Hi,
1. Doing this should also bring some better results in pagespeed.
2. You can try a plugin like this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-webfonts-local/ this should resolve the problem and there will not be necessary to set a new font (this will download the google fonts locally and those will be more fast deliver).
The WP Rocket cache plugin is one of the best for our theme, but since it’s a premium cache plugin and the costs are more over the theme costs (that is one per live) we avoid to as our clients top buy it, but this is the best one with our theme. It can also be used the lightspeed this can also provide good results. Also for any cache plugin we recommend a CDN (free version).
Thank you!

Hello Boris!

Your score is 92 performance on mobile. Congrats!
I can see that your LCP is green and the CLS is the one affected that shows in orange color: https://web.dev/articles/optimize-cls?utm_source=lighthouse&utm_medium=lr. I can’t see anything regarding the logo image.
Please check the tutorials from Google Pagespeed Insights and I’m sure you can increase the page speed.

Hello, we are happy users of your wonderful Newspaper Theme. But, sh.. happens, we have two issues we might need help with.

Both are related to Google PageSpeed and there only for “Mobile”.

Please use the following url for testing:

https://gutschein-zeitung.de/belantis-gutschein-2-fuer-1-mit-50-prozent-rabatt-von-kaufland/

1. Please check LCP value. We did a lot to reduce him, but no way. What are we missing? What can we do?

2. Google complains that the used Logo for Mobile has not the correct dimensions. But we used exactly the sizes suggested from your theme. Why is that?

Thanks for your time and kind regards,

Boris

Good Luc, it seems that your first solution is sufficient to show the icons, which is the problem you were facing, and this is what is required
Also make sure that everything else is working well
Are pages, images, and elements loading well On desktop and mobile
https://pagespeed.web.dev/
In my opinion, this option(Guest Optimization) should not be used
JS is not affected except for minification and deferred
But if you don’t notice a problem, that’s okay
You are welcome my dear and We will follow up together on any problems regarding Litespeed servers as much as possible and help each other

Hello!

We know that page speed is very important, and we try to optimize the theme as much as we can, so you can have a great score with less optimization than before.
However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view.
A great solution is to use the Google PageSpeed Insights tool, so you can see exactly what you should optimize on your website.
For customization and other services, you can contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/.

@c386
Did you try to optimize your images first? Optimize Images: Compress images before uploading them to your WordPress site. You can use plugins like WP Smush or EWWW Image Optimizer to automatically optimize images without losing quality.

Thank you!

Hello!

However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view.
Unfortunately, we can only help you with some advice.
Please note that page speed or optimization are not covered by the support team. https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/
Our developers are aware of this issue and try to synthesize the composer, which is big, and fix the major problems of the theme and speed.
I recommend you use fewer features on the page, so the requests will be less as well.
Improving page speed in WordPress is crucial for providing a better user experience and optimizing your website for search engine rankings. Here are some tips to help you enhance your WordPress site’s page speed:

Optimize Images: Compress images before uploading them to your WordPress site. You can use plugins like WP Smush or EWWW Image Optimizer to automatically optimize images without losing quality.

Utilize Caching: Implement caching to reduce server load and speed up page loading times. WordPress caching plugins like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache can generate static HTML files of your pages to serve users instead of dynamically generating them each time.

Minify CSS and JavaScript: Minify your CSS and JavaScript files to remove unnecessary characters and reduce file sizes. This can be done manually or through plugins like Autoptimize or W3 Total Cache.

Enable GZIP Compression: Enable GZIP compression on your server to reduce the size of files sent from your server to users’ browsers. Most hosting providers offer GZIP compression, but you can also enable it through plugins like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.

Optimize Database: Regularly clean up and optimize your WordPress database to remove unnecessary data and improve performance. You can use plugins like WP-Optimize to automate this process.

Limit External Requests: Minimize the number of external requests your website makes by reducing the use of external scripts and widgets. Each external request adds overhead to your page’s loading time.

Enable Lazy Loading: Implement lazy loading for images, videos, and iframes so that they are only loaded when they are visible on the user’s screen. This can significantly reduce initial page loading times.

Optimize Server Response Time: Choose a reliable hosting provider with fast server response times. Consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to serve your content from servers closer to your users.

Regularly Update Plugins and Themes: Keep your WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated to the latest versions to ensure compatibility with the latest performance optimizations and security patches.
Ads can significantly impact the speed of your WordPress website since they often involve loading external resources and scripts. You can try to limit the number of ads, optimize ad sizes and formats, and implement lazy loading on your ads.

