Hi,
Is there any way to display taxonomies or custom taxonomies in grid format, just like posts (Post loops with pagination)? @ncalex
Hello,
For the category template, if you have set a posts loop then will display all posts in this category or you can use Flex Block/Big Grid Flex and set the filter to “Category -Current category” => https://i.imgur.com/7P99qx0.png and this is why the block will display posts for each category. So, pleased check the settings.
Thank you!
We have just published our site with Newspaper 12.3
We have a small problem. All our posts have at least two categories. The Flex Block and Post Loop seems to display by default one category – which is the first in alphabetical order of all the categories allocated.
See https://www.communitypractitioner.co.uk/category/professional-pause/ for example – categories are in green under the featured image.
I can’t see how we can adjust this. I would like to display the Primary Category in this place.
think I created a directory using this plugin and in the directory there are some m service and location inside these categories there are many posts in every categories. how can I show these posts using TagDiv Composer using Flex block / post loop or anything other.
There’s no meaning creating Fields if I can’t get them to show up inside a page or post
While updating from 12.2 to newer versions we got error resulting mobile theme homepage showing only posts you call grid (Grids & Latest Articles Settings). After those grid posts the error comes up. Reverting to 12.2 using your time machine everything works as usual.
The error that shows up is this one:
wp_booster error:

Hi, i’m using the newspaper theme to replace an old theme that was no longer being updated. The website in question is: http://www.corrieredellospettacolo.net. My question is the following: on the page called “Journey to the impossible”… I’m using Posts Loop and I would like to know if I can only recall posts that belong to a specific category?
Thank you.
Hello,
Please try to edit them with Tagdiv Composer, if you can’t then there are more options to do
1. https://i.imgur.com/j0sbNF1.png For the posts loop, please edit the page set the page template to default, and you can add the Posts Loop block in the page -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3jyBPefS0m8u
2.Footer -> if you a Pro Prebuilt Website you can edit with tagDiv Composer => https://www.screencast.com/t/UeBGkaYuundl, go to the footer and select the element you want to edit => https://www.screencast.com/t/3vhZ5v4k or
If you have a Standard Prebuilt Website you can edit the footer in Theme Panel -> Footer -> Footer info content => https://www.screencast.com/t/1mUchAid or in sub footer settings => https://www.screencast.com/t/Rrn6KKxt please make sure you have the tagdiv standard pack activate.
3. Sidebar ->
If you want to create the sidebar in Appearance -> Widgets and set the sidebar on pages, or using the tagDiv Composer; using the element from tagDiv Composer, Widget sidebar https://i.imgur.com/e1FPdYU.png -> https://i.imgur.com/q20UCZf.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/
Thank you!
Hello,
For the tag template, if you have set a posts loop then will display all posts in this tag or you can use Flex Block/Big Grid Flex and set the filter to “Tag -Current tag ” => https://i.imgur.com/1xEPyYd.png and this is why the block will display posts for each tag. So, please check the settings.
Thank you!
So This happens with both Posts Loop 2.
When I hit the Edit with tagdiv composer, I see the latest posts. When I hit save and close the composer, the same element will all of a sudden show as one column. When I am in the tagdiv composer, the featured image shows up. Yet when I save and close it then it is one column text with no featured image.
How can I fix this?
Hello,
I recommend changing the block with Big Grid Flex and after you will be able to change the image size https://i.imgur.com/kRGfpGn.jpg
For the posts loop, please edit the page set the page template to default and after you can add the Posts Loop block in the page -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3jyBPefS0m8u
Thank you!
Hello,
The only solution is to use a posts loop with number pagination -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/posts-loop/ -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_pro/page/2/ like in our demo.
Thank you!
Hello,
You can use the posts loop element, if it is added on a page, will display all the posts from all categories, in the category template, will display the posts from that category -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/posts-loop/
Thank you!
I’ve had a problem for many months that can’t be solved. I am attaching a video made with “screen capture” to show you the problem/error https://drive.google.com/file/d/19vDBqLTqOkvQSQDWgMeJjK9AYexMuQgY/view?usp=share_link
As you can see in all categories if I use infinity load it always loads the first 10 articles (always the same). The same thing happens if I use next or load more, it always loads the first 10 posts getting stuck (looped) on the first 10 posts. I am therefore forced to use “the numbered pages”. However, numbered pages are a problem because when Google indexes, it creates for example newscinema/page/1, newscinema/page/2, newscinema/page/3, etc.
So I have a lot of pages. I would like to use infinity load or load more but I can’t use it because there is the problem I described. In this way if I used load more or infinity load Goolge would index only one category without dividing it into pages.
Thanks

