
Hello,
The page speed is not related only to the theme that you are using, this is affected by plugins/content/ads/ external resources, etc.
I just checked your website and it looks that your images used on the map => https://www.screencast.com/t/YK8KTa7qT are not optimized, for example, you can use the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin, also, you can try other plugins like Autoptimize, but I am not sure if it works on the images from this map (you can contact the authors of the plugin and ask how you can set the height and width on images if you succeed then you will have a better score). Your website needs an optimal speed that’s why you need to make some settings also to help for the improvement.
Also, to increase the page speed you can check these similar topics for more solutions:

– https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/
However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view.
Let me explain some of these factors and maybe they give you some starting points for optimizing your website.
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.
Internal factors: the number of elements on the page, image size, image formats, if you are using mobile optimized layouts, console errors, if you are using the Standard Pack plugin on not if you are using PRO demo or a standard one.
Also, you can try to update on a staging website or subdomain the theme to version 11 and try our tool https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnkVapqhIHc
Our tool is running only on normal pages and not for posts or categories for example.

Why is my website‘s mobile Google test slow?
Use PageSpeed Insights to test.
My score is only 20 points.
The newspaper 10 I bought last year.
You are now 11.
I tested your website just now, and the mobile terminal score is 90 points.
Can you help me analyze why my website score is so low?
I tried to enable your mobile speed optimization plugin.
But after enabling this plugin.
You need to edit the content of the mobile terminal separately, and you cannot use templates.
I cannot accept this.
So how can I optimize my mobile site?
Hello!
I see that you solved the majority of the issues and you have a great score in Google Pagespeed Insights. My recommendation is to check the tutorials from those platforms gt metrix and Google Pagespeed Insights and I’m sure you can increase the page speed.
Our developers are working a lot to improve the page speed in every update.
So, please make sure you use the latest update of the theme and plugins because it may help you for your page speed.

Hello!
Once you start working on your website and start adding elements, design your templates, add posts, your page will get heavier. But for this you will have to always take care and make sure that everything you do is optimized. There are plenty websites that use Newspaper Theme and have great pagespeed. This all depends on how well you optimize your website and its content.
Bellow you can find some topics from Newspaper Users where they recommend different options for page speed:
– https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/a-few-tips-for-newspaper-x-speed-high-cpu-usage-issues/

The current theme goes through pagespeed one hundred percent. But why can’t we get the same performance even though we do everything within the framework of your suggestions?
Hi @Anamaria,
will the options for the footer logo be really implemented in the next update?
We really need it.
It could improve a lot the pagespeed score and CLS.

Hi. Can you please check this? https://www.fmh.gr/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=11. What is that? Where it is used and how it can be unloaded?
The magnific popup code is shown as unused js.
I also run the clean css and generate fallback css for the theme. But it doesn’t seem to clean. See the pagespeed results: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fmh.gr%2F&tab=mobile
AMP is mainly useful if you’re looking for a simpler, pure mobile experience for your information; kind of like the WordPress default themes. The idea is to make page load faster in places with slow internet, slow mobile connections, etc. — there is no inherent ‘better’ reason to do AMP vs normal desktop responsive layouts, unless you have very slow server and are unable to pass Google Lighthouse mobile/desktop tests for best practices.
In our case we use Newsmag desktop theme for desktop, ipad, and mobile. We use the AMP plugin as fallback for Google to serve that simple version to those on slow connections. AMP is something Google invented to cache popular content in the cloud for slow phone connections. Really not intended to replace ‘normal’ pages, site layouts, and almost nobody actually doing that unless a simple blog.
SEO is about pagespeed, best practices, optimization for loading elements, and the like. You can test your site using the Chrome web browser by learning to use the ‘console’ to see if your site is horribly slow — in that case AMP might be worth looking into as default format to serve, but it is not ‘better’ for SEO than normal pages. Having both normal pages and AMP format pages also does not hurt SEO as Google knows one is the ‘canonical’ version and one is ‘alt’ version.
(( I don’t work here, just longtime user. ))
Hello Vlad,
unfortunately even in v11 the logo has missing width and height, here is a screenshot:

It would be good if you could fix this, so the pagespeed score gets even better.

Hello Vlad,
if the fonts cannot (or shouldn’t) be removed, how can I add “font-display: swap” to all the @font-face styles in the theme? It would be great if you could do this in an update of the theme so it is optimized for pagespeed.
There are a lot of other minor things, that this theme can do, e.g. set an explicit width and height on image elements to reduce layout shifts and improve CLS (logo in header and footer).
Greetings,
Kristiyan
After much more testing I found the culprit:
In Plesk under Apache & nginx Settings for each site you have to disable “Enable nginx caching”.
It doesn’t seem to negatively effect speed results and Google PageSpeed now always pulls the correct version of the site for each mobile and desktop test.
Hello,
I made some pagespeed benchmarks on our website today and saw that the amp version of an article loads fonts we do not use, like “plugins/td-composer/mobile/images/icons/mobile-theme.woff” or “/themes/Newspaper/images/icons/newspaper.woff”. On top of that we would like to improve rendering by settings @font-face with font-display: swap, which we did successfully on the non-amp version.
I would like to know, how can we remove “plugins/td-composer/mobile/images/icons/mobile-theme.woff” and “/themes/Newspaper/images/icons/newspaper.woff” from the amp code? Also I would like to add custom @font-face definitions with “font-display: swap” on the amp version, is this possible?

Hi
When I run PageSpeed on any page on my website, I get the suggestions to “Defer offscreen images”, and “Properly size images” for the mobile page.
I have activated the relevant thumbnail sizes and regenerated all thumbnails, so I’d assume these should be used?
I thought AMP automatically deferred images too? Does the fact that they are part of a slider have something to do with them not being deferred?
Note I have tried this with all caching disabled so it’s not related to that.
Could you please advise.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi
When running PageSpeed, I receive the message “Image elements do not have explicit width and height” in relation to my retina logo. I’ve seen a few people post on here with this error and have tried a few things based on those posts but none of them resolve the issue.