By following these tips, you can significantly improve the page speed of your WordPress website, leading to better user engagement, higher search engine rankings, and overall improved performance. Please check out the tips from those platforms: GTmetrix and Google Pagespeed Insights.Β

We will try to improve the shop part page speed issues and the JS issues in the next updates.

Thank you!

Dear Support Team

I am having the same issue with the TownTalk Child theme. LCP check is failing for mobile view in Google Page Speed tests. LCP for the mobile view of posts is about 5 seconds.

I am using WP Rocket Premium with all optimizations turned on.

Obviously, this is mainly related to the thumb image on top of the posts. This image is loaded in full size and then resized to the mobile width.

For some reason, I did not have this issue when installing the theme first time. Could it have turned up with the latest version updates?

Example URL: https://www.dating-vergleich.com/alternativ/gleichklang/

There must be a better way to include this image. I assume, that all your child themes have this same issue.

If there is no way of optimizing this part from a developers point, would it be possible to do a custom workaround: removing this feature image from the mobile theme for posts and pages?

Looking forward to a feedback on this.

Best regards
Joachim

Hi,

There are a lot of factors which can make your site slow. Make sure you use only some templates and fewer functionalities and options.
Some factors which you need to take into account are:
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.
Internal factors: the number of elements on the page, image size, image formats, if you are using mobile optimized layouts, console errors, if you are using the Standard Pack plugin or not, if you are using the PRO demo or a standard one.

Also, installing a demo doesn’t guarantee that you’ll achieve the same page speed as tested on our demos. You’ll need to perform optimizations. You can use caching plugins like Super Cache or the premium WP Rocket.

There are many optimization guides provided by our users here in the forum, some made by us; you could check some of them

Hello,

I have highlighted four issues I needed to fix below.

Site URL: https://converseer.com

1. After analysing my site, I realised fonts make up 57.8% of the total page size. This is a lot just for fonts. Please, how do I reduce this?

2. The DOM is very large and it’s causing high TBT time. How do I fix this – which HTML element do I need to fix or remove?

3. How do I preload the LCP image on the homepage? The theme is also using CSS background image, which I’ve realised can’t be preloaded. Is there an option to load these images inline instead?

4. The tagdiv JS file is very large and can’t be delayed. It should be more modular but everything seems to be in one big JS file. How do I optimise it? Is there any way you can load more of your CSS in an external file?

Please, I need help with this. I have been stuck, instead of creating content, I am stuck with optimisation. πŸ‘‰ https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-converseer-com/ty7j496bq7?form_factor=mobile

Thank you.

Hello,

I’ve analyzed your website and noticed many ad scripts https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-mecanicaonline-com-br/tl3om9q70l?form_factor=desktop, so you need to use a plugin to optimize and reduce resources for this, like WP Rocket. Additionally, I’ve seen that you need to optimize your images.

Thank you!

Infinite loading is not active also mega Menu is not active. I checked everything. You can see for yourself: 4kfilme.de.

The tdloadingbox.js is in my understanding only there for slowly fading the menue in. And because the .js is using jquery.js, if i want to defer jquery.js (via caching plugin) for performance purposes, the menu doesn’t show at all. It’s just an animation. Correct me if i’m wrong.

I could raise my pagespeed about 8 points only for defering jquery.js, but i cant, because then the menu on desktop wont show… this is just an necessary feature.

Hello,
I recently installed Newspaper theme on my site, https://converseer.com, however, there is a lot of CLS happening on the site and I need to fix it – https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-converseer-com/cakysj730l?form_factor=mobile.

This link has a good video here that shows the CLS happening. https://www.debugbear.com/test/website-speed/3zGTB74A/overview?metric=cumulativeLayoutShift#video-recording.

Please, I need help resolving the CLS.

Hi @Anamaria,

We used WP Rocket before and had a conversation with WP Rocket support team. To date, Newspaper and WP Rocket do not properly work together.

The preload function is for single post featured image. This feature doesn’t seem to properly work with EWWW plugin. I will make a new thread when finish testing.

Our server is optimised, as well as the theme.

– This thread (which was not started by me) is about the poor INP poor performance. It is the theme’s elements that make it fail (buttons, popups, mobile menu, comment form fields etc). It fails on your main demomobile origin – Despite you used a mobile page for home page, INP fails throughout your whole demo website.

You should probably improve the theme, so it meets the required criteria in 2024. It currently does not.