hi i’m using posts loop in category page, i would like the loop shows the subcategories and not the parent one, how can i do this?
Hello, Newspaper Support
We are trying to control by use of a Custom field (ACF) whether the Author Name of a particular post shows up or not.
We’ve tried plugins to control Post meta data (but not compatible with theme).
So, we are trying to do this by the code. So, we create a Custom Field with Advanced Custom Fields in Posts.
Now, we are trying to edit the Single Post template to hide or shows depending on the value of the Custom Field.
So, there we have a couple of questions here…
Which is the best file to edit to create the PHP/JS code to basically use code to hide/show Author meta data?
We tried Loop_Single.php but no luck (plus there are several in different areas).
So, the two questions are which file to edit to create a basic IF Statement with the value of the Custom Field…
Also, how do we get the Post_ID value from within the single template or other file when it is “outside the loop”?
I’d tried the : get_field(‘hide_author_name_on_post’); per ACF instructions…. but we don’t get it… and are outside any kind of Post loop.
We are not really sure what direction to go…so would appreciate any help you can give 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Tim
Hello!
Edit the page with the TagDiv Composer and type “post” in the post type option : https://prnt.sc/UIkd5fOAdHAf for the posts loop and header search live elements.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please let me know what sort option you have set on the posts loop, I did a test, and for me works -> https://i.imgur.com/uMUjJ9J.png
Thank you!
I am trying to show only certain posts from a specific category in my footer using Flex Loop. I’m not able to see any option to do that with this element. Can you please help me with it?
Hello,
I noticed that the pagination with the posts loop module in tagdiv composer doesn’t work. When I click on number 2 or next button, the page is loading and returns to the number 1.
Is there an option to activate this functionality?
Here is an example about the design : https://pasteboard.co/iESe6Dlg3uMP.png
The prebuilt theme is sport.
Thank you
This screenshot is the custom field created for a custom post type with Governor as one of the taxonomy.
Image 1
While building the custom post’s single-post page might be easy, I could not display ACF custom field inside my posts loop on the taxonomy/category page, as shown in the screenshot below.
Image 2
I could not render fields like Age, Qualification, and votes on the taxonomy page loop.
Hello I am trying to display the full post on a category page. I’ve added the following code can you tell me if it is correct? The page keeps breaking. I’m using the post loop block.
//Add Full Post to Live Blog instead of excerpt
function show_full_post( $post ) {
if ( $post->post_type === ‘live-blog’ ) {
$post->set_excerpt( ” );
}
}
add_filter( ‘the_post’, ‘show_full_post’ );
or
function show_full_post( $post ) {
if ( is_category( ‘updates’ ) ) {
$post->set_excerpt( ” );
}
}
add_filter( ‘the_post’, ‘show_full_post’ );
In my previous reply to you I indicated I had a fix – “Fixed it by using the “Flex Block 1” instead of the “Post Loop” to generate the thumbnail posts/images under the featured image (Posts Loop 2). I now realize this fix is not adequate as I have lots of categories, and would have to make a diff template for each one so that I could set the “Flex Block 1” filter to match the appropriate category.
I created separate templates and used my fix for the main post pages in my nav bar (Faces, Arts/Culture, Food/Drink/ Health, Style, Weekend Away, Outdoor Fun, Travel), but of course it is inefficient to do this for all of the Categories (see list here – https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vermbXNlLDelB_Fx1lBGPOxgBlnqQtfZ/view?usp=share_link).
• In my “fix,” the main post pages in the nav use Posts Loop 2 for the featured (large) image, and the “Flex Block 1” (set to the appropriate Category) for the thumbnail posts.
• The other Category post pages listed under More don’t have a featured (large) image. I use the “Flex Block 1” alone for the thumbnail posts. When I use the Posts Loop 2 to generate the featured (large) image and add the Posts Loop below it, it doesn’t work. When in the edit mode of the TagDiv Composer it appears to work, but when I pull up the live version of the site, the Posts Loop only shows 1 post, and even ignores the offset (set to 1). See here – https://bayarearegistry.com/category/travel/outdoors/. Pictured is Posts Loop 2 + Posts Loop + Flex Box 1. Flex Box 1 is the correct output.
Hi,
I can’t load any type of posts inside the post loop module. I tried: post, page, motos (cpt) and always get the message: no psots to show… what am I missing?
The post module is placed inside a Custom Post Type – Templates (Blank – Custom Taxonomy)
Here is a screen shot.

Hi guys,
Background: I’ve got this website with your Newspaper theme installed which I have not been using or updating for at least two years, and the theme version was probably even older than that.
Since I was updating other websites yesterday (based on other theme) to new WordPress and theme version, I decided to update Newspaper theme (and the whole website) at the same time, cause it’s on the same server.
I had the feeling that making a backup copy before updating after such a long time would be a really good idea, but of course I thought to myself ‘Nah, what bad could happen that I would not be able to fix?’. Well… here we go:
So after uploading the newest Newspaper folder via ftp and replacing the old one, shit hits the fan.
First, I get a fatal error, website crashed.
I googled and this was a known issue with new WordPress version and old themes, I applied a quick fix (change one line code) in class-wp-textdomain-registry.php and hooray! the website ressurects. Happy days? Not really…
Second, the website does not look like before.
In fact, it does not look like a website at all (frontend), nothing works or displays correctly.
I googled and found that you made a major update some time ago and I need to install additional plugin to make old things work as they should (Standard Pack). So I did that and success again – pages and posts load as they should… with one very strange exception…
…the Contact page seems to constantly reload itself in an endless loop (it looks like it’s trying to send the form constantly without any fields filled in?), and the contact form is not visible in mobile version at all (mobile plugin installed), maybe it’s actually good because it’s not reloading endlessly like in the desktop version… This really drives me crazy… BUT! I change browser from Firefox to Chrome and the problem disappears! How come? Any idea what’s wrong? Also seems to be wrong only for logged in members (admins), that’s really strange.
But on mobile the Contact form is not there in any case.
I’d be grateful if you could tell me what is the best way to set everything straight, cause I like to have my websites and server files in good working order and clean, without any messed up code if it’s not necessary, so I’d prefer to reload WordPress and probably upload the newest Newspaper theme from the scratch – but how can I keep all my pages and posts and keep the structure and settings? If I make a normal backup copy with all site details included – will it not replicate the problem after importing it back onto the newly reinstalled WordPress and theme with old plugins, settings etc?
In the (not so) worst case scenario I may fancy rebuilding the website using one of the new templates you provided which look really nice, but I need my original content (e.g. pages, posts and media) to do that.
But if I didn’t want to redesign with new template – what’s the best solution to get everything back to clean and working state (now it’s working, but a bit messy and prone to problems in future, I guess…)?
Thanks.
